Considering the way 2024 ended, shocking most Bitcoin enthusiast ! Bitcoin reached it all time high towards the end of last year.
But if you all could remember what happened in 2017 , where Bitcoin was I think probably around $1000 and towards the end of the year Bitcoin hit around $20,000.
That's like almost or more around a 200% increase.

This year can we hope for a repeat of the 2017 bull run again, considering that there are now a lot of factors that is making Bitcoin more acceptable than before?

It's very different time though in 2017, but you wouldn't think that we will be hitting like 20x this end of 2025? We are already like 125% increased from January - December 2024 already so that is a big jump in prices, so most likely with the current price will be going like 2x or maybe around $150k-$180k as most of us predicted. So again that is a huge increased and everyone should be happy with that kind of profits. Yes, there are a lot of good news in the market that can really make that price possible. Like the incoming President of the US with his pro-Bitcoin stance. So let's see, it's just the start of the year and we are looking forward for a bright future this 2025.

If your question is: can Bitcoin grow and give us x20 returns from its current price like what bitcoin did during the 2017 bull run? I am pretty sure that is not possible because as bitcoin matures, its capitalization will increase and its volatility will also decrease over time. We will no longer see bitcoin prices increasing 20-40x in each cycle like before, those days are gone. Increasing market capitalization from $1 billion to $10 billion is much simpler and easier than increasing from $1 trillion to $10 trillion.

If you want to value bitcoin, look at the market capitalization instead of just looking at the price of each bitcoin.

well I like the facts you just gave, but no I strongly disagree with you. I do believe that Bitcoin can attain or have a repeat of the 2017 bull run again maybe not this year , or next year but definitely it would happen. The situation back then in 2017 wasn't too Bitcoin friendly as it is now in 2025 , but still Bitcoin grew as much as it did , so with nations and some government keeing into Bitcoin gradually I do see Bitcoin hitting that land mark once again.

Bitcoin's current market cap is almost $2 trillion and to reach $20 trillion we need $18 trillion and it will take $38 trillion for Bitcoin's market cap to reach $40 trillion. Meanwhile, global GDP is only over 105 trillion dollars, where will we get such a huge amount of money in a short time? We should be realistic, not too delusional and set expectations that never happen.

No matter how potential bitcoin has, don't forget that this is a financial market and we are here to make profits. It can be said that making money in this market is not too difficult but most people do not make money and one of the reasons why many people lose money is because they set their expectations too high, unrealistic. It is still possible for Bitcoin, but since the price of Bitcoin is now at a much higher figure than in 2017, of course we also have to consider several other factors even though Bitcoin is now more acceptable to many parties than in previous years. Because the volume that Bitcoin has at this time is also very different from the amount of Bitcoin volume that existed in that year, the rate of increase in price may not be as sharp as you saw in that year. Because at this time a 100% price increase is already extraordinary for Bitcoin, let alone if it can reach 200%.

Russia and the US? Both have shown intentions tough to accumulate and so there is another arm's race in modern era, but this time it's going to be Bitcoin.

Yeah, I do not think that they will be quiet and never be discovered. Just look at Bhutan, they are secretly mining and obviously hoarding big amounts, but they were exposed and now they are the 4th or 5th countries with the highest Bitcoin in their arsenal.

So just imagine a country that is not a superpower, but have amassed a ton already and with that, it's going to be a catch up games for other nations who wants to join the "arms race".

I think we'd definitely see more growth compared to where we are now, but I don't think we'd be seeing anything close to a 200% increase. The older Bitcoin grows, the less we'd see those kinds of growth after all. Reasonably speaking I'd expect something at around 150k ish as the peak. Still up to debate but still, highly doubt we'd reach 200k though.

We can have some faith, but we should not expect too much. Yes, despite the unpredictability of the market trend, we can't just simply ignore what happened in the previous bull run will not happen again because it is still possible. Maybe we don't just need to be excited and feel that it will come. 

