Online scam is becoming more popular everyday, people are being scammed of there money and crypto coin, there are different types of online scam and is good we know them so we can be at alert always.

1. Investment scamming: a scammer will tell someone that there's an investment available which there's little or no risk involved and one will get his return in Bitcoin, they make it real and some set of people who always love quick success accept and they get scammed, they may also introduce to you fraudulent mining operations so let's be careful.

2. Phishing scamming: Fraudulent exchange or wallet mimic real cryptocurrency exchanges or wallets to steal users' private keys or login details, I know some set of people may have fallen victim for this one needs to check well before accepting any message or link.


3. Ponzi schemes scam: In a Ponzi scheme they will tell you to start an investment with them and you will be paid weekly or monthly, they use early inventors money to pay the other investors and before the new investors date of payment will be due they have made a lot of money and they will vanish.

4. Impersonation Scam: Scammers pose as celebrities, influencers, or companies offering money giveaways,victims will be asked to send money with the promise of receiving more money in return, a friend of mine has fallen victim to this, someone impersonated Elon musk and told him his doing a giveaway he did a fake video call with my friend and told him to first of all send money to a particular account using Bitcoin and his going to send him 10 time's the money his sent.

6. Love Scam: scammers develop online relationships and romance and then request payments for fake emergencies such as sickness, accident, gun shot and many other things.

7. Airdrop scam: those of you that are doing airdrops be very careful don't connect those airdrop to the wallet you are using to accumulate Bitcoin because if you do you have given them access to your wallet and they can withdraw your Bitcoin.

Apart from investing in the wrong asset that was a rug pool  i don't think any crypto enthusiast should for cheap random scam online. Just as the user above had said, these things are no longer new, especially to those of us on this forum, as they've been several threads created just to lay emphasis on this issue, so even if some users didn't see this particular thread, then they must have come across it sometime before now. That aside. Scams like these still exist and people still fall for them till today.

Ignorance like the user above had said, and greed, are part of what makes some people fall victim to such scams.
There are certain things that just sounds too good to be true, especially when it comes to impersonation. How in the world will Elon musk or other popular figure ask you for 10usdt.
There are some scams that don't even make any sense, but greed and ignorance has eaten so many people that wants to make a fortune overnight.

This is new but similar to scams that I have heard of. I remember a lady from a country in the Middle East got tricked into a scam by forming a friendship bond over three months or so. The scammer started chatting with the victim casually, talking about normal things that friends talk about, and they eventually got very close as friends. The victim didn't even realize what was happening until the game was finally played.

After a few months of staying in regular contact and gossiping like best friends, the scammer played the trick by telling the lady about a very lucrative investment opportunity that he had found, which, according to him, could bring good profit to her. He was already aware that the lady had some savings, maybe around $700k or something, so he convinced her to invest with this exchange or the platform he suggested. The lady thought he is a friend and is giving a good suggestion, so she fell for it.

The scammer ran away with $700k or something of the lady's life savings. She was a single mother and worked really hard to accumulate that sum. I felt extremely sad after reading her story.

The point is, people you find online can't be your friends, even if they act like they care about you, the reality is usually different.

You are absolutely correct that is the real truth about it, because just like as you mentioned all this things have been in existence and we keep on advising them everytime but still people don't want to hear. Just because of greediness, they always like quick profits without realizing the risks involved. I fully understand why you are worried about scams on Telegram. It is surprising how many people still get tricked by these fake schemes even though there are many warnings and signs that something is not right. Scammers are good at making people believe their lies and false promises which gets people into trouble because they have only this work and they only think on it. Of the 7 points you mentioned above, what I see a lot of is Phishing Scam (Number 2), this scam is very dangerous, because basically this phishing scam is a method of imitation or pretending, either pretending to send an official email to potential victims, or a site that looks like the original. So this makes many people get fooled and lose important data or even assets as I said. Therefore, I also advise anyone to remain careful when doing anything, especially to newbies or beginners, and there needs to be a vigilant attitude to avoid these problems.

But it’s important to know that no celebrity will ask you to send him/her money before they’ll send you giveaway no matter the X times they promise, you should just know that this is a BIG RED FLAG 🚩 and make a U-turn in your conversation or dealings. Where it’s a big problem is when celebrities are Used to promote scam projects, cause we know most celebrities are ambassadors of this and that and when we see them post or promote these projects then it becomes more convincing. this type of investment scam is what people need to avoid... because in the current bitcoin trend, many scammers take advantage of this by offering a type of bitcoin investment that has minimal risk with a return of hundreds of percent.. and that usually targets ordinary people who do not know for sure how to invest in bitcoin and want to get rich quickly. these scammers take advantage of people's innocence by promising high returns, but in fact it is a scam.

A thread like this has been created here multiple times before, I just feel it’s just like a repetition of a thread. Since you have reminded us already, we are going to stay alert. Some newbies that have joined the forum and haven’t come across threads like this will learn, but most of the scam strategies that you mentioned are already old and are really easy to detect, but even as they are old, I am sure some people are still falling for the strategy.

If we are in the crypto space, we have to be careful, we shouldn’t think crypto space is a get-rich-quick scheme. Don’t expect quick money in crypto space, because if you are looking for quick money, then don’t be surprised that you will end up falling into the wrong hands. Don’t trust anyone you see on social media, don’t invest in coin base on what people recommend or base on the influencer that you are following, always make sure you do your research before investing.

Be careful when making use of an exchange, don’t leave your coin on exchange when making investment, and always choose a reputable exchange. Victims of scammers were scammed and lost money because they were too careless, and did not do any search at all. If they simply hold on a while, sit down, calm down and do a simple search, they can detect a scam method easily. I don't say about the elderly who were victims of scammers because they possible had issues with modern technology and could not search properly.

For victims who are young or middle aged, they're responsible for their carelessness so that they were scammed.

Scammers are the smart ones, be careful.
