It's supposed to be very good on mobile devices. We would appreciate it if a lot of people test it on various devices.

I am testing demo forum in different browsers and it's working good so far, but I can't stand bright white color, so please think about changing it to something different by default and add dark theme switch.
Even current smf forum is using grey-blue color that is much easier on my eyes.
ANother thing I noticed on demo forum is that profile signatures are not visible at all, and I disabled all ad blockers in my browser.

• No merits on user profile in threads.
• Not a fan of squished and rounded avatars in thread lists etc. They're unreadable/unrecognizable. Just don't show anything.
• Full-size avatars in threads seem to be smaller than on Bitcointalk, causing some to be mangled when scaled down.

Some of these have been fixed. Merits now appear in thread pages near the avatar area as expected and avatar shape is now rectangular as expected. IIRC long time ago a setting has been added in the Admin panel to allow switching from rounded to rectangular avatars.
The size needs adjustements still, I would suggest the original Bitcointalk size of 120x80px (or scaled for proportions) and at least up to 100KiB in size to preserve compatibility with all existing avatars.

Epochtalk has a built-in theming engine to modify the colors of various zones of the UI. A dark theme switch was suggested by me long time ago and AFAIK is on the list. Even suggested it again in my first post here.
As for the signatures, they were visible when the demo was announced but were probably disabled to work on fixing the compatibility with the new UI.

Good to hear that.
We don't need anything fancy, just basic alternative dark theme, and maybe make it a bit wider, there is a lot of empty space now.

They are going to continue working with current signature designs, or we can expect to see support for more modern signatures that can include images.

I find bitcointalk.org system and theme great. If it has no security issues why you have to change?
epochtalk theme is really ugly for my personal tastes.

It appears that we can't do horizontal scrolls and considering that we're dealing with a limited width ^{[more noticeable on mobile devices]}, long texts inside a code tag will result in only showing half of the content: Screenshot

Quite a few of the issues that I already reported are still not fixed so this blind system (submit a form and hope for the best) really sucks. I don't know if it's being fixed, won't be fixed, can't be reproduced, etc, and checking the site to see if there are any changes is a waste of time. Why can't we have github or some other more robust system for bug tracking?

It looks like bbcode parsing is being done client-side... at any rate, it's broken as you can see in e.g. signatures and appears to have mangled the OP so that it spreads over two posts and shifts everything else down.

It has taken years for a real update on the new forum and though the update is definitely welcomed the project is comprehensively behind where it should have been. It certainly needs a lot of work, there is no doubt about that. Talk of the forum has been going on for a very long time, it should have been completed years ago. Many of us have probably given up on ever seeing it completed.

The forum modernization is long overdue but needs to balance improved functionality with maintaining what makes Bitcointalk unique i mean like Preserving core forum features (signatures, ranks, etc.) is crucial for community identity. The signature display issue, for example, is important since many services and projects rely on sig campaigns.
