Have you tried looking for jobs in crypto companies ?

I work in an IT company and was just wondering whether any of you people have tried applying for jobs in crypto related companies.
Many crypto companies provide remote jobs and so you can try working from your home in such tech companies.
Companies like Zebpay, WazirX and other crypto startups are a good option for people in IT.
I have myself not tried in any of these companies but may be I might try in next few years. How about you guys ?

I have not anytime given a thought of joining any crypto company or companies. The reason is that a salary being paid in either USDT or BTC makes life more complicated considering the Indian Tax law on crypto. I have seen a lot of freelancers coming up with questions on how to pay tax on crypto earnings or salary on different subreddits. Amazingly, you as an IT guy living in India are even thinking about joining a crypto company

I never tried but after this thread I searched around LinkedIn and there's around 450+ jobs and 160 of them are remote so yeas it's an unexplored field I guess and definitely people with necessary qualification can apply for it.

Even though we have Indian exchanges, many of them have offices in different countries like Singapore so getting one on an office might not be a solution right now and with all these strict regulations from our educated ministers make people to live happily with whatever little window to make money making in our shitty policies regarding crypto.

All Indian exchanges that are FIU compliant have a base in India as it is one of the primary requirements. Some of them have their offices in India and have employees working for them. I have been reading and listening that our beloved FM is now going to make up to 15 Lac as salary tax-free. They should look into how the US and China are using crypto as an opportunity to boost their economy and at the same time, working to eliminate illegal activities. They should reconsider the tax bracket as with crypto a lot of unemployed youth in India can get remort jobs and work as a freelancers.

Now I understand your concern. The tax on crypto-related jobs in India is the same as the standard taxation for salaried employees.
However, there is an additional tax on profits earned from holding crypto.
That said, I wasn’t specifically suggesting that we must earn exclusively in crypto, as I think there must be crypto companies that pay in fiat currency as well.

There are companies that pay in fiat if they are based in India. Whereas those situated outside for example WazirX don't pay their employees in fiat. They generally make payments in USDT. Since this exchange shifted to Singapore and the owners shifted to Dubai. The problem the user base is still now facing is getting them face Indian judiciary. This shit is complicated and will remain the same.

Honestly, I wouldn't do that! Indian legal system is still not robust enough to support the crypto ecosystem. So I would not gamble with my career. The risk is really high when it comes to join a startup, crypto startups are even riskier. So personally I wouldn't apply for crypto companies originated in India.

However, if is a foreign company and has no offices in India or does not business in India, I might consider applying. It's really risky to join a crypto businesses in India to be honest.

True, potential risks out weighs the rewards so taking a sling shot with one's career is not a smart decision. As of now the crypto startups becoming successful is being slim due the unpredictable status of crypto regulations in our country so sticking with giveaways or whatever we can do to make crypto by working part time is better until the fogs clear regarding the policies.

It seems counter productive to seek for a job description that is paying in cryptocurrency in India because of the government's stance and draconian taxation scheme.

If someone wants to pay me in crypto, I would accept that but big amounts in crypto attracts legal attention and none of us want that on our heads.

I am expecting some information about regulations by the FM when she presents the budget this year. It has been more than 2 years that the community has been paying heft tax without any regulatory knowledge. Local exchanges are using this loophole to cheat the users. It is high time that the government provide some relief and encourage crypto activities in India.

Clarity is definitely needed for crypto taxation in India but until then there's no need to pay 30% flat tax if you are earning crypto through a job.

I understand that earnings from freelancing can be classified as business income, but in many cases, these individuals are freelancers who do not establish a formal company or open a business account in India. If they convert their earnings to fiat currency and transfer them to their savings accounts, they will fall under the applicable tax slab. However, if they receive payments in USDT, they would only need to pay TDS and file their returns.

Many here in this discussion thread have pointed out the need for clarity regarding taxation, and I agree, as there are numerous gray areas. For instance, you are only taxed if you are engaged in spot trading, not in futures trading. Although TDS is still applicable, as a trader, you are not necessarily subject to the general tax laws regarding cryptocurrency trading in India.

Mostly I do content creation like forum posting, reviews. In future I will try if my experience fits to that jobs. Presently concentrating on p2p trading to make money from price difference.

No, I would never recommend anyone to join Indian based crypto company as they are running into losses and at the verge of bankruptcy because of the draconian tax rule implemented by government of India wherein one has to pay 30% gst on profit and 1% TDS for every trade. We have seen mass layoffs from Indian based crypto companies and this government has killed once flourishing crypto industry in India. It would be equal to committing suicide if we decide to join Indian crypto company.

That is an excellent job - just think about the number of lives you are improving by doing that. That itself should make you more determined to work hard and with passion.

If you make good content, there are many users here who are writing stuff for companies and getting paid for that. I would suggest grow your account here gradually and join campaigns and eventually plan for joining such a group on this forum itself.

I would not recommend P2P, too many scams running there. Focus on your job and on accumulating bitcoin, you can sell when government becomes more lenient on crypto.

If you are interested in earning a decent amount through the internet or this forum then continue to be active here. As soon as you become a Senior Member in this forum you can then apply for signature campaigns. As of now, you can participate in multiple contests if they allow a Jr. Member to participate in a contest. It took me a a few years to reach where I am now without any help as I was always active and learning what the forum is all about. Do your due research and in time you can make a decent amount in Bitcoin from the forum.

I'm actually more into freelance work like data entry or writing, and the idea of getting paid in crypto sounds pretty cool. Do you know of any platforms or companies that provide freelance opportunities with crypto payments?
