I was not able to do this for a very long time. I have a new computer now. Downloaded the complete blockchain since, great, Armory does not work with a truncated one.

Now Armory 0.96.5 does not even install anymore under Ubuntu 22.04

1. What would be a Ubuntu version that can run armory a last time?

2. Is it possible to use a linux armory wallet under windows armory? I have virtual box and the blockchain is in a path that windows can access from virtualbox.

Any help appreciated. Honestly, I don't understand how anyone could be so crazy to use armory. And how do you run it? Windows? Super old Linux system? Virtual Box?

I am so desperate. This is a bad nightmare.

OK, Bitcoin core can now run under windows in the virtual machine, and it uses the blockchain from Linux

I installed Armory under windows. It starts up, long time since I have seen it running.  Roll Eyes

But it says "offline". Any suggestions? Have not tried to import or copy wallets yet.

OK. Bitcoin Core runs fine in the virtual machine. Armory, somehow, as expected, does not. Offline.

Please, any help appreciated. It is totally irresponsible to still advertise this wallet that basically does not run under any modern OS.

Logfile has tons of these lines:

-ERROR - 20:36:54.047: (e:\users\goat\code\armory3\cppforswig\socketobject.cpp:447) POLLERR error in readAndWrite
-ERROR - 20:36:54.047: (e:\users\goat\code\armory3\cppforswig\stringsockets.cpp:359) POLLERR error in readAndWrite
-ERROR - 20:36:54.047: (e:\users\goat\code\armory3\cppforswig\socketobject.cpp:447) POLLERR error in readAndWrite
-ERROR - 20:36:54.047: (e:\users\goat\code\armory3\cppforswig\stringsockets.cpp:359) POLLERR error in readAndWrite
-

There is no e drive. And not sure what this "goat" user is supposed to be.

This is another line:

2024-12-24 20:12:51 (ERROR) -- BDM.pyc:197 - DB error: C:\Users\michael\AppData\Roaming/Bitcoin/blocks is not a valid path

No shit man. Where does armory get this path from? It is obviously not honoring the settings path. The AppData directory does even not exists.
If armory is not honoring the path in the settings, does windows have a symbolic link option? Can I create these directories and link them somewhere else?

You should disable auto-bitcoind in the File -> Settings menu (first option) and run bitcoind/bitcoin-qt manually.

Did you go through the pathing guide? https://btcarmory.com/docs/pathing

Give is a try. If you still have trouble, post full logs using pastebin.
