Hello, everyone! I’m trying to remember a site from the 2016/2017/2018 period when I was starting out in crypto. I was pretty young back then and decided to mine some crypto for a few weeks. I clearly remember the "screen" of this site, but I can't figure out which one it was. I remember I found it randomly through Google and, after registering, I started mining Satoshi and BTC.

The website had a dark grey color scheme with some graphics (though, to be honest, a lot of crypto sites back then had similar aesthetics). I can’t quite describe the layout or how it looked in my head, but I distinctly remember mining Satoshi and BTC.

Any ideas what site this might have been?

The thing is, even if the site was genuine and somehow mined something using your GPU or CPU, chances are pretty slim that the site would still be online and that you could somehow access the mined coins. I asked ChatGPT if it could recommend something from that period based on the information you provided, and it said that BitcoinPlus.com fits the description. The URL now directs to a different site. Try and check old records on Wayback Machine if that was the one you used.

Maybe better to research each cloudmining site exist for year 2016 up to 2018 and maybe you can find the site you are searching for. Also I don't know what's your intention but most likely you want to check if there's still Bitcoins in your account right? But I think even if yes provably that you cannot withdraw it since most of cloudmining sites scam a lot of people. So provably  there's nothing to recover and provably that the site you are seeking is already been down. But try your luck searching it and maybe you would find the site and see what you can do.

Crypto mining site? Is this what you mean where cloud mining is because if I'm not mistaken at that time cloud mining was rampant, right? Even though I didn't experience it, there have been many stories here about cloud mining scams.

Now I don't know if the others as said above miners use GPU and CPU but I don't think this is possible on the website because it works differently (sorry if wrong).
But do you want to start mining like the old days again? I don't think satoshi mining is worth it anymore.

How exactly do you mine on the particular site besides it’s pretty much going to be a scam and if not then it will be a tiny amount worth of Bitcoin since you you said you mined in Sats.
Hence, the year was 2016~2018 and ASICs(Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) was already introduced since 2013… so even at that moment(2016+) I don’t think you can mine a reasonable amount of bitcoin using GPU due to the difficulty then(around 250M+)… now comparing it to a site .

Assuming the website is real. Footing the price of Bitcoin now the chance of you getting back the mined Satoshi and BTC is impossible because the team involved would keep it to themselves while they shut down their services.
This reminds me of the year Solana had their airdrop, in which I participated and had thousands of Solana tokens on the airdrop website but the conversion was 1 USD, and looking at the price of Solana, I wish I had withdrawn the token then.

This is the reason why it is not good to keep or have crypto on the platform where you're not the holder of the deposit wallet private key or seed phrase.

Isn't that a nicehash? Or maybe Cryptotab, which is one of the browser extensions that acts as mining BTC, but in truth it isn't mining BTC.
However, since you mentioned the site's grey background, I do not believe any of those I mentioned use those color schemes.

How about the list of mining pools? Have you checked them? Maybe one of the BTC mining pools is what you talking about; check them from this link below

It is impossible to give you a website from just its visual description. Don't you remember the domain name or at least the name of the service?

At any case, "Web mining" (better known as cloud mining) is usually not legit and is just ran as a scam by many people who would like to take the money that you pay them to "order mining equipment". So the money never existed either.

You know a friend of my was also mining bitcoin at the early stage when bitcoin has no value according to what he told me that he mined up to 4BTC in that platform, you know as at then he never knew bitcoin has a very good potential in the future. he was actually thinking that maybe is one of those shitcoin then he started using it to play online casino he told me that after playing the casino that he still have like 2BTC in his wallet, but the problem is that he can't even indicate the logo of the platform all he could remember is just the 2BTC that is in the wallet.

 though I don't blame him for that because he was mining for free he was not ask to pay for any equipment, I think this was the reason why he didn't take it very serous. how am I even sure if the site is real, because most of this mining site that allow their users to mine for free I think most of those site happens to be scam.

Some years back, there were a lot of platforms that offered cloud mining because people were still new to cryptocurrencies and most of them thought it's possible for them to mine cryptocurrencies this way, and some of those websites even used to pay their customers in the initial stage, but soon enough, people realized that these platforms are useless. Even if they aren't scamming their customers directly, they don't provide you with any profit because it takes too much time for you to even get ROI.

You can barely find any cloud mining websites these days because scammers realized that the business model is obsolete and people now understand that they can't mine any cryptocurrencies this way and if a platform is promising good returns by saying that they help you mine cryptocurrencies, people understand it is a scam.

We have become smarter over time, gladly.

It would be interesting to find that website, but it will bevery difficult with so little information about it. I see some links posted above, but I think that this website is already offline as it already lot of time passed and most likely that they already turned into scam. So, only way to find is going through archives.
Or maybe you can try going through your email and try to find signup email message or some promotional spam that they were sending.

No, you're not. It is alright though. 
We all make mistakes when we don't have the right knowledge and understanding about how things work. I also learned the hard way and lost a lot of Bitcoin, which I always wish I had now whenever I think about the benefit I will get if I choose to hold the BTC in a self-custodial wallet rather than trust a stranger or platform.

The most important thing now is looking forward to the future, never letting every opportunity pass you by, making good use of the market's benefits, improving oneself, and doing something that will benefit the crypto community.

You said to yourself that there's nothing for me to recover and from the record 98% of all cloud mining websites are scams because their investment strategy to to trap their user investment forever. Besides, we are talking about 6-9 years ago and most of the cloud mining websites have rug pull.

Im not sure if someone already said this, but did you look through your old emails?  If you didnt use temporary addresses, maybe dig through your inboxes from back then.  Could find some kinda promo or welcome message that will tell you what site it was.  That way you can get into your account again if the site is still kicking. But I doubt it.

I understand your desire to find the satoshi that was mined a few years ago, as it should be a lot of money now. But all such sites are no longer working, and the satoshi that was mined by the participants has long since migrated to the pockets of the owners of these services.
