Answering these questions would be a very difficult one for those who are still very far from retirement especially with regards to all stated fact you mentioned and while also trying to choose a figure, also consider that, op might also be talking about the forgive that you would get an be satisfied without wanting to seek for more even when presented on a platter.
Regardless, I really don’t know what will become of bitcoin by the time I get to retirement considering my age but if I’m to choose the number and be given the coin now, then I will over 30 bitcoin and just work my way to retirement without having to wait on the government or it’s related agencies.

Depending on your age, the size of your family, inflation, the country you live in and, of course, without knowing what the btc will worth in 10, 20 or 30 years, how many btc do you estimate you'll need to secure your retirement without the help of the state, private insurance or your family?

Do you think this is an achievable goal?

I'd like to have 10, but I know that's impossible, even if I have no idea what the btc will be in 10 or 20 years.

Basing up with the current lifestyle, including everything in salary of my work then here's the computation.

Rent/Mortagages - $600
Food- $300
Transportation/Gasoline- $130
Insurance- $100
Savings fund- $200
Others- $100

Total= $1440/month
Lets say for 30 years. Then, $1440 x12 x 30 =  $518,400
So with the current price of Bitcoin as of writing is $93,xxx - Then i do need up 5.553 BTC in total
but we do know that price isnt stable then it could vary but if we do speak about on point then i do say that this should be enough on which currently in line with lifestyle.

I havent been included about other stuffs with the budget above like travel, wants and others... So i would say that 10 BTC should suffice for me on the next 30 years
or lets say that on the time that i would retire.

Those who are retiring in next one or two years are in better position to answer this question, since they know there retirement date with idea of bitcoin price. But it's difficult for those people to answer this question who are retiring after 15 or more years. At the time of retirement we are old and need finances to cover our medical bills, pay children higher education and more. I can say I have 15 to 20 more years to work before getting retired and I am not sure what will be price of Bitcoin at that time. But if I am retiring in current year with Bitcoin price of 100k then for me 2 Bitcoin will be good enough to live rest of my life.

It will be difficult for anyone to answer this question because I don’t think there’s a Bitcoin that someone will have and think he can retire, I’m talking based on experience and how life is difficult for some people, even if Bitcoin price is at 100k I don’t think 2 Bitcoin will be enough for me because I don’t know what life will be tomorrow will be, although it will sound like I look greedy that is why I said 2 Bitcoin will not be enough for but what I want us to understand is that there is no limit that someone will say he is rich and he or she doesn’t need more money.

We don’t know what will happen in the next two years and we can’t see the future maybe the price of Bitcoin will reduce, at my young age I believe I have a long way to go and to make it in life is not an easy thing so I don’t think 2 Bitcoin will be enough for me.

The most important thing that you're forgetting is inflation.
Don't know what it is in your country but on the average, your cost of living will go up by at least 3% a year. You should add roughly $50 to your 1440 every year. In 10 years you're going to spend $2k for the same thing!

Taking a price of bitcoin and projecting it 30 years into the future makes no sense not only due to inflation but also the fact that if bitcoin continues to exist, in 10 years it's going to be worth at least $500k.

I think we make retirement plans based on the current economy and multiply how tough it would be in the future so that we don't set at less preparation and the get left behind when the right time comes.
We also considers our responsibilities ahead and then determines a goal to catch up with on the run of preparing for our retirement.
I have actually checked myself all round and can't think exactly how many bitcoin I will need on that race but if you ask me how many bitcoin I have ever wished, I will tell you I need that number that would still sustain my family even after I exit the earth.
But since I am venerable citizen who is even below an average earner, I will only suggest to own one which is thoughtfully achievable that would keep me up.

I thinki otherwise, we just need a calculator, the current market situation, valuation of necessity in our country and the inflation.  With my country's current situation, I can say 2 to 3 BTC is enough to cover my needs if I retire. Take note this kind of living is inclined to a middle class in my country.

We don’t know what will happen in the next two years and we can’t see the future maybe the price of Bitcoin will reduce, at my young age I believe I have a long way to go and to make it in life is not an easy thing so I don’t think 2 Bitcoin will be enough for me.

If you are somehow concerned about the future value of BTC, if you have that BTC right now, just convert it already, at least you won't have to worry about the fluctuation of Bitcoin price in the future.  But at the end of the day, the amount of BTC each of us needs for our retirement is dependent on the cost of living in the country.  So it varies from country to country.

Bitcoin will depend on a person's needs, meaning the more needs a person has, the more they spend to meet their lifestyle needs, the more Bitcoin they will need after retirement. A person will not be able to spend a day on the amount of money that it currently takes to survive in a day in the future because the prices of goods are constantly increasing, which will lead to more spending in the future due to inflation. So, while a retired person can currently live on ten bitcoins, if compared to someone 10 years later, they will not be able to live on those ten bitcoins for the rest of their lives.

Not depending on the government or any of their agencies is one of the benefits of bitcoin. Especially in a country like mine where the system is extremely inefficient and unorganized. It will take such a long time for anyone to get the benefits they deserve from the government. There are so many inconveniences that you have to go through first to claim anything from the government and while it is our right to take that, it can be helpful if we had another alternative in which that is bitcoin.

