It appears that this strengthens the Ethereum killer season 2 storyline that has been again speculated by some people in this forum. It also appears that the created weaknesses of Ethereum is not caused by the technical inconveniences of the network. This might be from the weakness of the leadership of the Ethereum Foundation.

There are already .ETH influencers on social media that have removed .ETH from their names. This is very headshaking because this is their most loyal followers in the community.

In any case, what blockchain will be the real Ethereum killer? The answer for much of the people might be Solana. But there should be other blockchains that might chase no.2 after bitcoin. What are these other blockchains?

Ethereum's future has been under a microscope recently amid widespread criticism over the project's roadmap and governance.

Writing on X today, founding member Anthony DOnofrio called for changes in leadership at the Ethereum Foundation, which supports the blockchain's development.

"To ensure its future, the Ethereum Foundation must transform itself from a reactive institution into a proactive visionary force," he says.

One thing I don’t like about ETH is the constant delay in upgrades. I’m not so familiar with how they manage things internally, but as a regular user, I just want to see upgrades that deliver cheaper and faster transactions. If ETH ever falls, the only coin I can think of taking its place is Solana. It’s been getting some hype lately, especially with $TRUMP coin, so it might have a good year if ETH really stumbles.

What I do not like about ethereum is how centralized it is. I read recently like a day ago that Vitalik Buterin calls for change in leadership and one of the core developers, Eric Conner left.

Everything Vitalik Buterin wants to achieve has been easily achieved.

Delay in upgrades is better than an upgrade that is vulnerable. But what I noticed is that anytime there is an upgrade, the price of ethereum will be increasing. I remember how this was in their ethereum 2.0 that people were optimistic about. But probably it might be kind of different this time.

It might be a huge setback for ETH, but not for the entire market. You know how investors are, they’ll just move their funds to other coins with strong potential, which will boost those coins instead. If this worst-case scenario happens, I think the altcoins that stand to benefit the most would be BNB and SOL, as people tend to panic and look for the next big thing. (I'm kinda hoping TRON would benefit as well as I have been holding this shit for a while).

It says there is politics in the foundation where a leader has been removed by unknown individuals and although Donofrio said he knew these people, why has he not mentioned them in this article?

This article is very timely when we expect there is a bull market to come, this is sort of a fud for the market. But I hope this is just to remind the foundation to get back to it's decentralisation goals.

There were people from the bitcoin community during 2016 that were declaring that Vitalik is a scammer and that he is creating these very complicated and very technical roadmaps to confuse everyone on purpose. I was not certain on these accusations, however, it appears those bitcoiners might appear to become more correct in their declaration if they continue to be slow on upgrades.

There was also the mention of Vitalik's quantum mining scam from this old article.

According to an archived post from Gregory Maxwell, Buterin was collecting investments from people to fund the creation of this computer program. However, Maxwell strongly feels this was nothing more than an attempt to fund vaporware. In fact, a post on Qntra refers to his idea for this computer program as “a quantum computer simulation scam”.

And it's probably because the community is too tired of Ethereum, a supposedly the killer of Bitcoin, remember that year in 2018 wherein they say that they are going to flip it? I think that alone shows how people in the Ethereum market or the community itself has been trying to scam everyone.

As it didn't happen and obviously by now Ethereum has a lot of competition so Bitcoin is less likely they see as a threat. In any case, they could have been exposed already, lost some of their influential personalities and up to know is still way below it's ATH while Bitcoin has several times already just for the start of this year.

Not that we have against Ethereum supporter here, but it seems the numbers are going down.

expect the shift, right now, ETH has been going down from time to time in ETH/SOL pair. IMHO, probably SUI beside solana but since solana is being used for many things including trump meme release anyway, and the US first crypto proposal, pretty obvious it will be solana that overtake ETH.

The moment a cryptocurrency surpasses Ethereum in the second place in terms of market cap is the moment when interest in Ethereum will start to wane and after that we will need about 4-8 years to see Ethereum move away in terms of market cap.

Currently the closest competitor needs about $200 billion which is a large number for coins that have already been pumped like Solana and XRP so nothing will change in the next two years but unless Ethereum succeeds in attracting more investments it will give up the number 2 position.

