Alright, after a week of upsets (or bad picks, one or the other) its time to make things easier for this weekend:

Does anyone really believe that the Texans have a shot against the Chiefs, or that the Commanders have a chance against the Lions? No, you don't. What crazy upsets either one of those games would be. But will the Chiefs play against the Bills or Ravens, hard to say. And will the Lions play against the Rams or the Eagles (a bit easier to hang your hat on the Eagles for that one -- two words: Saquon Barkley).

I'm leaning toward most of the favorites except for the Ravens game. My heart wants the Ravens because they're always getting doubted, but my mind says the Bills because they already handed losses to two of the best teams in the league.

If there's an upset this week it's likely the Bills game even though it's hardly an upset considering how well these two teams have been playing.

It's a decent attempt for a total odds of 3.75 or something similar, and removing the Ravens' leg pushes it down to close to 2.00 or +100. That could also be a good alternative bet for those who prefer not to sweat the final leg.

Just lends credence to the old adage that the playoffs really are a different game than the regular season. It's all so final. There's no "we'll get another chance next week."

I'm not sure there's ever been a team with more post-regular season experience than the Chiefs. They're on the verge of a Super Bowl three-peat, which has never been done before, and nobody has more poise under pressure than Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. So I'm going with Kansas City.

Washington was a shocker for sure. 100% expected them to cover the spread but expected the Lions D to hold them to field goals and not let them see the end zone. Chiefs game went as expected although I think there will be some new rules or ways to review a play for next year when it comes to QB and what constitutes a flag.

Buffalo vs Baltimore is going to be interesting. If Buffalo can stop the Henry/Lamar run combo they win the game. If not, it's a shootout and team with the ball last wins. Rams vs Eagles is a game I can see LA winning. They're looking dangerous so far in the Playoffs and riding a hot streak from the regular season while Philly played like shit last week and barely eeked out a win. If Jalen Hurts doesn't wake up and be the duel threat he has been all season, they lose.

Who can? I was sure (and afraid) that a new "surprise" would be made and thankfully wasn't the Chiefs game. Great game from Karlaftis, he steps up at a very crucial time. However, as yahoo62278 said, they should review this flag/ penalty given to Mahomes. I'm not a master in American football rules but this wasn't a penalty.

Dammit, you're absolutely right. It was late in the evening and I was a bit toasted. Whoever the Rams were playing, I meant I was taking the other team. Which of course was the Eagles. Good catch. This thread has been something of a giant fail   but I plan on doing it every year from now on regardless.

Sometimes you reach your limit and others don't. Same with these teams. Rams going this far was considered already a success (I lost a bet because of them lol), and the same goes for the Ravens (which gave me a win). It isn't bad to admit it and focus on the next season. Nothing ends in a year and for sure can be better and stronger.

Alright, I finally got 2 picks right instead of one, so we move up to 6-4. Will need to get all 3 of these last games correct to salvage what I can of my reputation.

For those who live outside the US, you should know that this is basically true:



Much of America would rather see the Bills in the Super Bowl because the Chiefs have won 2 out of the last 3 Super Bowls and been part of every AFC Championship game since 2018. And much of America would rather see the Commanders in the Super Bowl because Eagles fans are annoying A.F.

Having said that, I don't think either team will win next weekend. Would like to hear any rationalization as to why they would. Commanders are certainly looking strong but they don't have Saquon Barkley on their team.

Seriously, it doesn't matter what everybody wants and we know it. Anything can happen but let's go better with the reality odds. The Chiefs is a champion mentality team (a "dynasty") and they want something that no team ever achieved. A three-peat. So I will support their hunger for being in the history of this sport with gold letters.
As for the Eagles, they are a better team than Commanders. Even if Commanders make an impressive run, and have the best QB in terms of most passing yards and QBR in the playoffs, they lack experience and (as you said) a running back of the quality and caliber of Saquon Barkley. I'm sure that he will want to make the new rushing yards record against the Commanders, no matter what he says.

Indeed, it was a blowout, and not only for you. Many people played for the win of the Vikings and went straight to the trash can! Big congrats to the Rams and their defensive line (and staff), they make a truly great game. Unfortunately, I didn't see it, (only the extended highlights) but if you want to stop a great offense, you need a greater defense.
Idk about the next games, so I will take advantage of these 2-3 days until I put any bets. However, I tending for the Chiefs to win but I'm not sure about the Lions. Playoffs are full of surprises...

I reckon if you are talking about surprises during the playoff, the Chiefs might be more not certain to have the victory against the Texans than the Lions against the Commanders. They Texans appear to be very underestimated, I reckon.

