As a reminder guys, if "synced_to_graph" in the LND says "false", then your LND node has not fully synced to the rest of the Lightning Network first. Please ensure this is done first. Connecting to LN peers (not creating channels) should help greatly with this.

It should sync to the graph after a few days at least; this requires connections to LND peers to acquire the graph state.

In case it doesn't sync by itself, you can try to convince it to sync by editing the gossip section of lnd.conf :

This was the reason why the graph was not syncing in my LND setup too.
Once I manually added peers from Amboss.space with the above setup the graph was synced in few minutes.
After some time though, the peers were disconnecting and I had to reconnect with new peers.
So may be that is something you should check @Z_MBFM

synced_to_graph is false on your Node. it is very easy to run a LND node and complete Sync to chain by connecting BitcoinCore but you have to add some nodes, this is not soo easy to match and make sync to graph is true. you can find large node from 1ML.com or Amboss.space to  completely run LND node.

You need to add peers manually, by looking for them on Amboss or 1ML.

It is different from adding channels. Peers only require a public key and a port.

There is no risk here and it is very easy to download it only through internet connection. There was a way to do this in the past, there was a bootstrap file which you could download. This was not recommended as it required trust and a malicious actor could tamper with the data. It is no longer relevant. Better alternatives are being explored these days to provide a solution that requires less data such as Utreexo but these are not yet ready for users.

What you can do today, unless I am mistaken, is copy a pruned node from a good friend and start a new wallet (it won't work with old wallets). I would not recommend downloading it from a stranger under any circumstance.
In my opinion, if you don't have the means to participate in this challenge it is better to skip it. There are good reasons why you need to download the whole blockchains, and trying to find shortcuts defeats a lot of the security that is involved in the process.

This has always been a roadblock over the years, and one of the things I hoped would solve this problem would be integrating a compact UTXO set from a certain cut-off date into Bitcoin Core. This can be done without any sort of upgrade or BIP, and it drastically reduces the amount of data necessary to download. However, this feature was never implemented. As a C++ developer, I would really like to design such a feature but it would take quite a long amount of work understandably, so I have put it off for a while.

All in all, the best way to obtain a copy of the blockchain in those areas is to take an external hard drive to a pace with unlimited WiFi, and just download (not sync) a copy of blocks/ and chainstate/ from Bitcoin Core.

I have a quick question. I have set up my LND node and tried to connect to multiple peers since it came live, but it wasn't working until I was able to connect to one peer.

I am seeing progress on the bytes received and bytes sent from that particular peer

Well usually it's normal. If your node doesn't has any channel created peers are tend to disconnect themselves from your node. You can try to connect some onion peers. I saw they tend to have keep connected on node. But also remember based on your connection/peer it can may take 24h to 48h .

You can also try to creating channel. If you create channel your node won't be empty anymore. So peers will keep connected

A few days ago I completed the Bitcoin Node challenge. I went on to try and run my first lightning node afterwards. I followed this beginner friendly tutorial by Mahiyammahi. I was having trouble connecting to peers at first and I had to manually connect to them. After a ton of research, I was finally able to make "synced_to_graph" value true!!!

A few days ago, I completed 14 days Bitcoin core challenge and then start working on LND node. But i faced some problem my Bitcoin Core was synced on local E:/ drive and I was getting error while connecting to LND node. So, I run again Bitcoin core on C:/ drive and then my LND node successfully synced. I have not turn off my laptop for past few days and I also used VPN and some peers to help with sync.
