Greetings. Friends, I have such a problem. Poloniex froze my account on 02/18/2022. My ticket was closed without consideration. the second ticket is open for 120 days. Poloniex support is unresponsive. A robot is answering, we appreciate your patience. According to Poloniex rules, the ticket is resolved no later than 30 days. My complaints to the SEC, CFTC, OFAC, UN, have not yielded results yet. Perhaps one of you had such a problem and knows how to solve it?

I had no idea that the exchange is still in operation, but one thing I know is most of the projects that Justin Sun buys off turn into shit and get shady. I saw so many complaints about them in the past in many platforms, including Trustpilot.
I am not sure how you are going to handle this since not much can be done by forum members to make them do the right thing, but what reason did they give for freezing your account?

Well, I stopped using Poloniex since 2018. I have bad experience using them, like stuck coins that can't be withdrawn and forcing you to do KYC.
Until now, I have been unable to withdraw my coins from Poloniex Exchange, despite the fact that you submitted the requested documents.

So, if you are trying to solve your case and looking for help here, no one can be able to help you about this case; only support from Poloniex can decide if they are going to solve your issue; if they say no, then you don't have a choice but to call them a scam. Since this is what they do since before.

Exactly, Justin Sun always buying dying project and put his influence so that his blind followers will use it in exchange for mini freebies and other bonus to hype the project/exchange he newly acquired.

He is the most shady businessman in crypto that feeding on the money of dumb crypto trader.

I was supposed to not believe in story like this but browsing on the web shows there’s a lot of similar issue ever since Poloniex change ownership.

Is it not that exchange that has huge withdrawal fee for bitcoin. The last time I checked the withdrawal fee for bitcoin on the exchange, it was $237 or so. An amount of money that I can use to live comfortably in my country for 1 or 2 months. When I found out about this on the exchange, I knew it was an exchange I can never use.

One of the versions that my page was hacked.
I read the comments, and I am surprised that everyone who is familiar with the crypto market knows that Justin Sun is a fraud! Why, law enforcement agencies, police, prosecutor's office, cyber police, do not pay attention to the Sun scammer?
To commit such illegal actions, and not be punished.

Usually this kind of topics belong to the scam accusation board. But have you tried to talk to them through public social medias? Usually they don't like to have this kind of issues to be exposed for too long. So they care a bit more to resolve them quickly in order to save their reputation. I think it's the best strategy for this kind of issue against offshore exchanges tbh. You can also leave comments on rating sites such as Trustpilot.

It's because there's a loophole as long as the person has got money and he has it. You see, the guy is hungry for attention and was recently in the headlines about purchasing the banana, which is millions of dollars in worth. And guess what? he just ate it and probably there's something within it like washing money through that banana. It has been so long since poloniex was like the godfather of exchanges together with bittrex until he has acquired it and I have never bother to visit that exchange again, ever.

If it's a life changing amount, exploring your legal option/s with a lawyer could be something worth looking into.

Otherwise, make a noise on social media as someone else pointed out particularly in twitter/X because the crypto community is just so huge there. Whenever you can though, try to spend some time and money (if you can) to help your post gain traction as the more limelight it gets, the more effective it'll be.

For instance, detailed post, catchy headline, you could hire a small to medium sized KOLs to retweet your post -- be careful on scammers though, they're pretty rampant.

They are shady because they don't have public access information on Withdrawal fee.

Quote
Deposit and Withdrawal Transaction Fees

We do not charge fees for depositing crypto into your Poloniex account. When you withdraw assets from your wallet, there is a fixed fee per asset to cover the cost of broadcasting a transaction to the network. Fees can change regularly as a result of network congestion and other factors. Customers can view the current transaction fee for each currency by navigating to the 'Wallets' section and choosing the appropriate currency.

You can also transfer funds between Poloniex accounts for free with Off-Chain Transfers.

This page was last updated August 4, 2022.
And that page was last updated more than 2 years ago. Insane!

Checking withdrawal information from a third party website, it shows the withdrawal fee on Poloniex now is 0.001 BTC or $100. I didn't check accuracy of this information because I don't have an account on Poloniex.

I loved Poloniex. It was a great exchange... in 2015? 2016? I stopped using Poloniex long ago, it may be 2017 or so.
Their full embrace of KYC and the move under Seychelles jurisdiction were two big warnings for me and I've never went there again.

