The permission of owning more than one account

I read in the help desk here in the forum that the platform allows users with multiple accounts but on warned not to cheat with it.
But since I have moved around I have not seen users with the claim having more than one account. So what if I creat one for myself aside this one and let the forum know about it, would it be that I am the first taking this bold step? Although I don't find having more than one account necessary because technically having hold to service with one account alone when accessing the forum threads and making my own posts is being too mentally stressful to deal with especially when come across those technical threads.
On a second thought, it feels stupid having other accounts when I know numerous accounts of one user still serves the same when talked about communications with other users. But why would the forum have this permission in the first place because I think this has lead to so many dormant accounts as the user (s) of multiple accounts lather finds it useless leading to dump of the other accounts.
While some users has complained about the inaccessibility and lost of their accounts, I also think this permission of owning numerous account in the forum is the caused on carelessness of the users getting rid of their accounts and later in need to make use of it after a long time.

You won't be the only person and the first to make the bold step; some of the reasons why some have double accounts are that some have their other account just for mobile use only in case they are far from their PC, which they don't want to endanger the original account on the other device. If you really look deeply, like you said, you can see Mindtrust, Locyv with the alt, which they neutra tag to show it's truly owned by them; it's not something they hide.

The forum permits alts,  as long as you abide by the forum rules with it and not cheat with it in campaigns/reviews/bounty, and you don't merit your alt, then you're fine.

Alts are not the only reason accounts are abandoned, negative tags from DT members, neutral tags of suspicion and banning of an account can lead to it being abandoned by the owner.

Owning to your alts doesn't add much value to you, although it's not entirely out of place. It would only draw unnecessary attention to yourself, you are not wiser than those keeping a low profile.

You're misplacing your priorities, now you should be more concerned on learning and growing your account to better ranks and not about having alts .

It’s not written in the forum rules that it is against so you can create as many alt accounts as you want. however, your alts shouldn’t be used to take advantage of others or engage in scamming.

If one of your accounts gets tagged for scamming, the rest of your accounts will likely be tagged as well. Always remember that.

If the forum frown at alts, I have seen many accounts that were new but you will noticed they are not new the way they are posting because they know a lot about this forum. People will keep sending merits to the account as long as the account is posting helpful information.

Campaign managers do not allow alts in the same campaign but most of them do not include that they do not allow alt on their another campaign.

I have seen a campaign manager like Royse that allow people to apply with alt, but if two are taking, that the person should withdraw one account.

Who tells you that ranked members disclosed their alt? No evidence. It is the only the ones that you see that you know.

What that is important is to avoid posting low quality posts and also avoid spamming. Keep to the rules and do not cheat or attempt to scam someone with the alt. Use it for the benefits of this forum.

I ever read theymos said you're allowed to have alt accounts with different characters, like if the main account is a nice and friendly user, you're allowed to being aggressive and become a public enemy in your alt account.

You can also voice your opinion using your alt account without make your main account in danger/at risk.

You just sounded like one who is guilty of what Mia said, using your alt to cheat at bounties, signature campaigns and what not. If not why attack the user if it's not something that happens? Sometimes it's difficult to accept the truth for what it is. You're literally new on this platform and may not know the happenings around here _{except you're an alt of an existing account} .
 Alts are free to exist but where there will be forum police gunning for you is when you break the rules .

Of course, everything takes place, but the question is why: Why is this necessary? If a person has several personalities on the forum, this will, as the OP wrote, negatively affect his psyche. Split personality, talking to himself, everything suggests that offline such a person lacks attention, and he compensates for his "importance" on the forum.

Follow his activity. He is cowardly and not a newbie, but always appears at the moment when it is possible to "peck" someone on the sly. Such people take advantage of the privileges of allowing alternative accounts because they are weak in reality to be cheeky and picky from their "safe-obedient" other accounts.

Trust me, I can easily tell that some accounts are alts. But no evidence that can make people consider my observation to be correct.

Almost all successful posters on this forum have alts. Despite that LoyceV did not join campaign with his alts, he still find it difficult to be on this forum without having alts.

But most of the alts are in campaigns. Believe me. Campaign managers are not against them if they obey the rules by not being in the same campaign with alt but using the alt to post very good.

I don't mind allowing more than one account, but I would limit it to a maximum of two accounts. I think a person can have two accounts because in the second one he expresses political opinions that he does not express in the first one, as in the typical example of theymos. Also if it is to monetize them, since signature campaigns are allowed and give a lot of life to the forum it seems to me that a person can have two accounts and monetize them by bringing constructiveness and quality to the forum. But the cases of many accounts that have been discovered are always linked to farms, merit exchanges and breaking the rules in general. It seems absurd to me that one person is allowed to have 5, 10 or 1,000 accounts.

Yeah, but do you realize that you are the exception and not the norm? I was speaking hypothetically about what I would do but I highly doubt theymos would make any changes regarding having alts.

In that hypothetical case, in which I would be the one in charge of the forum, I would put two accounts maximum and for justified cases I could grant more. But this is very hypothetical, let's see how you prevent people from making multiple accounts if they connect with Tor, for example.
