Is there a way to pay for a service that allows you to get your data stored in exchange of BTC and with safe encryption? I haven't been able to find such service which is impressive. It's quite disappointing the lack of services in exchange of BTC. Most people just want to hoard their BTC, which leads to lack of services, at least true, native-BTC services, not some semi-BTC thing which is basically a BTC-to-fiat conversion, KYC'd platform.
I just need a small amount of space to store documents and such, but there doesn't seem to be any way to get this done. Back then you could use proton or Tutanota to store some documents, but Tor is banned, they are randomly closing accounts, even with VPN, so I don't trust that.
So basically, I gave up and didn't find a way to backup documents in a reasonable way, that doesn't force you to get doxed first which defeats the point.

well this follows Gresham's that "bad money drives out good" in this case Bitcoin is the good money which gets hoarded and leave the market while the bad money is Fiat Hence it can be used for almost anything in the market. Well for cloud storage services that accepts Bitcoins I would say sync. Or you can try hosting services.

You're just mixing things up for yourself here, bitcoin is meant for use through a p2p network, you can choose any means which you think is more safe and secured for you base on what you want, some go through the centralized exchanges, while some uses a decentralized one and some will make use of a physical p2p exchange for their bitcoin, if you also want to make use of any bitcoin related service in a more secured and privacy manner, then learn more about bitcoin nodes, you can also make use of the blockchain technology for the any other use that may applies to what you want, just read through the applications of blockchain. I just need a small amount of space to store documents and such, but there doesn't seem to be any way to get this done. You can do that on the blockchain, learn about its technology.

I don't know if it works for you or not, but with a small Google search, I managed to find a service that offers storage services and accepts Bitcoin as payment. Here it is: Cherry ServersYou can check it out, what offers they have, whether it's secure enough for you or not, and whatnot. I didn't check much, but you can do it. Besides, you can find a bunch of these if you search in Google, or maybe even an AI model such as ChatGPT or DeepSeek can help you find some; I didn't try them for it but I'm just assuming they can help you with your search and it migth save you time. Good luck.

I haven't used it, but I know from a good friend that NordVPN offers a small amount of cloud storage and you can pay with BTC. 1The only "problem" is that since I don't have a personal experience about it, I can't really suggest it. [1] https://nordvpn.com/features/cloud-storage/

I see a couple of options in proxystore-- gift card shop found in kycnot.me. Perhaps, you can research about them as I'm neither familiar nor have used the said services personally. See: https://digitalgoods.proxysto.re/enI do have concerns about the longevity of lesser known platforms as I think bigger brands has more chances to survive. But I guess, any respectful platforms would give an ample time + issue notices in case of winding down. Personally speaking, I still prefer local storage with some sort of encryption for backing up important things.

Have you tried it yet? https://kycnot.me/?t=serviceAnd have you tried this one yet? https://www.privacytools.io/encrypted-cloud-storageFrom their list of available services with Bitcoin as a payment method, and information about KYC, you can do your own check. Not sure about accuracy of their information.

You can do that on the blockchain, learn about its technology.
Are you talking about those altcoin projects that offer stamping documents on their network? I followed one of them before but the document size is quite limited. I guess they don't want people to spam with hundreds of documents each day. Hard to trust those projects since their node is not that impressive. From their list of available services with Bitcoin as a payment method, and information about KYC, you can do your own check. Not sure about accuracy of their information.
They list Mega there which I used in the past. I'm not sure about their privacy policy now though. As far as I can recall I only registered with an e-mail and paid with Bitcoin with no issues a few years ago. CMIIW.

Is there a way to pay for a service that allows you to get your data stored in exchange of BTC and with safe encryption? I actually have not heard of any big services that is non kyc and at the same time has an option for bitcoin as payment or even only has bitcoin for payment option. I tried to search though and people seemed to have talked about this already last year. Here if you want to see https://stacker.news/items/429534but it seems like even the platforms mentioned do not have both non kyc and bitcoin as option. So, choose wisely I guess. It's quite disappointing the lack of services in exchange of BTC. Most people just want to hoard their BTC, which leads to lack of services
I actually do not think it is because of the lack of interest in spending bitcoin that leads to lack of services like this. I think big platforms just do not trust bitcoin enough to add to their options. Because I have seen platforms almost use bitcoin as a marketing strategy and to show that they are so progressive and that you can use all your bitcoins in this platform. And almost a lot of bitcoin users go try out that platform just for the sake of using their bitcoin in the platform.

I only used their free plan (20GB free storage) while also using VPN, but Mega apparently accept Bitcoin since 2014. I just need a small amount of space to store documents and such, but there doesn't seem to be any way to get this done. Back then you could use proton or Tutanota to store some documents, but Tor is banned, they are randomly closing accounts, even with VPN, so I don't trust that.
That's weird, i wonder whether it's because they attempt to stop abuse of their free plain.

