A gambler needs no other resolution than to be able to manage their gambling so that it does not become worse than the previous year. people are obsessed with starting with a clean slate which is where new year comes in because a new year means you can start anew and you can leave everything you did wrong in 2024 and not look back it’s only good to have resolution for next year when we are already approaching the last days of the year

People separate the year, I find it funny, as if it were something to start over, but in reality nothing changes, it doesn't matter if you change course at the beginning or in the middle of the year, the results will be practically the same, it's more a question of human anxiety, numbers and dates don't help, it's practically superstition lol

Yes, it's very funny to me because when people say that they will change everything for the new year. The new year has come, can I change everything from 2024 and create a new one for 2025? We really say it with our mouths but we can't really turn it into reality. Actually, I never believe those who say that they have changed everything. But some aspects may change over time.

Actually this is really that indeed true that people will really be that easily saying about changes but the fact that people wont really be that easily achieve out such resolution specially if you've been having that kind of dealing up with it for long time on which changing it on point is never been simple and easy. Somehow there are those people who can be able to control up themselves and totally be able to follow on what they have been able to say out into their mouths. Usually new years resolution is something that will really be just that too common yet this will really be pertaining into the actions that you are making because you are planning out to stop it accordingly because of some reasons. In every new year then we are just that basically trying out to do something on which can be best for us.

For me then i dont have any resolutions yet im really that doing things on which i do see which its fun. There are really that indeed time or moments that you do become that excessive but of course you cant really be just that able to stop yourself because you do love on doing it. If you do saw that you are excessively doing it then of course its normal that you will be needing up to adjust accordingly but of course not all will really be able to do so.

New Year resolutions can be a good decision for you if you can relate to them positively and I can't be optimistic about everyone because it can be very difficult to get yourself out of that situation after getting addicted. However, in the case of some gamblers, it can be a good resolution for them if they try their best to change themselves and want to increase their financial capacity. If you become addicted to an activity, you may have to consider family and financial constraints to refrain from it and go against your mind. For example, some people may resolve to give up cigarettes or drinking habits which can be very difficult for them and sometimes it is impossible for them. For this situation, you may resolve to continue to adjust your financial constraints in a limited way and gradually reduce it.

You can change your activities through hard work and many do not believe that extra work can bring good luck. The financial capacity that will be created in you as a result of hard work will be positively affected for the future.

Once you do get addicted then it will really be that too hard for you to get out with gambling and this is the most challenging thing for a certain individual that have been get addicted with it but of course it will be that something that you will be needing up to recover because if you do let yourself that stayed up with this kind of situation on which you are addicted with gambling then you will be facing up  that huge issues when it comes to finances. New years resolution will be just that not basing up with gambling but also in other things as well on which at the time that you do need up to adjust something then of course you will be that wanting to have that kind of action and seriousness on trying out to control yourself on dealing up with it. Better experience? If you are just that playing gambling for the sake of fun then there's no issue with this but if you are doing this for the sake of money then that will impose a problem.

Play according into your interest and preference as long you arent that getting overboard with your limits then you should really be just that fine. Issues will really be that common into those people who are really that becoming that careless with their decisions because they dont be able to assess out whether they are still doing fine or not anymore. Gamble for fun then issues will be that not possible.

Well I realize that doing multiple bet is more unlikely to win given the experience of last year. Last year being 2024; that's few hours ago or barely a day ago, I felt many hard lucks were because of the numbers of games on the bet slip, so that has to be reduced. The few or single bets were mostly successful. Therefore, it would be wiser to have a rethink towards this and make an adjustment or change of strategy from multiple betting to more focused few games.

They're just mere plans but us, have to follow those resolutions. It's not that it will be as good as what we have planned for but then, it's not going to happen to most of us. As you have said, it should materialized instead so that each and everyone of us will have something better than the others that don't have any resolution at all for this new year's eve. To commit on your resolution, think of motivation which is very solid. That will serve as a guide  whenever you are diverting from your resolution. You need to remember why you need to do such activity. Because if the reasoning behind is weak, you will surely miss your targets.

Depending on the motivation, sometimes these motivations aren't helping as well even if with resolution as a gambler but I do hope that it works for you and to the most.

If you already create a plan as your resolution, you needs to work and make it happen because you want something change in this new year. That resolutions will helps us to stay in the boundaries and stick to our plan so we will try to achieves every plan we created. If we think that is difficult to achieve, we can modify the plan based on the current situation that happens so we will not feel difficult to reach. Maybe we thinks that we are too often to play gambling in the last year so we want to reduce our gambling activity. We must try to reduce that step by step until we think that we are success achieve our plan.

The change starts from us so with the resolution that we have, it's very important that we have to follow it if we're thinking of changing our habits. No one will help us but ourselves so if these resolutions are the ones to help us, give it a try and be consistent.

Honestly, I don't have specific resolution, I just try to gamble in a more healthy way.  
For the new year, I hope I don't ever gamble excessively. I will hold on the allocation for gambling games. I won't put more money when the allocation is over already. I will try to improve this ability, so I can avoid the potential problems such as addiction, playing with emotion, and many other problems.

We are already in the new year, so let's start working towards actualization or our new year resolutions. My elder brother told me yesterday that quitting smoking is one of his major resolutions. He said he would take his last weed last night and say goodbye to it forever. He is still sleeping and in a few hours I will know if he is really serious. Since his best time of smoking is immediately he wakes up from sleep.

