Delicious preparation of one of our Nigerian favourite food called PLANTAIN With SMOKED FISH. the process of making the plantain is very simple, you first of peel of the plantain, then cut it into shreds and put all of it into the pot including the smoke fish and all the ingredients you will use and allow it to cook for at least 15-20 minutes. Afterwards you will add your palm 🌴 oil and mix it gently for it to give that delicious take.

Although I have never made this dish before, and I do not have much experience, this is the first time I have made this delicious food with my own hands by participating in this competition. Although I did not have much experience, I could not show much beauty, but this food was very delicious. Happy New Year you all, there are excellent delicacy but I did try to go really local and get a resounding local meal.

First Dish: Roasted Yam and Palm Oil sauce.

Ingredients: Yam, red palm oil, salt for taste, pepper (any of your choice), onion, and I do love onion, so did use quite a lot in mine; you can also add other seasonings like Maggie seasoning, although didn't use that in mine.

Anyways I suggest you stay consistent with a proper merit number so there would arise no room for the doubt of favoritism likewise CryptopreneurBrainboss.

Good initiative as I have said before in PM, can't remember if I have commented on the thread or not since I was occupied for most of the festive period so wasn't that active but you don't moderate merits. You don't tell people how to merit a post as it's done based on their own interpretation of the post being worth more merit or not. People can merit based on how they see the submission as you don't expect someone that puts in an effort to be rewarded the same way with someone that just barely participated.

Instead of trying to moderate how people merit, the best decision is to take away numbers of merits as a criteria for determining the winner or qualified submission (if that was even a criteria). The criteria should be based on other things excluding merits. There's, how the dish was prepared, presentation, detail explanation, visual display etc.

The most liked participant in a competition isn't always the winners as there are other things used in the judgement so allow people like which dish they want to like but have criteria for judgement.

CryptopreneurBrainboss is right as I think everyone has his or her own way of rewarding or applauding somebody on their efforts in what they have done. Maybe the processes they had used were very elaborate and self-explanatory to see which might have picked his rewards to them for their efforts. I do not see anything wrong in what he has done. I think it is just a way of saying welldone for your efforts in this contest as it continues.

It will also be a great pleasure to participate in this contest.

I found some really interesting submissions but I didn't over merit them because I'm of the opinion that if they are that good then they should win a position too. That's how it should be.

Like I said earlier any submission I see as cycling of merits will not be considered let's be Rational.

There are situations when a participant might need merit to rank up and his submission fortunately gets to receive the merits (to rank up) but with restricting how many merits someone can send just does not make sense.

Igebotz is a local board source so his merits is kinda indefinite and he can keep at a particular meriting pace but the same can't be said for others.

People can also use the supposed "over meriting" to make a submission that they'll consider to be their opponents to get disqualified so there's pros and cons to everything. The focus should be to encourage more submission in the contest and not how people merit because there'll always be submission that appease to people than others.

@Mia Chloe, without any bias i can tell you that CryptopreneurBrainboss is right, even in general forum contests you don't expect a user to go all round meriting each person that applied for a contest. However, every one is privileged to how, who and any Post they deem fit to merit without any restrictions or guidelines on how they should spend it. There is no cause for an alarm. Sincerely I do not even know what concerns merits and contest here, like you said you have set the prices of merits to receive to receive both with dollars price which people donated. So, if I get my craving food here and it looks yummy does it mean I won't merits the person at @Mia Chloe?
This is extremely wrong for my understanding, because I can't give merits to anyone if I should because it would be as if I am the cause of their disqualification and between following from what you said, I don't think you should be giving your 1 merits as well if so.. it's entirely better to keep empty maybe when the winner is announced then you distribution mertis accordingly. 
So will you keep restricting people from meriting anyone when the contest is finished? No the thing is people will keep meriting dishes they like either now or after the contest might have ended which you can't still regulates either.

So after my recent show working on the "Jellof rice", I've come to present you all a new phase of my cooking recipes of one of the famous African specifically Nigerian dish known to be "Afang soup with the Casava flakes".
Such a yummy delicacy comprises of essential items of the native vegetables as follows: Okazi leaf, Water leave and Uziza leaf. Also as the seafoods like periwinkles, oysters and crabs including variety of smoked fishes and meats while palm oil is also essential.
This is actually a native soup originated from the indigenous regions of the South South region of Nigeria and due to how delicious this meal is, it has been adopted by the other regions within the West African.
Before I forget, the soup is being enjoyable and eaten with either Pounded yam, ready to eat casava flakes or casava paste.
