You mentioned golf, hockey and football, but in the poll above you only listed names of football players without mentioning other athletes in the other games, we also have notable men and women golfers and hockey players internationally recognized.
Why not include a few of them on the list also and let's see what forum members have to say about them and who their favorites are?

I have no idea where this discussion will go but I will bite.

You said, men and women. I think those two have different POVs when it comes to sports. An example is my own experience. My wife doesn't really like sports but ever since I started playing live NBA on our television, she did love the sport without knowing it but she didn't really have anything she liked before.
Now she loves the GSW team, yeah, the Warriors. A big Curry fan. I do believe that we as men who love sports can somehow affect the likes of our partners in sports too. She doesn't love violence so she doesn't watch UFC whenever I play it on TV and says I must watch it myself on my computer since there is too much violence in it. I think it will depend on every woman since they all have their own POV when it comes to sports, especially with how they grew up with.

But as long as he explains the continuation of the description in the thread I think forum members can put the names of their athletes. After all, we would need a long list if we had to include all the famous athletes from each sport.

Well since he mentioned those games we should have at least one of the known names in those sports on the poll list so that the equation will be balanced considering the long-term views and the existence of this thread.

Leaving forum members to figure out may result in possible spam, with the repetition of names from forum members who may not read the comments of others before making the list of their favorites.

I think Op, has to put constraint on this post, regarding only football rather than sports in general since the poll shows this thread is about football idols/legends only.

Even on the poll, there are other names missing like Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff and others. Also, I think it will be better if this was an open discussion rather using polls in speaking about football legends/idols.

I used to love Argentinian SuperLiga and Brazil Serie A soccer championships, did not have any favorite footballer although I loved the way they played, at least in Brazil most teams played open football like it is meant to be and not the way we see football nowadays which is a bad show for most of us hardcore football fans, you simply see in Europe that teams are doing everything to show us an ugly football as they think only about the points, it is more of a business rather than an entertainment event a soccer game in Europe and that is why I don't watch them from quite some time. In Brazil they have a true party when a football game is being played much different than Europe which sucks as I said, so I love the way they play in Brazil and also some teams in Argentina.

Op just a little suggesting I don’t think that pool you created is a good idea - since you’re asking us for our Favourite player then you shouldn’t have created a pool because some might have players who they like more than those on your pool so it won’t really make sense for them not to be apart of the voting process.

And by the way, my favorite players is actually Ronaldo — as for the reason why I like him, there are none right from when I started watching football there have been some kinda of rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo and I happened to support the Ronaldo team and that’s how my love for him started and till this day the love is still there.

I don't like soccer at all, i'm more a MMA gambler, and there are some fighters that are my favorite ones and i would like to mention some of them.

Ilia Topuria. This fighter have done an awesome job the past year, his fights was amazing and it's one of those "Easy money" fighters, if you see him fighting soon, don't doubt about placing some bets.

Alex Pereira. This guy is a KO machine, and his fights in 2024 were just amazing, he make some crazy KOs and for sure we will see crazy fights this year.

Max Holloway. This fighter did not always win, but in the fight of the BMF he give the most amazing show we could ever see doing a KO in the last second on the fight.

Like some of my friends will say.... That they are not gamblers because they fears to loose their funds with no outcome of entertainment.
So they usually say... If I must place a bet, I will love to bet on boxing so that if I looses then the one I betted on to win takes beating of himself for for their losts.

Really sounds sounds stupid because lost is lost right? I think this is actually where they find it fun and entertaining taking boxing as their favourite betting game.

Ronaldo is football star idolized by many people, the first time I saw and liked Ronaldo was when he played in the Premier League with Manchester United, many beautiful and spectacular goal were created and many impressive victories that cannot be forgotten until now.

With football and tennis being my most favorite sports games, am a fan of Messi, ronaldo, Sharma in football and there are many good player in football but I obviously fan the best because they are just so good with ball. I have always been a fan of Messi. I mean, the statistics speak for themselves. 8 Ballons d’Or awards making him the most decorated football player of all time shows how much his talent and skills were recognized by the sport. He was able to bring pride to both his club and country. I think that he really did put Argentina to the map and made people recognize Argentina as top players of football.

He was able to inspire and lead countless people. Such a talented athlete with an admirable humility. A man who leads an honest life and a skillful career. I am not Argentinian but I could only imagine how much he means to them.

OP, there are some names that I was also expecting to see on your list, but I was surprised to see just a few of them compared to the list of the sports you have mentioned. Ordinarily, I would have said that the list is not complete, but I believe you have a reason why you mentioned just these few names. The names belong to good players who are well-recognized at club and national levels.

So far, Ronaldo is my pick and he has achieved a great fit in the football industry which most footballers are yet to achieve. Bitcoinsummoner has been able to summarize some key points about Ronaldo, which I find very interesting and speaks more of his features and achievements. I think he has done very well for himself and has created a remarkable record in the football industry that only a few people have been able to do. From the many sports in the world that is very famous only Ronaldo and Messi, whom I know so far have become a favorite of many people, Pele and Zidane we don't know about it because we are in a different era, even like Pele or Maradona whose names are always discussed as much as possible Football legend but we do not see it and only listen to the story of parents in its history, vocal athletes and many fans of course are Ronaldo and also Messi this is very likely to be achieved by these two rival legends and no one will defeat them in football His career in the sports world.

Favorite game in sports is football. Cricket and hockey are underrated while Golf are for the billionaires. My favorite person in football still remain Neymar, he is the last Brazilian that has the traditional samba moves in him. He also has pretty face and beautiful tattoos. One Ronaldo fan. Many persons here will be so obsessed with Ronaldo and i love that due bit they are on relying on hypes and banter. I do not like the fact that many persons dont even know the reason why they like Ronaldo but they are so obsessed with him. He is one of the best in the football current history.