Offhand to me I think likely the only thing I'd be looking to Ethereum for would be security?

But first question with that would be is it more secure than a contracts layer that uses bitcoin for its security?

We are just speculating on the shaking water, essentially.
I do not think much time is needed to see anyone flipping ETH in the near future.
It's still one of the biggest ecos out there and it won't go down without a fight, imo.

The Ethereum Foundation Has Lost Its Way this might one of the reason why Ethereum didn't touch its previous All time high I mean if you take a look other altcoin like XRP BNB TRX or Solana that act as a rival for eth layer 1 they already break their previous all time high even create a new all time high.

Im still holding eth for staking purpose for airdrop but I don't know ETH should fight, the EVM chain is the best in my opinion one code and you can pretty much deploy in other layer 2 chain. But like you guys know that ETH L2 is all over the place making eth like an old grandpa  Cry but this is should not be like this

Some say that Ethereum is very stagnant now, even though Bitcoin has shown ATH several times in the market, but ETH seems to have no movement that is different from ETH.
However, for me, ETH is still a sleeping giant.

That's why I'm saving it in my wallet anyway. Because I still believe that one day ETH will suddenly take a performance at a time that most people
won't expect for sure in the end.

Yes, it is very natural that at this time Ethereum does not have much price increase because there may be problems in it, I have heard that Vitalik said that he had been wrong to follow the previous political sentiment and he would eliminate him back to focus more on network development, and What is always a problem with Ethereum is the cost of network that is quickly congested and makes it very difficult for us to make transactions if the cost is very expensive.

The departure of Anthony D'NoFrio is certainly a blow and this is very questioned with what's with the Ethereum Foundation, is there an internal problem that we don't know and make a series of arrogance to some of the people in it, we might see the latest news about what really happened.

(I'm kinda hoping TRON would benefit as well as I have been holding this shit for a while).
people definitely moving over to solana right now, seeing how solana growth has been going so far.
ethereum really need to do something to not let the coin got overtaken by solana at some point, for solana its like miracle happening from trump meme release in their chain to it being considered by the US which has successfully gives a good sentiment to the coin overall.

Im still holding eth for staking purpose for airdrop but I don't know ETH should fight, the EVM chain is the best in my opinion one code and you can pretty much deploy in other layer 2 chain. But like you guys know that ETH L2 is all over the place making eth like an old grandpa  Cry but this is should not be like this
there are many other chain that doesn't use EVM starting to integrate itself with EVM through L2 interoperability, I pretty much think that EVM or not, in the future, path will be engine agnostic, but we'll see and yes, L2 just feels all over the place for ETH, maybe will be the same for solana as well in the future. but solana doesn't even need L2 in the first place to scale.

If a project is so centralized that its future and survival depends on a "leadership" then it is categorized as a shitcoin already and it never had any futures to begin with. But we already knew that already, ethereum has always been a shitcoin, a centralized platform with lots of bugs and security flaws (one of which was DAO mess that was never fixed) and a mutable blockchain they can roll back at any time.

I should also mention that the only reason why this shitcoin has not been replaced is two things.
First is the millions of dollars the centralized entity got from selling a small portion of their 70+ million premined ethers, which they used to pump this shitcoin and keep it on top.

And second is the fact that the alternatives are not rich enough to pump their shitcoins similar to ether and also they don't offer solutions that are better enough compared to ethereum to be able to come in and replace it.
Not to mention that the utility such platforms offer is not a useful one! People create tokens to rip other people off and become rich. You can do that in an already hyped up platform like ethereum not something up and coming that people don't the same attention to.

No this is not only the bitcoin community. If you read the article it is a very famous bitcoin developer that have said that Vitalik was collecting funds for his vaporware scam according to the developer. I am afraid that this news might be used as a tactic to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt by the members of the Solana community. I also speculate that this might cause a storyline to be created that Solana should become no.2 and with more market capitalization than Ethereum.

In all of my honesty, I might have jeered at Ethereum before, however, I very much wish that they will solve the problem on their platform and scale their blockchain. I reckon the failure of Ethereum will also be the failure of the cryptospace.

I like the fact that this is happening to ethereum now, how will people lose faith if not this?  Grin Grin

When people sound like they are fed up is always the time for a turn around.
