Jigawa state is one of the poorest state in Nigeria but the state government approved a budget of ₦4.8billion for 2025 Ramadan feeding programme with the intention of helping the vulnerable residents during the Ramadan.
Nigeria is facing serious economic challenges which has resulted to inflation and as such there is need for their government to think of a proactive measure that will bring empowerment and economic development in the country than embarking on program that will only have a mere momentarily benefit to the people.
Considering the present condition of the country and Jigawa state as one of the poorest state in Nigeria do you think that Jigawa state government made a wise decision for spending ₦4.8billion to feed the vulnerable citizen just for few days instead of investment the money in something that will bring sustainable development in the state which will possibly alleviate suffering among the vulnerable and improve their standard of living.

This is a typical situation of government without a foresight.  Just imagine investing this amount of money into the agricultural sector, making sure there are allot of equipments in place, purchase of seedlings amongst other necessary requirements for mass production of agricultural products and these so called vulnerable people are employed to put in their man powe in the farms. These and many more benefits are what they stand to gain as a state;
1. The level of output would be very massive,
2. He has created employment for so many of them,
3. It would be a form of internal revenue as these products would be sold.
4. There will be surplus of food in the state reducing the rate of importation of food to the state since it is produced in his state.
These and many more are things they stand to gain if these funds are put into proper use. Don't miss understand me though, I am not saying the feeling program is not a good one. I am only saying  the amount of money is huge and if put into proper use it will be of more benefits to the persons in question as it will bring about a more lasting benefits to the state as well.

What the Jigawa government has done is a good thing even if there efforts and kindness will only work or lasted for feeding the poor for few days because the rate of poverty is on that States is like all the hardship in the country is bestowed on them, it has even gotten to the extent that some of the people on that area find it difficult to see water and even if there is they would definitely go a every long distance to get it, so actually their state government shouldn't remove their hands after spending this budget on them because they need more than that to survive, though I don't no the level of empowerment that would solve it but preferably they place everyone on that state on a salary role no matter how little.

One of the major problem we have in our country us religion, so they want to use the 4.8 billion to feed the vulnerable during the Ramadan, then after the Ramadan they leave them vulnerable again, this is really funny set of leaders, why not use that money to build industries that they can work and stop them from being vulnerable to the society. the good thing is that, they've been able to identify those of them that are vulnerable, is high time they take them off the street permanently, if not in the next Ramadan, they will budget even more money to feed the so called vulnerable again, and it will be an endless circle.

In a situation whereby government only thinks of the poor and deprived people in the society at the time of festivities and inktoffers short term solution to there problems after which things goes back to normal shows how bad or system of governance is.

Considering that even if they don't spend this 4.8 billion naira on feeding, they will still spend it on some useless thing we can call this a welcome development if not, for how long will they continue feeding citizens that are able to work for themselves under a good and functional government? Of the thousands of ways available to helping your citizens, feeding them at the expense of job creation only shows how clueless you're as a leader.

Once again, do people really believe this so call 4.8Billion will be spent the right way?? Rhetorically it's impossible and  just another way of stealing money for themselves once again , all they had to do was find something to attach it to and it's annoying .
Besides, why not just creat employment opportunities with that 4.8B.. that could solve alot ? probably investing in something that will create employment for the mass of such state.. let's even say they are truthful to some extent and spent 6/10 of the money on feeding  the mass, will it be enough for a week?? The hunger will still continue but why not spend it on something to eradicate that... the answer is  it will stop them from stealing more from the country since they won't have anything to blame or attach What a country, God bless Nigeria BTW

That one of the major problems we are facing in Nigeria our leaders don't use to think before they make so certain decisions. Feeding them for a day, who will be feeding. I just see it that they want to turn them into begger because they can use this money to empower the youth or any form development that will impact the live of the youth positively nothing making to become dependent on the government for food which will not be available to them. I also see this as another means of embezzlement of funds because if care is not taken 80% of this funds will not be used for the aforementioned project

So after ramadan everyone goes back to the state of being poor and can't afford their basic needs why don't Nigerians leaders ever think of development such money could have been used for infrastructural development for the benefit of members of the community and to the state empowerment of members of the community could have been a great idea too

With all the money(allocations )they have realized within one , that is after their past Ramadan till now, how many projects have they embarked one, if you say the state is the poorest in the country, from where is the government getting the #4.8 billion to spend on 2025 Ramadan, this is how our leaders are presenting their state,as far as am concern, no state in   Nigeria is poor, it only has to do with the management of funds, and that is why they keep going back to their positions as governor's national and state house of assembly members,if the governor can pull out this amount of money for fasting, what happens to other states mainly the christian state that do not support it's members at all during their fasting, remember it is the poorest state we are talking about, what about the rich states, what do they do with their money, the few of them that are trying in their state, which is to tell you that our leaders have been enriching the pockets with the state fund, at least this one try dey do penance during fasting, make the people dem chop during this period make them get strength pray to God, if na sey make the governor dem put the money for investment for the state,dem no go do am, na no money,no money we go dey hear, imagine the amount to be spent for just thirty days and you sey the state poor, there is God ooh, at least him try bring out for chop.

How is that a good thing my dear, I'm not being religious concerning the subject matter but what would happen to the Christians in that state? Why waste such amount of money because of a religious? Is the governor going to do same during the Easter period or Christmas period as well? Those are the questions going through my head. Regardless or whether he's being onsided on religious matter or not I think that's a waste of funds and that money would been channeled into good us.
 He could use that to develop the agriculture sector of the state, which in return would create job opportunities and even combat hunger and starvation in the state, instead using it to feed them why not give them jobs to feed themselves, we all know how these politicians use means like these to syphon money and I pretty sure that a huge amount of that money would be going to the governor and his loyalists pocket while a smaller among would be used for the feeding process.
