I'm in... I like "Mystery Bounty", can I add bounty on MV? $20 for example, I will send it with buy-in. That full house still wakes up at night... I knew it was possible, but I thought it was a bluff.

does it mean you are the only one that will know who goy the mystery bounty or you got some committee or users that aware of whose assigned on that mystery bounty.

No even, I can know about mystery bounty holders before the tournament is finished. I have explained the provably fair method of assigning mystery bounty in OP (point 5 and 6).

It sounds complicated... I think it would be much better to know in advance. We know who holds the bounty and we all try to eliminate that person, and if the bounty holder wins the tournament, he keeps his bounty. The game is definitely more exciting and there can be a lot of fun & laughing...
Some still remember the first Bitcointalk poker tournaments, we had a lot of fun with these bounties.

Firstly, thanks for your proactive engagement in these community events.
Yes sure! you can add a bounty to any/many heads. mv1986 is a tough nut to crack although I admire your courage . I have to say it is a great suggestion.
There has to be some form of mystery in the tournament so that those who will get out quickly can still have hope if they knock out someone before getting knocked out themselves. I understand the process seems complicated as it is completely out of my tiny brain but it is provably fair which is the most important thing.

Once we book all the slots  (or before 2nd Feb) we will be discussing this and I will try to accommodate everyone, as I did in the last event. As you might be aware, BTC will be the primary method of payment along with other cryptos, so you do not have to worry about that.

It flatters me to know buddy that I am now part of your dreams! I knew that the full house would end the game because you put me on a straight and thought you got me with the flush. But honestly, I would have done the same as you. Can't fold the flush usually even if you know that something is cooking.

No the problem is as memehunter mentioned, we don't have a poker platform available where we can visibly apply the bounty beforehand, let alone that it gets updated every time someone knocks someone out. This is the only reasonable way it can be done. That is why it is called "mystery", because in this case you don't know which player will carry a bounty as memehunter has defined how many bounties will be distributed depending on the number of participants.

There was also a lottery at one time... I'm too lazy to search for those old topics now, Yahoo probably remembers better, he was in the organization. Those were the games. I couldn't wait for the Sunday game, the fight for points and the final table, the lotteries, the bounties, the free entries...

I just made a suggestion, but you will do what you think is best. I think you are doing something interesting, and if you keep it up, there will be all sorts of good things & games.

As I said, this only counts if the $20 are mine should I win the tournament! Many will be overly aggressively after me.


@memehunter now the more I am thinking about, should we really do the bounty split and make it mystery with the hash? Why don't we just go with a flat bounty per head? I know that some people love to go for the knockouts, but if they don't know whether they will be awarded after they got a knockout, maybe it is less fun. If someone takes the risk and has 3 knockouts to their account, but then a lottery decides whether they get anything at all, maybe that is not the best thing to do. I know that 3 knockouts give the chance for 3 mystery tickets in the hash lottery, but having it straight means in a certain hand everyone knows what's to gain from it if they decide to play the hand as well. For the poker experience itself, flat knockout bounties ($10 per head) would be better and it would be easy to verify who has how many knockouts.

I'll play but let's not use an alt coin for this tourney. I don't really like using an exchange for a small trade and losing out on the fee. Maybe you could offer multiple buy in options. Btc, Ltc, usdt or something and winners can discuss how they want paid. IDK just an idea.

Solana fee is 0.005 sol. I don’t see where you lose out on fees. Before lightning network got implemented btc had the worst fees. I think a multiple payment option choice would be the best pick.

Also, I can help with the conversion business memehunter. I can pay the winners with their pick of currencies.

No he is right. It is Bitcointalk so BTC has to be there as one of the payment options. I realized my mistake from the previous event (not swapping LTC for BTC). It is not only about fees but principles.

Of course, BTC has to be an option. But giving different currencies as options is easy and fast. I can swap any currency to BTC and help you with that. I get yahoo’s opinion on BTC as we are all BTC maxis, but I don’t want to touch my BTC stack, like I never do since how long. I use sol and usdt for these purposes.

No no, I am happy seeing that iv4n is willing to add some extra spice to the game. That's fun and he is willing to sponsor it, which is great for everyone involved.

As for the bounty per knockout, this is how it should be. It is a knockout tournament and that is where the extra incentive lies to go into a pot and try to take someone down. If we then turn all the knockouts into a lottery, the worst that can happen is that someone with 10 knockouts doesn't get a single penny and that person will probably never play a knockout tournament with us again. Knockout bounty is what it is: knock someone out and you get paid! I like it the best.

We can of course do a mystery knockout format at some point where every knockout is a ticket to a lottery, but I am not sure how many people would like that format. I am going to experiment with whatever you guys here are coming up with, but for now I think playing the standard versions attracts the most people and this is what we are after for now.

since I enjoyed playing poker with you when Betnomi was still around, I thought it can't hurt to let you all know that we will be running poker events here from time to time. The next one (after our previous heads-up tournament) will be a two table knockout tournament. The buy in is $20 ($10 prize pool + $10 knockout bounty). We are trying to set the buy-ins in a way that most people have a reasonable chance to participate. We are aware that some of you prefer higher stakes. It would be great if you drop that info here if you like higher stakes and memehunter and I could discuss whether we set up a special event for higher stakes. The more info we have, the more we can sort out to please everyone.

For the time being the OP says that there will be a mystery bounty, but this is being discussed now and it's most likely standard bounty per head. You knock someone out, you get $10.

Thank a lot, @mv1986 for finding and tagging new players.
We already have 11 sincere players (and a couple of sitting on the fence ). I want to remind everyone who has thought about giving this event a shot that it is a very profitable investment if you are a poker player.
In the last event, a 10$ buy-in resulted in almost 18x returns for 1st place, 11x for second place, and almost 7x for third place (sorry if I rounded off )
This time we already have a confirmation of a sponsor for the full event and there are bounties as well for knocking out a player. Apart from that it is a community event and if you are a regular poker player you know you cannot beat rake and guess what there is no rake at all , every single penny from the total prize pool will go straight to the winners.
I am saying this not to advertise this ( I have no reason to do that, on the contrary, if less players greater the chances ) but to grow our small poker community.
We only have 9 spots left.

I personally love mystery bounty but most people probably wouldnt love this idea. Standard bounty per head seems fine, knock a person out and you'll get 50% of your buy-in back so this will atleast encourage more players to be super aggresive when it comes to knock someone out

Besides that since this is pretty much community poker tournament ( with low interest among the other tournaments on this subforum), Im totally on the idea of giving something back to everyone that actually try to play decent poker hence standard bounty tournament seems like a better idea

I am waiting for the remaining slots to be filled (or on 2nd Feb, after that, no new participation will be entertained) after that I will try to make a consensus on the date and timing, (otherwise new participants won't get a chance to say). Royse is traveling and will be free on the 2nd of Feb. I am sure he has something interesting in his mind regarding sponsorship like last time.

Okay mate can I share my interest of participation on this one during that time? If its not filled yet, dont want to confirm without any details yet, of the buyin. But the prospect schedule fo this event will be that week also or still on hold? Got some affairs this february so wanted to make sure too that I am present.
