Since 20th of January 2025 that Trump was inuagurated as the 47th president of United State of America there has been incessant deportation of immigrant from US and most of this immigrant are people that were contributing in one way or the other to labour force of US adding value to the economy by paying taxes and driving some significant businesses in the country but Trump immigration policy has turn to a nightmare to them by series of deportation without considering the value they were adding to the country. I think this deportation has created a loophole to the value that the immigrant were adding to the labour force of the country thereby making US to loss the taxes that the deportated immigrant were paying to the country which I think will directly or indirectly have a significant negative impact to US economy.

I've read figures and numbers. There are around 11 million undocumented immigrants, 8.3 million of those are in the workforce. US GDP could shrink 7.4% by 2028 if they're to be deported. Construction, hospitality, manufacturing, general services, and other industries will suffer because of this. In hospitality, for example, 1 in every 14 workers is an undocumented immigrant. These illegal immigrants contribute $4.6 billion in consumer spending, paid $96.7 billion in taxes, contributes $25.7 billion to social security, $6.4 billion to Medicare, $1.8 billion to unemployment insurance, and so on and so forth blah blah blah. The bottom line is that undocumented immigrants are important, vital, to the US economy.^[1]

So, what's their point? That undocumented immigrants can stay in their illegal status forever because they're contributing something? That they forget about legal and proper documentation because they're working and spending and whatever?

It depends on how it is going to be implemented and at what scale. If they kick out all illegal immigrants the US economy would take a big hit for sure but remember that Trump used to be US president for 4 years 8 years ago (before Biden) as well and he was chest pounding about the same issues back then as well and the scale of his actions is clear in his first term!

This time could be like the last as well. Kicking out a small portion of them to appease his cultist followers and imposing certain restrictions that won't affect the economy like the recent act that stopped allowing Ukrainian refugees into the colony.

There's nothing wrong with enforcing the law, after all, Trump only deported illegal immigrants. Sure, there might have been a temporary labor shortage, but that was just a minor hiccup. Once everyone willing to work in the USA meets the necessary requirements, the government ends up benefiting even more.

Yes, I think. I already have seen some industries come into a halt due to their employees not coming in for work, afraid of being deported or already have been. But maybe this will only highlight how much immigrants have come into the US to the point that removing them is so detrimental to their economy.

If immigrants are deported indiscriminately without any specific charges, it will not be good for the country. Many immigrants who have been in the United States for a long time have become part of various developmental works of that country. They are regularly contributing to the country's economy. If such a decision is taken suddenly, it will definitely not be good for America.

If such a decision is taken to implement any political objective, it can actually create a worse situation for the country. Since the number of immigrants in the US is not small, if such a decision is taken quickly, it will definitely have a negative impact on the US economy.

We also need to understand that every year many new immigrants illegally enter the United States of America. Especially from Mexico. Although there is no exact figure on how many illegal immigrants are in the United States of America at the moment, it is estimated that the number is much higher. The government of a country can certainly take any decision to benefit its citizens and in the long-term interest of the country. If the number of illegal immigrants continues to increase, it can be a reason for the violation of discipline in that country, due to which the governments have to take various strict decisions to control the situation.

From the statistics and numbers, you gave it is clear that these undocumented immigrants contribute greatly to the US economy. But just like you said national security is more important than economic growth. But there should be a means of identifying those with criminal records and those that are unproductive. These once should be immediately deported. While others who are law abiding and work in areas with labor shortages should be given a pathway to legalize their stay if they qualify.

Chasing them out without any plan to replace them immediately will harm the US economy. The mental health of some legal migrant whose family members or friends have been deported will be affected negatively which will result to poor performance at work.  

Trump's focus should be more on stopping further influx of the immigrants and drugs and not deportation. Undocumented immigrants in the Us can be managed.

There are two types of illegal immigrants in the USA.
1 - There are immigrants who rob, steal and earn money by committing crimes. The deportation of these people will only do good for the USA because they bring nothing good when they come to the USA.
2 - There are immigrants who are very honest and do all the hard work for pennies. These works are construction and everything associated with manual labour. It's something that no American wants to do and it's also something that these guys do very cheaply for you. If Americans would charge $100, they charge $20. America wants these illegal immigrants to keep the quality of life high for local citizens. If they deport these immigrants, then American companies should be ready to at least double the salaries and improve working conditions or their businesses will fail.