But we don't just get carried away and remain optimistic because the price of bitcoin is still high. We might not know if a sudden drop occurs. We remind ourselves that not all the time the market is bullish. Turning bearish again has the same possibilities as if it were going to pump.

Man multiplying by 20 (a 2000% increase, not 200%) from these levels is twice as bullish as the most bullish predictions I've seen, which forecast a million for this cycle. In any case the cycle looks very good, and I think that reaching $0.5M is not farfetched. I believe that everything will start to be seen from next Monday onwards, seeing how the policies of the new administration in the USA are implemented and how the market reacts to them.

As for now we can't predict the price of Bitcoin and we are waiting the outcome after when the newly elected president Donald Trump has been inaugurated. Many are say that after the inauguration the price will rise and if really the price rise after swearing him the. The price and it percentage will surpasses 2017 200% you are talking about.
And bitcoin can't go back to 2017 percentage again but it is more than that. And from that year to now, you can see the differences.

2017 was not the last but 2021. If it happened in 2017 and 2021, I do not think 2025 will be missed. But bitcoin may not go much than $150000 to $170000 which has been my guess but I may be wrong. According to myself, bitcoin will have a bullish market in 2025 but I do not know what price would be the ATH.

Bitcoin went from $20K to $68K in 2021 and now the wait is on for how much bitcoin is actually for ATH? We are still waiting and it is predicted that this year bitcoin will probably reach it.
I believe what you said in the range of $150K and $170K although this is not entirely going to be accurate but I think it will be in the $150K area and we wait until the end of the year.

The 2017/2018 bull run was pretty wild.  All those ICOs going nuts - I doubt we will see that kind of crazy hype again anytime soon.  But even without all those scammy ICOs, I can still imagine another big Bitcoin price jump happening.  If more mainstream companies and famous people and politicians keep getting on the crypto train, then boom! The FOMO will kick in hardcore and prices could easily go parabolic again. 

Im no expert though and  who really knows what will happen in this crazy market.  Mmaybe someday 10 million dollars per Bitcoin will be a thing, lol.  Hey a guy can dream right! All I know is - anything is possible.

it just needs US push of making bitcoin its strategic reserve for it to get massive increase in my opinon, what people think when first trying to diversify to bitcoin is legitimacy, if US is doing that, then legitimacy will automatically come for people who doubted.
as of now, it seems there will be no big increase anymore like the good old days because market cap is already too high for some people, but I believe that bitcoin could be as big as gold eventually in the future. even if that's not the case, price of bitcoin can just keep going up even higher due to deflationary nature.

It is still possible to carve out Bitcoin and we will see even more extraordinary things if Bitcoin continues to be widely adopted, especially if Trump can fulfill his promises during the campaign period in the US presidential election. The bullrun at that time was indeed due to a fairly wild and successful ICO but badly in 2018/19 it became bad even almost all fraudulent ICOs became the price of bitcoin plummeted badly and some even considered crypto a fraud by means of ICO investment.

Everything is changing now and has gone through a lot like ICO/IEO/IDO --- each bullrun phase has a different trend but now that Trump continues to push bitcoin it could be that some institutions and politicians will FOMO on bitcoin this is what triggered the bitcoin surge again.

There is nothing wrong with this, but positive news will come more.

If you believe and think that only bitcoin reserves can help bitcoin increase strongly then I think you should prepare a backup plan for the opposite situation. I don't think a bitcoin reserve plan will be initiated or proposed, let alone become a reality this year.
Trump won't spend much time in the early days focusing on bitcoin, it's not a top priority for him and we saw that clearly during the election. We should not set our expectations too high.

Everyone is predicting bitcoin will surpass gold but when will that happen? 10 years or 100 years? I don't think we can wait until that day.

Limited supply is an advantage but not enough for bitcoin to grow and surpass gold. I am more concerned about the demand for bitcoin but I don't think the demand for bitcoin will surpass gold because gold has more applications in our lives.
