I know Messi and Ronaldo is a great player and i am sure if someday they retired people will know them as one of the best football player in the history but my favourite football player is Steven Gerrard because in my opinion he was the best midfielder which England and Liverpool has so that's why he is my favourite because when Steven Gerrard still being an active player Liverpool wasn't as great as it is today but Gerrard was carrying Liverpool on his shoulder

During his carrer as Liverpool player Gerrard can able to gets several trophies but one of the most memorable trophy which he got is Champion league trophy on 2005 at that time Liverpool fight against AC Milan prime and they are underdog but Liverpool can make epic comeback and won the trophy through an penalty kick

Honestly, it's actually a little confused what will be discussed here. But seeing the title I understand a little that everyone has a different favorite sport.
A short story when I started to like football when I saw Ronaldo's expertise in every match and consistently the training he did at any time and even other players could not necessarily have a tight lifestyle like Ronaldo. So that starting from that moment I really like that Ronaldo is very worthy of being a star player in football who has consistent expertise and even in his old age he is still able to appear extraordinary.

Performance could be the only reason for being my favourite for a player. Still, I will not get impressed by reading about the past performance or just proving in one or two matches will not be enough for me to consider a sport person to be my favourite. For becoming my favourite, a player must show their class like a phoenix bird to save themselves or their team or a consistent performance to win the matches for considerable amount of time.

In my criteria, the sports that I can understand and able to watch are my favourite sports still I will not bet with all the matches I do watch. I do bet only for a match or a player where I could make a prediction. In my opinion, we can make a prediction only when we closely follow a sport or player continuously. Otherwise we may commit a mistake in predictions due to lack of knowledge.

Ronaldo remains many people's favorite player of all time, his performance was beyond what we could imagine in soccer, and his skills were second to none as there was no other player that could be able to withstand him on the pitch. I was also curious as to why African players are not talked about. The likes of Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Amokachi, Rashidi Yekini, Obafemi Martins, George Weah, etc African players are not recognized or mentioned for their performances and contributions to soccer. This has made me more curious here aside from the fact that we have African awards and leagues, African players are not talked about just like this here, Is there something I am missing or what?

I saw a few matches while Zidane played his last World Cup and I have never seen the live on TV Maradona but I am a fan of Maradona though he is no more. And for now, why not include the top players who are currently in this era in football? Such as: Bellingham, Yamal, Rodri, Haaland, Vini JR, Mbappe, Lewy, Kane, and others, maybe even if there are too many, it's better not to include voting, so we can write ourselves, the name and from which sport is the favorite.

Like some of my friends will say.... That they are not gamblers because they fears to loose their funds with no outcome of entertainment.
So they usually say... If I must place a bet, I will love to bet on boxing so that if I looses then the one I betted on to win takes beating of himself for for their losts.

Really sounds sounds stupid because lost is lost right? I think this is actually where they find it fun and entertaining taking boxing as their favourite betting game.

I actually prefer sports bets on champions league but hope to see my team in the tournament because I am always biased with the opposition team. 😆

This sounds so funny and also annoing. What a low mentality, how can someone that called himself a good gambler have such feelings when gambling, to be honest is so annoing, instead of thinking how to make a win they are there talking about beating while they have lost the money that they used in betting on them which is very wrong decisions. However, I think instead of lavishing their money in boxing it will better for them to go into sports betting and gamble responsibly.

You're right, I think those players need to be listed as well so as to enable us select our favorite players, since he has mentioned most of the sports. Though I'm not always a fan of golf, hockey and other sports which op mentioned earlier neither do I know there names. I'm literally good at football because that's the only event I devote my time to watch, but since you didn't mention any of this football players how did you espect us to choose who are our favorite players are? I think you need to edit this thread so that you can be able to include their names, so that it will look more interesting.

My favorite sports is soccer but I don't have a favorite player even though I have club I support. I make efforts to avoid betting on my favorite club so I don't miss emotions in my sense of judgement. Any week my club have match, I will only watch and enjoy them playing as well as give them my maximum support but for my money, I will chose other teams from the thousands of events hosted daily across several leagues. I do love other sports apart from football but I limit my betting to football and a little of basketball and Tennis.

It is what gives them satisfaction that they will go after. People have different reasons for doing certain things in life. Same way you find sports betting fun, there are many people out there that don't fancy sports betting. That's why humans varies in everything we do in life. And we have to respect everyone's choices in whatever they decide to do. Not that they don't think of winning, they do want to win and as much as they want to win, they are also prepared to loose. But to them their lost should come with pains to the person that made them lose their bet. I don't believe they lose all the time they bet on boxing matches. There are times they do win as well. It's better to stay with the sports you know very well when placing your bet than go to the ones you don't have the experience.

Fortunately, my favorite teams are very strong, so I have no problem betting on them. For example: in La Liga my favorite team is Real Madrid, in Ligue 1 my favorite team is PSG, in the Premier League my favorite team is Liverpool, in the Bundesliga my favorite team is Bayern Munich, in the Portuguese League it is Benfica. So they are strong teams that fight for the title every season, so I feel very comfortable and happy to bet on them and watch their game.