I know it was part of his plan when he ran for president, and people were aware of it. But removing such a huge number of immigrants all at once could cause businesses to struggle. Maybe their government is smarter than we think, but I'm still surprised that so many changes are already happening. All I can say is that I’m hopeful this will have a positive impact on the country, after all, that’s Trump’s main goal.

Regardless of how much someone is contributing to the economy of another country if they find out that your papers are not original or fudge documents they will automatically receive a deportation because everybody most follow the law and there is no exception, so of course a lot of people may face deportation because from the first place there staying there was not a genuine process, so actually the president is trying to wash off those individuals leaving on the country illegally and is going to be tough because no matter how long the person has stayed there they will face the law, perhaps that should teach people that the system is very active and will work with only genuine people.

They surely won't do harm for the econ situation. He stops illegal emmigration and that won't make a big gap. We have plenty of people willing to work so I don't see it like a problem.

They cannot even harm him because he is the owner of the country but he has no authority over anyone to harm anyone.  Yes, by all means, if he does something that will make the system of the country a little worse, he has the power to do so.  It is absolutely good and it is also doing good work which will benefit people.  America's economy is big enough so it will have to do a lot of work but it will cost the same so it will prefer to work slowly.  In today's era, everyone wants to work, but the problems are enough, but they should be solved.

Some immigrants are contributing to the economy by working and paying taxes. Other immigrants are "contributing" to the US economy by selling drugs and committing crimes. Do you really have to put all illegal immigrants in the same category?
The USA clearly doesn't have the capacity to deport 11 million illegal immigrants in 4 years. I'm sure that the US authorities would focus on deporting the most dangerous and useless immigrants.
Deporting tens of thousands of immigrants every month won't make or break the US economy. Some states would be more affected than others, but the US economy is going to survive the deportations.

Should be, they're pretty big in number. Does it matter by that much? Maybe temporarily. I reckon businesses that would lose their work force because their employees were immigrants would simply just hire more from local and on this part I reckon there's going to be a bit of a backlash since afaik, immigrants ask for pays way lower than your local americans. If they're forced to hire local workforce, they gotta bump up the price they pay.

This is a really large number of people, I doubt it is possible to deport all of them... or it is, but that would require a lot. I read somewhere that some South American countries are already saying that they will not take these immigrants back. So entire situation sounds a bit tricky.

Probably some compromise will be reached, any other way will make a situation really complicated for those people. Maybe they will make it easier to get work permits, or they will invent some new documents for honest people, who live honestly, work honestly, and have families.

1. Whatever undocumented immigrants contribute to the US economy documented immigrants can also contribute. The point isn't that undocumented immigrants can offer something documented immigrants cannot.

2. Undocumented immigrant workers can be replaced by legal and properly documented immigrant workers anytime. The US doesn't run out of workers. First, it has an unemployment rate of more than 4%. Second, more than half of the world dream of living and working in the US. While there is indeed a certain degree of labor shortage, the US isn't trapped in a situation in which they can only hire undocumented immigrants.

3. National security is of equal importance with economic growth and the issue of illegal immigrants doesn't put the US in a situation that they can only choose one over the other.

However, to be fair, I think the US should provide convenient channels for desirable immigrants to obtain visa or citizenship. Congress should act and provide an easy, fast, and cheap line for productive, outstanding, and valuable workers to acquire legal status.

These undocumented immigrants have also contributed to the economy of the country because they are the ones that constitute the most significant number of the Blue-collar jobs. They are the ones who carry out those menial jobs that an average American citizen will ignore. The do the laborers jobs amongst others. The problem with these undocumented immigrants is because they did not get into the country in a legitimate way and do not have their identities well captured in the database. The implications of such situations is when they commit crimes and illegalities, the government find it very difficult to profile them but when you also look at the positive side of their presence, they also contribute to the economy of the country through these jobs. I also do not necessarily think that those vaccum you mentioned above will make any significant impact on the Americans, like I said a majority of them will end up not accepting to so-called 'stoop low' to take such menial jobs for the countrymen.
