Don't invest more you can afford to lose

If you have done your own research and decided to invest in something, it could be wise to have your own risk management. Think about the worst case, it’s every time possible a project fails or cryptocurrency market enters a bear market.

Just to add to this, I'll say start small and grow. It doesn't matter how much you have at your disposal at the moment but don't go into something you don't have an experience on big, go small and grow. That’s very true. Speaking of scammers amongst us, there are so many of them, even some may not actually approach us as an individual, some can actually come into the forum with fake services they intend to offer to the community, and that’s why every company or individual that comes or brings their business into the forum are critically scrutinized, examined and verified before giving any positive feedback or review on the project or service, and if there be found any sort of dishonesty, they’ll surely get a negative feedback or review. So yes, there are dishonest people everywhere, that’s why newbies, in fact everyone should stay updated on the latest happenings, because that’s the only way you can avoid being outsmarted by scammer and being swindled.

Actually you're right from your point of views, many people get scammed through private messages not even only a newbie but most of top rank members is also a victim, The only way we can be scam is through what we are looking for, and I believe that it's through that most of us get scammed..

A newbie being has to be more conscious of he or her self when it come to investment, because bitcointalk community is not 100% save from scam, different people who are here has different agendas why they're here, theirs some people who will decide to pm you to deceive you to invest with them, and if the person is not smart enough it will enter into the hands of telegram scammers.

It's been awhile since I saw people crying out here as a result of being scammed through pms I think I will say people are more informed now unlike before when they will receive messages and not care to verify before involving in online investments. Anyone can be scammed not just the newbies but I think newbies easily get scammed because they are the ones that are always looking for help which is the major reasons why they get those messages and as a result of them not being well informed they are scammed by the scammers. People should learn to always do things by themselves and avoid free offers if they want to avoid becoming victims of scam.

It is very important for beginners to understand the value of bitcoin and its volatile nature.  Some beginners don't understand the volatile nature of Bitcoin and enters the market to invest with unrealistic expectations of making profit in specific timeframe. When beginners have a clear understanding of the volatility of bitcoin, knowing that the value can't be predicted,  it becomes easier to invest and not expecting profits in a short time.

The thing is that most of them were actually encourage or moved by what they see when it comes to profits in making an investment in crypto and some of these newbies get this zeal and take the bold move to make investment without even checking or making research about the entire market or what they are getting their hands into and this is what result to bad investment and sometimes falling victims to scammers.
