For those of you who don't know Lua is one of the more basic programming languages. I used to play a game when I was a kid that used this language to let people create games that other people played on. They played on servers with a set amount of people online at a time. A popular game may have over 100 servers for the same game running at a time. Would it be possible to code your game to mine bitcoins in the background, and use the server power given by the host to mine for you?

This is purely hypothetical, I have no where near the coding knowledge to do this. Just curious, I would like to know if something like this is even possible. Oh, and, if it were possible, would the servers even have enough power to get anything done? I'm not sure of the specs, but probably comparatively weaker than most developer hosted gaming servers.

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

That is a really interesting idea! Probably not fully legal, but I don't see why it would not be possible.

And no, the servers would not have enough power to mine bitcoin. The best shot with them would be some alt-coin.