My brother suffers from a severe cough and he has been advised to quit smoking. But he has decided to wait till the end of the year. My point is that why should I wait till the end of the year for me to make resolutions to stop what is affecting me negatively?

Sometime new year can be a trigger for some people to thinks that they must change their life after everything they already do in the last year. Some of them think that life will be go on so they must do something before everything ruin without they can change themselves.

That's called priority, and it's good to hear that you have learn it, maybe in the hard way, but still you need to allocated your money to more important things like brining food in the table for your family and maybe the education as well.

It looks like there are a lot of resolutions but the most common thing is to minimized our gambling. Definitely we don't want to incur big losses in our gambling. But there's no way to really track everything, isn't it. It's the same with me who always tries to gamble using a healthy way, the goal itself is to avoid big losses because unhealthy gambling tends to bring many bad impacts and that's something I don't want. Some habits and games really did me dirty and it's now time that i leave them behind and try new things for next year. This year i spent too much money on casino games and they really did not work out well for me. And also, i bet on some games impulsively. Sometimes because  i am low on cash or i need to attend to something urgently and those rarely ended well.

Next year i have decided to focus more on games where i feel i am more aware of or in better control. I will not explore new games because they might be the beginning of losing. And lastly i will stop betting impulsively. I do not wish to take a break yet, but time will tell if things don't really go as planned i will be left with no option that to take a break from gambling.

1.Yes, impulsive gambling is a big mistake and we should restrain from it.
2.I don't believe in new year resolutions. They simply don't work for me. It's like telling yourself "I will hit the gym next year and I will grow my muscles" and several weeks later you get lazy and you stop hitting the gym. There are other ways to build discipline and motivation. New year resolutions are definitely not an effective method.
3.What games are you talking about? The feeling of being "more aware or in better control" can be deceptive. I don't feel like I have control when I play gambling games. The outcomes are random, so you can't have control over a gambling game.

I don't believe in waiting for a new year, new day, or whatever before making a resolution. And I not against people who do it either. I believe that if we want to make a change, we must make it there and then. As we already know tomorrow is but a dream and it is not promised. Since I reflected on my gambling activities I made up my mind to, go outside of my comfort zone. I love slots a lot, but I am going to be betting more on crash games, roulettes. I will also consider playing dice. Once in a while, I bet a big amount of money just to see how it goes. I will also explore more of sports betting than I used to. I have started on those changes. I look to do more gambling addiction awareness locally.

I think we both have same experience last year, though mine may not be worse or severe as yours because initially I was making profit I mean winning often and all of a sudden I see myself losing those money I have make, I lose to an extent I felt the need to stop for sometime because it was really strange, losing money back to back is something that is supposed to be questioned or reasoned. So this new year I think I have started making some profit already and I wish and hope it continue for longer period. Dude I think betting or gambling impulsively is not a good idea and it's not a right approach per say because you will pick options that on a normal you won't pick or select. I do not have any resolution in mind pertaining gambling/betting because I keep to the weekly recommendation of not gambling more than 1% of my income, but I gambled with less than 1% of my income. To be precise, I spend less on casinos and more on sport betting but if I add both together, I still spent less than 1%. It was good.

Did you make more wins compared to your loss ever since you stated betting below 1% of income? I think it depends on the kind of games you bet on and how often you gamble. An average gambler must gamble approximately 6% to 7% of his/her monthly income. With this they can be able to have more luck when they gamble. Imagine losing the entire 1% a day in gamble. Does it mean you completely will stop gambling for the rest days in that month? Or you look for free bets, money gifts or take extra 1% an gamble later on?

Gambling and expect that you will be profitable next year can happen, but is it possible? Probably if you're lucky enough to win most of your bets, but most of the gamblers ending up losing their money before they can double it. If there's something that I wish most gamblers will apply in their gambling journey, that would be to learn how to control their emotions either when they're winning or losing because emotions really is a problem when it comes to gambling. Buddy first and foremost I must say that your have taken a right step and a good resolution in other to help yourself out on the consistent loss you experience last year in gambling due to your decisions, it is a good thing that you realized your mistake early and look forward to corecting them this year am impressed with such new year resolutions of yours.

To me 1% is too low i just want to know how you do it.

That 1% depends on how much you earn, if you say that your income is only $100 and that 1% is only worth $1,
but if the income is around $1000 or even more it will be worth $10.

It is even enough to start gambling if gambling is just a place to play and relieve stress,
not expecting big wins but only as entertainment and of course using a little money allocated and not more than the allocation.

There are many ways that can be done with 1%, even one tries to play below 1% but can get a huge profit, this also depends on luck and strategy.

And with regard to the Resolution for this year, I am not really targeting what I need to achieve.
Just playing normally, relieving stress and as entertainment when other work is done, the important thing is to play smoothly without greed and certainly will not deposit more than the minimum money I use for gambling games.

Good for you since you seem to be very carefree. It does seem like you have never really encountered some challenges across your gambling experience which is why there is absolutely nothing you want to change. For some people carefree means carelessness and recklessness so it is a tough line to balance in. Being too strict and having too many expectations might be unrealistic but on the other hand without a strict routine to stick to, you might end up doing whatever and going rouge.
