He may be immortal, but that doesn't mean that technology won't develop further and something more technological will emerge. In my short life, I've seen how quickly the world can change, so I can't say that we won't see anything new. I also hope that it won't happen in the next 10 years, although it's not clear yet how AI and other technologies will develop. The world can change too quickly, so you need to keep your finger on the pulse.

Would it even be possible that the government can shutdown Bitcoin or make it centralized? I have doubt about that happening even in the future. The government are probably going to device more means to get Bitcoiners using a decentralized system where they can know each individual through their KYC details, that's why we also need to be extremely careful with KYC, but apart from that, Bitcoin can be said immortal because I see no means by which it can be shutdown.

i see what you mean and yeah, bitcoin is ridiculously hard to kill. Even if governments tried, it's not like they can delete every copy of the code or stop people from running nodes. But "immortal" is a big claim, tech is always evolving and something new could come along that outshines bitcoin. The real question is whether bitcoin will still be the go to choice in the future. Bitcoin has been around for 16 years and there are millions of people using Bitcoin if not Billion. We don't know the exact number but Bitcoin dominance proves that it is going to continue. To shutdown the Bitcoin network, all the countries will have to agree and they will have to shutdown the internet, which means internet blackout and I don't think the world can afford to do that.

Even if people invent something better than Bitcoin, then it might get more popularity than Bitcoin. But bitcoin will remain the same. It will continue to exit and it will work as long as people run nodes.

I don't think that it is immortal, there would always be an end for everything, and surely Bitcoin has already made a great contribution so it would be part of the history whenever cryptocurrency is being mentioned in the future.
I also think that the end of Bitcoin would still be too far from this generation, there is still no cryptocurrency that could replace it as the King or Top of all cryptocurrency.

The fact Bitcoin is decentralized, it can't be possible for the government to stop it. Like you do said the government might try to stop Bitcoin those close to them not to buy Bitcoin but they can not stop the whole world from adopting Bitcoin. Bitcoin is free for everyone to own when they are ready to invest. Even some government knows the benefits of Bitcoin in the future that's why they have legalize it in their country but still few developing countries I think have adopted to the Bitcoin technology yet. The fact Bitcoin always fluctuate is what makes the government not to be comfortable with it. They can not control the price of Bitcoin as they control their fiat currencies.

The adoption rate isn't what it used to be then. Bitcoin might stick around, but its price could drop as demand falls. It's like that privacy mixer, if the government bans it, most people stop using it, even if a few die-hards keep it going. Similarly, Bitcoin could end up being used mainly for transactions instead of as an investment since its value isn't expected to rise much anymore. And, many miners might lose out because the rewards won't be as valuable.

Nothing in the world is immortal for life, but there is a slight exception in the case of Bitcoin. Since it is a currency, it is directly related to economic issues, so it will take a long time to destroy it. However, if governments and central banks of different countries try to do so simultaneously, it can cause widespread damage.

The real threat is AI. We can't predict what its moves will be. Especially if it gains self-consciousness. AI can find a way to "break" into Bitcoin, rendering it completely inoperable. Fortunately, Bitcoin can make use of AI to counteract the efforts of rival AIs. The project is open source, anyways.

AI, in the form of a "chat bot", is simply a text generator.

It doesn't have a deep understanding of what's going on. It can generate text, or images, etc, but it doesn't grasp the meaning of the words, it's all based on statistical analysis.

It's a great achievement, of course, and very useful, but it's not really a sentient organism.

One key aspect is that it is always waiting for you to ask something. It doesn't have the initiative to send you a text out of the blue. There's no "life" in it.

I was mentioning the chatbot part simply becausr that is the most common form that people use AI for.

Now, in terms of what you are saying, yes, people can use AI to create a new coin. But that's useless because you still have miners hashing for Bitcoin, they won't suddenly change just because a new coin appeared.

Bitcoin created digital scarcity, which is unique. No new coin can compare to that. Bitcoin will always be unique. It will never be replaced by something different.

Whatever better thing someone makes with AI can and should be applied to Bitcoin, rendering the new coin obsolete immediately.

That's certainly true, mate. But even if all of the world's countries manage to "shutdown" the Internet, they won't be able to "destroy" Bitcoin completely. The effects will only be temporary. That is such because anyone with the source code can relaunch Bitcoin on the Internet again (or on a new global network if world governments decide to change to a new system).

To completely eradicate Bitcoin, the source code must be removed from existence. And that's impossible. Especially if someone decided to print the source code on physical paper. Not even a new tech superior to Blockchain will be able to pose a threat against Bitcoin. The pioneer cryptocurrency (BTC) will simply adopt new technologies via specific changes in the source code. It is immortal and will live on forever. Probably beyond the last Bitcoin minted (which will be by 2140).

Let's say (hypothetically) governments find a way to shut down Bitcoin or centralize the whole thing. Even if they succeed, Bitcoin will survive because of its open source nature. Meaning, anyone with the code can just re-launch BTC and restore its decentralized capabilities. Not even purging or banning GitHub (or similar) repositories will be able to destroy Bitcoin. And don't get me started on Quantum computing.

At this point, I'd say Bitcoin is immortal. Wouldn't you agree? If not, may I ask why?

The world actually cannot afford to shut down the internet permanently. It won't be possible to erase the source code from the internet or from all the computers where it was already downloaded. So, we are talking about something that is not going happen anytime soon.

If the internet shuts down, the losses would be too much to handle overall.

I  don't think the government have any business with shutting down bitcoin they actually added the intention of bringing out bitcoin, and shutting it down but everything seems different. Now it's as if the government is personally having an interest invest in bitcoin I know that it is just a matter of time before bitcoin gains more attention that it has given will make countries have intrest.

And if the government is already having intrest they will find a way that they will regulate and am sure that it will not work because they are trying to make it centralized and they are won't succeed because they will not be able centralize everything and people are already make preparations to make it there foreign currency and it is actually a good thing for bitcoin because of how influencer USA is.

Since there is no rival coin close to Bitcoin, Bitcoin will remain an immortal coin as long as it remains the king coin. If in the future a coin more popular than Bitcoin comes to the market and Bitcoin's popularity decreases, then perhaps the value of Bitcoin will decrease, but this idea is purely personal.

Yes the demand is getting higher as long as the bitcoin is showing us its true potential as a global asset. I can say that bitcoin’s era can be immortalized but of course the technology itself is not permanent, the world is evolving and there’s something will come that will be the heart of that technology and will immortalized in the future. But right now it’s safe to say that there’s a lot can happen but bitcoin has proben us it’s worth and how great it is.
