Recently, some scammers have started targeting legitimate businesses by making false accusations and threats to harm their reputation. This post is to raise awareness about these scams and help protect businesses and users.

How These Scams Work:
Scammers often create fake stories to make a business look bad. For example, they might say their transaction failed, even though they provide no proof. Then, they demand compensation or threaten to post negative reviews and comments on forums and social media.

Example:

A scammer claims they lost money in a failed transaction.
They don’t provide any valid transaction ID or evidence.
They use threats to pressure the business into giving them money.
How to Spot a Scam:
Here are some signs that the claims might be fake:

Fake Information:
Using VPNs, fake accounts, or false names.
No Evidence:
Not providing any real proof, like transaction IDs or logs.
Threats:
Saying they will ruin the company’s reputation online.
Aggressive Behavior:
Trying to rush or intimidate support staff.
What Businesses Can Do:
If your business is targeted, here are some tips to handle it:

Stay Professional:
Don’t argue or react emotionally. Provide calm, clear answers.
Keep Records:
Save all transaction logs and communications as evidence.
Check Online Mentions:
Monitor forums and social media for false claims. Respond professionally.
Use Evidence:
Share clear proof like transaction details to counter fake claims.
Share Your Experience:
If you or your business has faced similar scams, share your story here. By working together, we can help others avoid these traps.

Businesses should not fall victim to fake accusations and threats. Let’s stay aware of these scams and support each other to keep the online community safe and trustworthy.

Businesses should not fall victim to fake accusations and threats. Let’s stay aware of these scams and support each other to keep the online community safe and trustworthy.

Have you been victimized? or your business victimized by false accusation, then  point where the false accusations are coming; its very rampant on many review sites.
Some online companies pay people to give them positive feedback and at the same time ask people to give their competitors bad feedback without proof. This is the reason why people frown on these rating sites, because reviews can be manipulated.

Don’t worry their scams won’t work on the DT members. If a fake victims does the same thing here, instead of ruining the casino’s/exchange’s reputation, he will ruin his own account instead. It is not easy to pull that shit around here also because most posters are signature campaign participants and they won’t lynch a legit business without seeing any valid proof of a scam.

Since people here tend to side with the business for the reasons I told above, sometimes even some semi-innocent people become the victims because their situation was somehow in a grey area.

For example what would you think if a person uses VPN to access the casino even though it was against the ToS and the casino seizes the deposit of the player and refuses to send the money back?

The player clearly violated the ToS but does it give the casino any right to seize the player’s money? Sometimes shit like that happens too.

Not sure what's the whole point of this thread is, but... thank you for the input. Rest assured, we're always vigilant on determining a fake accusation from the real one. This is, in fact, one of the reason why I demanded supporting evidence to support the claim before reaching representative of the casinos being disputed, to separate the invalid accusations from the valid ones.

And rest assured too, that we are quite versed in this. We treat cases as a case-by-case basis. Every case is unique and have their own elements that need to be heavily considered, and we do not swallow one side's narrative wholly. We listen to both sides, from neutral ground.

Yes, I have personally experienced this issue. A business that I started with great hope and effort was destroyed because of such false accusations. Everything was going well until a scammer contacted me, demanding money. He threatened that if I didn’t comply, he would ruin my business.

When I refused to give in to his demands, he began spreading false accusations about my business on social media and forums, including places like this. By manipulating people's emotions with baseless and fabricated claims, he managed to harm my reputation and ultimately led to the downfall of my business.

This experience taught me that communities must always demand solid evidence before believing or acting on any accusations, no matter how credible or well-known the accuser might seem. Unfortunately, in my case, this didn’t happen, and the lack of scrutiny allowed lies to prevail. I hope this story serves as a reminder for others to approach such situations with fairness and critical thinking to prevent unjust harm to legitimate businesses.

The purpose of this thread is to raise awareness about a growing problem where scammers attack businesses with false accusations and threats, damaging their reputation unfairly. This can hurt legitimate businesses and create unnecessary chaos in online communities.

Here, we want to share experiences and provide tips to:

Help businesses recognize and deal with these types of scams.
Encourage users and online communities to ask for proper evidence before jumping to conclusions.
Create a supportive space where businesses and users can work together to stop these scams.
The main goal is to make the online space safer and more trustworthy, where facts and evidence matter more than baseless claims.

You should have countered his scam accusation with the evidence of him trying to blackmail you and your business. For example, if he had posted in this forum, there is always a provision for the accused to reply or create a new thread countering the false accusations

Gladly, in this community, not every accusation is taken seriously until the accuser produces all the necessary details and evidence of getting scammed.

You’re absolutely right, and I wish I had done more to counter his false accusations with evidence of the blackmail. Unfortunately, at the time, I wasn’t prepared for how damaging his actions could be, and I didn’t act quickly enough to expose his lies. But honestly, it’s really hard for a business to keep up with everything—running the business itself is already a big task. It’s not realistic to monitor every website, social media platform, or forum and respond to every accusation everywhere.

As for this forum, I know it’s supposed to focus on evidence before taking accusations seriously, and that’s a good thing in theory. But if you look around here, you’ll see plenty of accusations without solid proof or any real basis. So, while the idea is great, it doesn’t always work that way, and sometimes baseless claims still get attention and cause problems for businesses.

Ok, it piqued my curiosity and probably a fatal oversight from me, hence the curiosity.

Do you mind to show us where baseless claims get attention and cause problems for business? Because as far as my effort to keep an continuous update of the list on my thread, scam accusation without supporting evidence will be marked as invalid and pretty much ignored by the overseers, this [especially with the list that compile it in a very easy at-glance] business should not had any problem with these baseless accusation.

So umm, can you perhaps show me where these baseless claims? I'll try to verify each and every one of them as it's quite likely an oversight [again, fatal, IMO] from my side to mislabel those cases.

Do not worry even if they put false accusation to the rightful business and casino, there's always a way to verify their claims whether it is right or wrong or they've only placed that out of their frustration because they've lost a lot of money and can no longer recover that. I've seen a lot of them that were putting the blame to casino and making false stories just for them to get some % of their losses, it's become a modern threat but not all casino buys their stories.

We have seen such false accusations and those without a single piece of proof appear on Bitcointalk many times. Those users create such threads pretending they wish to inform and warn the community about a certain casino or service. When they are asked to provide evidence, they will reply in a few ways: sadly, I don't have any evidence, I will post it later, or I don't want my money back, I just want to help spread the message and protect others. Not long after, they disappear never to return again.

That's their business; I'm not saying that they come from the competition, but more likely, a solid company will not give in, and they prefer to combat the threat by addressing these complaints. These scammers are going to lose in the absence of evidence.

You did the right thing if you paid them; you just feed their scamming business, and they will continue doing this to other businesses; its part of our business to combat these scammers. All we need to do is have very good support and make sure that we address our users complaints properly. These scammers can do this on questionable review sites because they do not validate every complaint, but here in Bitcointalk every false complaint will not stand as they will be investigated.
