If we should exclude Bitcoin as part of crypto then to some extent he is saying the truth.

We first have to differentiate the concept of crypto being scam from what he actually said that crypto people are criminals and for the latter, it's just a clear indication that he's making a general statement based on the experience he likely has with few crypto traders that most times pose themselves as though they have complete knowledge of the market and cannot get into loss while in reality no one can be completely knowledgeable on the volatility of the crypto market including the volatility of Bitcoin.

From the what I have read from the blog, I just believe he has no knowledge about crypto and how it works hence his out burst of ignorance.  Ordinarily, these type of comments from people like them does not worth the attention they seek because they more you give them attention, the more relevance their comments against crypto becomes. Reading your submission on the subject matter and comparing it to my personal story when I knew nothing about cryptocurrency, I totally agree with you. Many of these people who lose money in crypto lacks knowledge of how crypto market works but because they've seen or heard about few persons who made staggering profits from crypto in a very short period of time, they decided to follow suit and when things go south, they begin to label crypto as a scam investment platform.
 I held similar opinion like that of Seun Kuti after I lost my first money in crypto but instead of holding on to it, I decided to study more about crypto and now that I know better, my initial belief have changed. To invest in crypto when you have little or no knowledge about it is a very big risk that no one should engage in so you don't end up with regrets.

I think I watched the video where the musician Seun Kuti was making some funny comments about crypto investment and all I could say is this, the sister have have all the necessary information about Ponzi scheme but if you follow up the information that was passed by Seun Kuti you will believe that his sister has actually benefited from investing in shitcoins before she this incident that she lost about $50k. She was greedy not because she's not aware of the risk involved but may be she invested that amount because of the profits she was expecting to make not minding the loss that may occur that could be her only reason and I hope she learns in a hard way not to invest in shitcoins with huge amounts of money like she did in this one.