Have you considered running your own cloud on your home server using Nextcloud software? It's very useful, for example you can sync your files accross all devices on your network no matter the operating system. And this setup makes it lightning-fast, with no internet ping slowdown. You can simply buy an Umbrel or even just an old Optiplex from eBay and then install the necessary items. That's weird, i wonder whether it's because they attempt to stop abuse of their free plain.
They have an onionsite so it's unlikely that's the case.

They have an onionsite so it's unlikely that's the case. I want to diversify the physical backups, so having it at the same spot is not a solution. The blocks by Protonmail and Tutanota are due to "spam" and so they randomly lock your account if you log in from an unlucky node, that is if you are able to register a new email with Tor to begin with. I will look at the links given on this thread, but probably none of them allow Tor, require doxing or other things. When I search "cloud storage" on kycnot.me nothing shows up.

Cloud storage is just a hard drive owned by someone else, so I would not trust it with any sensitive information, even if they claim to be encrypted. I remember some crypto projects worked with decentralized storage, like Storj and Sia, but I am not following what is happening with them recently. There are also some services that accepts bitcoin payment for cloud hosting, but I can't vouch for any of them: https://cryptwerk.com/companies/cloud/btc/

Does no one in this entire forum really use this service? It seems like an obvious use case of paying with BTC. Similarly to paying for a VPN subscription or so. I would like to know if someone could do a review for a service that they actually used, because im just seeing a lost of services but who knows.

Bitcoin has only been a financial program to be used for exchange of values or periodically means of making payments and only few entities and institutions accept the offers of payments otherwise community users are mostly of hoarding and trading with the exchange of fiats. The service you requested for OP is mostly available in acceptance of their native tokens while some of them may grant you privilege to convert your bitcoin to the respective platforms token to process your payment in deal of your service request. Maybe you can checkout on https://internxt.com/. They basically accepts bitcoin for their services with well privatized encryptions.

These deals look reasonable and are lifetime payments which I prefer to having to send transactions periodically, the question is, for how long have these guys been giving this service? This is the problem with lifetime payments, today they are here, tomorrow they disappear and you already did your lifetime payment and no money back. Or another classic, they randomly drop Tor support due "spam" or something like that (see Protonmail dropping support for Tor registrations basically, and even if you manage to register an account, they make you enter an alternative recovery account, and only from email providers that only work if you are doxed during registration, so basically useless now for privacy). As far as this internxt provider, when I go into the checkout window, there is no way to pay with bitcoin, it asks for either credit card or paypal, so at least on the website is not showing up.

I did some more research on this and still not convinced. I saw some testimonials of errors and uploads being cut when uploading on internxt, but others said the service is now working fine. Something I noticed is that it doesn't show the checksums of the files you upload. This is an important thing to have on mind. When you upload files on the internet, you want 100% certainty that the files were not tampered with, which means you want a record of the checksum sha-256 next to it, otherwise you wouldn't know at least until you download it again and check with a local copy.
Other services i've seen is icedrive which accepts BTC, but the problem is it's closed source, so this is a pass.
Filen.io is another one but I don't see if they accept BTC. This one looks great but they also don't have lifetime plans.
If anyone finds some other ones please comment them there.

You want service that accepts Bitcoin and keeps your data safe but it is hard to find one. There are few options but they might not be perfect. There is option is Blockstack which has storage service called Gaia that takes Bitcoin but you need to read their rules carefully. There is also Sia which lets you rent storage space from people around world but it uses different cryptocurrency means Siacoin. If you are worried about email services like Proton and Tutanota you might want to try Torguard or Mailfence which take Bitcoin and care about user privacy. Just remember to read rules and features of each service carefully before choosing one.

But im looking for a lifetime payment. I don't really want to be paying with bitcoin every month or even every year. I want a good company that will not disappear at any moment so the lifetime payment makes sense. I don't want to depend on paying every X time for a service because if you forget, or if you are not able to for whatever reason, by the time you want to access your data they will have removed it, so it's better to simply pay once and forget about it. So if anyone knows any lifetime payment services im interested. Siacoin is definitely a no. It just adds additional friction having to convert the BTC to some altcoin and then learn how that even works. I just want a reliable cloud storage that accepts BTC and doesn't require some dodgy closed source software installed.

That's a really strict requirement IMO. Some companies offer a "lifetime" option but it means as long as their company is still profitable, so there's still a chance that you'll lose your files if you never back them up. I don't think using a lifetime option as a criterion to judge how long a company will last is reliable either. If your issue is forgetting or can't extend your plan, maybe you can compromise by looking at those who offer a grace period or something similar? Not to mention most of them usually send you notice before your plan expire.
