Interesting find, Michael! The shift from "Bitmoney" to "Bitcoin" shows how branding matters, and "Bitcoin" definitely became iconic. Thanks for sharing!

The real bit money was the old gold coins, that the old prospectors bit to see if it would accept teeth marks. Odds were that if it was soft enough that they could leave their teeth-marks in it, then it was real gold.

Well I do think the name Bitcoin does sound much better for us. I think it it makes it sound more valuable and more like it can relate to technology. Bitmoney just does not sound as good for me.  It is about how you brand it and then market it.