I am also speculating something similar on the Rams. They are also very much underestimated against the Eagles. On the Bills vs. the Ravens, I predict that the Bills will very much win this with 1 touchdown or more. There might be snow and Lamar does not like snow. They will depend more on Henry, however, the Bills will defend this easily.

Ehh you know this is a really tough one as CJ Stroud has had the preverbal "sophomore slump".  Jayden Daniels is going to win rookie of the year and they are playing well.  Now the best QB on the planet is still Mahomes , he doesn't have to of had the best year or best numbers..he's hand down the best ( Burrow is in the second spot and feel so bad for him and Chase).  

Stafford did win a SB just recently Puka fn beast, Kyren, ..but philly has an OLine that can move moutains, the best RB in football a solid QB , good WRS (Brown is top 5, don't care what anyone says), You make great points tho, really going to be good ones. Any given sunday.

This also because the Texans are against the Chiefs with Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and all of these Tayor Swift fans heheheh. It is very difficult to have the victory against them in the playoff. I very much underestimated the Chiefs because their team appears to be not better than the years before with Tyreek Hill.

In any case, I am very much mistaken and shocked on the performance of the Washington Commanders against the Lions. I very much wish the Commanders will win with more than the spreads offer. The Eagles is Jim Cramer's favorite team heheheh.

Things really haven't played out as expected, and so I guess I can't say with any certainty how I feel things will play out in the next two final games.  I watched the playoffs start in Mexico 2 weeks ago, so I was watching from bars and my hotel room, so I of course didn't get to sit down and really watch like I would if I were at home.  Last weekend I was in a class that made me miss half the games (I'm an idiot for scheduling said class)..so I feel a little off kilter so to speak, but I would take Philly at -6 and KC vs Buff..fack, I just don't know.  How can you bet against Mahomes, and not gunna lie the bias that comes from the refs ( call it cheating I don't quite fully know how I feel yet).

I made a typing error, however, I have corrected this hehehe. Uncle Jim's favorite team is the Philadelphia Eagles. He is a very big fan and he shares much photos of him in the stadium, cheering and spreading his arms very much like he is an eagle. Similar to uncle Jim's market predictions, this will certainly be very bullish for the Commander.

On the Bills vs. the Chiefs, this will certainly be another headshaking season if Josh Allen will lose again against Mahomes and the Chiefs. I reckon after this, Josh Allen might not perform very highly next season.

It's probably because of the underdog storyline and some of the football fans could be tired of seeing the Chiefs punch another ticket in the Superbowl.

From a bettor's point of view, i'm going to root for the favorites too. I don't mind seeing the same favorites make it through when they've been my money-maker in this playoffs and I wouldn't want to fade the Chiefs together with their magical luck going on at the moment.

It's "stupid" to hate a team because refs make a wrong call. I understand the frustration but the team has nothing to do with it. IMO referees in every sport need reevaluation and extra lessons ASAP or the undeniable objective help of technology. It's true that having refs is a necessity but they can't always be 100% right and this can affect the result and the history. That's a problem for any team, in any sport, especially for high-level leagues and tournaments.

With less than 48 hours to go, here are the spreads:

Washington (+6) vs. Philadelphia (-6), O/U = 47.5

To be played in Philadelphia. Meanwhile WAS leads PHI in almost every important stat: average pts, yards per play, 3rd and 4th down conversion %, lower # turnovers per game. I reckon this should be a closer matchup than the next game. I think the safe bet here is WAS to cover +6 (PHI will probably still win is my guess).

Buffalo (+2) vs. Kansas City (-2), O/U = 48.5

A home game for KC; such a tight spread suggests that Buffalo would be the favorite if it were a home game for them. Regardless, as we've previously discussed, no team comes close to have as much playoffs experience as KC. The duo of Mahomes + Andy Reid is unstoppable when it comes to finding ways to secure the V. My belief is KC will win and easily cover the spread.

Yeah the internet is definitely out for blood right now when it comes to the Chiefs.  I mean it sure does feel like the refs are either cheating a little bit or are giving Mahomes some "non-travel" calls like you might get when watching Lebron play.  I hate to see it either way, intentional or not. 

I can't imagine the Commanders beating the Eagles, a rookie QB and a so so offense around him.  It's not like they've got AJ Brown and Saquon Barkley.  I want to lean Eagles all day at -6. 

KC is -2.5 as of right now (Via ESPN).  The Bills should win IMO but I just don't think I can put my money on them. If you're betting on KC 2.5 is sure a solid number, I wonder if it'll change to -3.