However, while I do understand you want to make noise on X, it's not unexpected they will not allow you write negative things in the place under their control. Add a lot of tags there to become visible, but be careful where you are writing and maybe keep backups as text to not have to write everything all over again. And bring evidence, else it's just your word against theirs, and you are losing simply because you are not visible enough.

They only shutdown their operation in US since maybe they encounter a lot of issue in that country that's why they decide to do that.

But still they are still operating outside of that jurisdiction and got decent total volume base on CMC https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/poloniex/ so we can assume that they are still doing fine that's why Sun still earning a lot of money from that exchange.

Their trustpilot rating is so awful https://www.trustpilot.com/review/poloniex.com that's why its hard to trust them and to bad if same with OP other people encounter an issue since maybe they will not get any fast responses coming from their support. So with this cases maybe more better to avoid using this exchange.

That's a lot, obviously they don't handle criticism and complaints about them well, so your options are limited because they will delete anything you write about them on their page. I have never actually used Poloniex before, though i have read so many negative reviews about them. If you don't mind, how much money was in your account when they froze it? If it is a large sum, prolly you can seek legal advice from your lawyer on what step to take, but nobody in the forum can help you.

I wrote a letter to CoiMarketCap, Coingecko. And asked them to write a warning that Poloniex can freeze accounts for no reason and steal funds. I provided them with evidence of Poloniex fraud, photos of the profile, my verification, missing funds from the frozen account, photos of Poloniex rules, where it is said that the receipt is considered in 30 days, and no later. I asked them to write about the danger that awaits people, about the warning. CoinMatcetCap refused to write a warning for people about the possible loss of funds on the site! Coingecko is still considering my ticket, there is no result yet!

Now on the SEC website, you can file a complaint against an organization, a company, and also against a person, that is, against Justin Sun.
I filed complaints against everyone, also attached evidence, I'm waiting, maybe over time there will be a decision.
There are 10,000 people like me, victims, There are people who lost from $ 100 to $ 200,000, if everyone writes complaints, the scammer Justin Sun will go to prison, or lose a lot of money on lawyers and fines!

This is the reason why people should stay off of centralized exchanges. Of course Poloniex, just like Binance or any other exchange only care about their own profit. Even if it means engaging in bad practices against their users/clients.

There are better alternatives to entrusting your money to a third party.

As far as Trustpilot reviews go, other exchanges, even the most biggest/trusted ones have extremely bad ratings. Seems strange to me.

This is the reason why people should stay off of centralized exchanges.
It's their private keys, it's their coins. It's our money but we don't have private keys, and it's not our coins. That's what we get if we use accounts on centralized exchanges for storing bitcoin and altcoins.

Not your keys, not your coins.

Quote
Of course Poloniex, just like Binance or any other exchange only care about their own profit. Even if it means engaging in bad practices against their users/clients.
Poloniex lost its position by disrespect their users in 2017, lost its position to Bittrex, and Binance. Justin Sun acquired Poloniex couple of years ago but it seems this man did not improve it, but made it worse.

I think he only brought the issue here because it's being a disturbance to him since he has been unable to sort it out probably if anyone here knows about how to go about it. Not really that the forum has an urge to resolution of it.
I can really feel how painful it could be having being frozen your account with no parameters of reasons.
I think this is one most reason why we need the adoption of a moving train meaning most using exchanges that's being authenticated of enthusiasts holding to usage because in such critic like this a fellow user can always alternate to provide soluble opinion on it. I myself hasn't heard of this so Poloniex before as well. Just so strange

You can try contacting Justin Sun directly and complain to him directly to get more attention, last time I checked he was very active on social media.
This is the thing when you are using centralized exchanges and holding any coins there, they can always be confiscated and account closed.
I would not be surprised if Justin ends up in jail soon, after that latest stunt with banana.

I asked them to write about the danger that awaits people, about the warning. CoinMatcetCap refused to write a warning for people about the possible loss of funds on the site! Coingecko is still considering my ticket, there is no result yet!
I am afraid, but neither Coinmarketcap nor Coingecko would do that because you asked them to do so, and not because your complaints are wrong, it is just what it is. People should already know the "dangers" of using a centralized exchange, one of them is what happened in your case. In this forum, we have incessantly written about the risks of keeping assets in a centralized exchange, but yet many people still do it and pay the price.