If one is enough for most of us then I think that we're hoping for these prices of Bitcoin to shoot for the next years to come. We don't know when but the time will come for these prices.

$1M
$5M
$10M

So with these prices, 1 BTC is enough for retirement.

I think the main point that has not been talked a lot is that each country and city, as well as lifestyles are going to change this number dramatically.

One person might be living happily with 1BTC, whereas another person might struggle with 10BTC.

It really depends on many factors, not only including the volatility of the price of BTC itself.

I don't think there's just one answer to this.

For me, with the expectation that the prices of products and services would continue to rise as well as the value of bitcoin, for a person retiring, who would no longer invest, 15BTC would be enough to leave a comfortable life for about 30years

For someone that wants to leave legacies for the family, 25BTC would go a long way maintaining the comfort of the family for a while after your demise.
That is, about 10BTC would go into investment to yield great fortune for the livelihood of the family

One can't really answer because we don't know what may happen in the future you may think a particular amount is okay for you but emergency can happen and we don't have the power to determine the kind or level of emergency that should happen to us and that is why you see the rich and wealthy still struggling to make more money, those that there retirement is still far can't answer this question because they still have a long way to go so they may get confuse but those that there retirement is close can somehow give an answer to this question but they still can't be certain.
For me I will keep accumulating and holding Bitcoin till when I feel like am okay I will not just put a target now because I still have a long way to go in life and one emergency can happen that may even eat up my emergency funds and leading me to dip hands into my Bitcoin investment we pray that should not happen.
So anyone who is saying a particular amount will be okay for him or her should remember that the future is unknown and since is unknown you can't really tell the amount of Bitcoin that can be okay for you in the future.

Imagine what will happen once even sats will be scarce - it's going to be a bloodbath there for anything BTC.

And we will be on top due to how we act now, even if we won't gather that much BTC (not much for the retirement, probably).

I am not sure how many Bitcoin I need to secure my retirement because that will depend on the cost of living here. That can change anytime so we need to adjust our money following the situation. If you think you need 5 Bitcoin, you should accumulate that Bitcoin amount before the price increase so high.

Perhaps, that is difficult to achieve it but we don't have to give up and still focus running our plan. It need time for us before we can achieve our goals but that is what we need to do.

I want to have more than 10 Bitcoin but I don't know when that will happen. I do not stop accumulating Bitcoin so far and still buying Bitcoin using my DCA plan.

Not being greedy but i think 5btc would be good, but one must take into consideration certain things like family, economy etc… one should at least be financially buoyant before making a decision of retirement but with 5btc it's a start of a new beginning

You're right. There is no bad answer to this, we're all living in places where we know the cost of living.

But someone from those expensive countries have also an idea if they should migrate elsewhere and enjoy their retirement with how much BTC they've got.

It all lies with availability of their plans and if it's in line with what they've planned of going to places that are ideal for them.

Someone can live off with 1 BTC in the future if it hits $500k to $1M as a retirement money but I wonder how much inflation have risen by that time.

This question is really difficult because it is not possible to say exactly how long we will live. Currently, the average life expectancy of a person is 70 years, let's say if I retire at 70, what will be the quality of my life at that time? Again, what will be the price of Bitcoin? In the past, we have seen Bitcoin reach 16k from 70k. If I retire 40 years from now, then it is really unknown how much Bitcoin will be. So it cannot be said that it can take any amount from 1 to 5. However, from the origin of Bitcoin, we understand that the price of Bitcoin will increase. Some are saying that Bitcoin will reach one million sometimes, it may take less than one to retire.

Depending on your age, the size of your family, inflation, the country you live in and, of course, without knowing what the btc will worth in 10, 20 or 30 years, how many btc do you estimate you'll need to secure your retirement without the help of the state, private insurance or your family?

Given that I live in a third-world country, 1 BTC could basically buy me a furnished condominium unit. Additionally, I do think that having 10 BTCs would be enough to secure my retirement. 10 BTCs would definitely go a long-way as I could go into retirement and open small-scale business with the money after liquidation.

After selling those BTCs, the money gained could also be used for travelling, enjoying life, and other recreational activities that will improve my quality of life.

In conclusion, 10 BTCs would be the perfect amount of money that could secure my retirement in the Philippines. Of course, I would accept more BTCs but 10 BTCs would be enough to live my life comfortably.

I'd like to have 10, but I know that's impossible, even if I have no idea what the btc will be in 10 or 20 years.
Maybe there is no right answer to this question. Because people are greedy by nature, they will want more than they can get. People want what they cannot get. As you said, 10 BTC will be enough for your retirement, but if you can achieve this goal, you will still want more. Then you will need more BTC. For me, if I say, I only have some fragments of Bitcoin now. So my desire now is that if I had 1 BTC, it would be enough for me. But when I have 1 BTC, I will need more. If I achieve that goal, another new goal will be created. So, in such a question, only your desire will continue to grow, although you can achieve it, but the desire will never end.
