How quick will altcoins recover?

It has been a brutal few weeks for altcoins and being 100% altcoins it has hit my portfolio hard.

My portfolio is still +62% despite this big correction but it was +180% back in December.

Do we think altcoins are going to recover as quick as they crashed?

I feel we just need some good news back in the market as it has been feeling like a bear market recently.

2024 is the altseason. Do not expect altseason until the next 3 or 4 years. Some coins will increase but not in the way all of them were increasing in 2024. The increase will not also be massive like 2024.

But would you be willing to let your current portfolio of 62%+ continue to fall? Because altcoins are now experiencing a deep downward trend. Will you be able to be patient for a long time for months?

Your profits will continue to be depleted as the value continues to fall.
Altcoin cannot be predicted, when bitcoin falls just a few percent then altcoin will be like a rollercoster.

I think that the majority of us have that percentage more than a month ago when Bitcoin has hit new ATH as being followed by the majority of the altcoins in the market. But looking at what it is right now, most of us are down. If I were you, I'd look on how it actually started and the current gain that you have, it isn't bad at all right?

There have been a lot of good news to be honest. But the market didn't react the way you people want it to be. We're all waiting for the altcoin season but for how long are we going to wait? what if it did came already and it's done? I've got some alts bleeding too and mind me, I'm not even in profit with those few alts that I have but it's fine, Bitcoin is saving my portfolio.

I am happy to wait for altcoins to recover even if it means waiting a few more months but I don’t think it will take that long I think by early March Altcoins will be up more then they are now

nobody know for sure, even if bitcoin dominance suddenly falling there's no guarantee it will pump most of alts, instead it can just go to the biggest dominating alts and the new ones that came up.
just in this month alone few alts with multi billion FDV came up, the old alt more likely gonna dump, but if you hold big alts, like solana, eth, xrp, or sui, I think you will be fine.

this is why I was never fan of investing in altcoin, short lived life span, the time you realize you're too late in the altcoin game is when the altcoin never recover anymore. the problem here is, bitcoin keep staying around the range $90k - 105k doing sideways while altcoin just full bearish, imagine if bitcoin suddenly fall to $70k level, what's gonna happen. if any, it's wiser to rotate to big alt with big trading volume and hoping for recovery instead, that's exactly my plan to recover my losses.

Altcoins have not been able to grow as much as Bitcoin has this season. We have seen Bitcoin hit a new high of $19,580, but most altcoins have not been able to make much progress. But everyone is saying that the altcoin session will start soon, so let's see how altcoins can improve during that time. I also hold altcoins in my portfolio, but I am not seeing much success there.

Same bro and still keep decreasing, infact my alts is keep crashing as well everyday wherein almost 50% down already.  Perhaps we will see more correction until mid since there's still have no update about the altseason, and i don't think it will gonna happen very early this year since Bitcoin still making progress and keep coming back to its ATH.

I have feeling that market is waiting for the retailer to escape from the market first by panic selling or cutting lose, making the price so undervalued, then they'd pump it.
the entire prolonged bearish market for most of altcoin just doesn't make sense, very few liquidity rotating to these alts, instead BTC.DOM just keep going up as if the money keep going into BTC, in my opinion, it could be that these altcoin are truly reaching their final stage of life or the people with big money are cooking something up to pump the altcoin back again.

but nobody know for sure.

ETH outperformed BTC for a few days and BNB went over $700, but the trend quickly reversed and are back to trading sideways with Bitcoin outperforming altcoins slightly. Many people were hoping that Trump’s re-election would pump their bags, but that has not really materialized for altcoins.

As much as institutions would like to offer financial services directly on the blockchain, without major reforms to KYC and AML regulations they are limited by how far they can go. Tariffs and inflation concerns are also keeping investors cautious. If we see more regulatory clarity and improving sentiment around the economy, it is possible that we will start seeing billions in capital going into altcoins and taking them to new all-time highs.

I think we will at least get some new ETFs approved this year and this will be bullish to some degree for those specific coins. The most likely seems to be Solana.

I have had a few winners since Trump came in, Hbar & XRP are my current top two and XRP is making moves as i type so hopefully it can go on a run now.

I am suprised altcoins have fallen this low again, there is a lot of manipulation. Surely they cannot go much lower before the big whales start buying again, they are already at very low prices many altcoins.

Yes, that's your hope, hopefully it will happen quickly with the expected altcoin recovery.
There is still a lot of speculation about the “altcoin season” will soon arrive again in the middle of this year is actually still uncertain, but when bitcoin starts to be pumped then some altcoins will recover.
Actually I myself don't have a lot of altcoins and don't focus too much on it because it's high risk, so I won't bother if altcoins drop drastically.

What alts was that? But I think there are others too who invested on those, so you are not alone with that. It might only be normal because even BTC is also experiencing the same thing too. Alts are much fragile than in BTC, no wonder they can go down quickly like that even if the dip on BTC is not too much yet but don't worry, as long as those alts are on the good list, they will always find their way for recovery.

About the alt season, there are talks about that here in our forum. Some says it happened already last time and then some thinks it haven't yet. We can only wish though it haven't yet or if it did already then we are still hoping for a quick come back.

I know that many people are not happy with the numbers lately, but that doesn't mean that we are doing that bad neither. I can see that people are complaining about how much profit they are making, OP is literally talking about being in the plus, and yet not as plus as it used to be, so that has to be something funny to see by the stock market people. If you are in the plus, ignore how much plus you are in, just be happy with the 62% you are getting at the moment.

We are not going to get the big increase right now, because that's not what we are seeing here at the moment and because of that we should not be quick to judge the market at the moment. The market will probably go up a lot later, probably a bit more during spring, a boring and non-volatile summer, and then a huge increase during the autumn period as well. If you could wait for that then you are going to make some money, but you need to be able to wait for that period to happen first.

I think it will take at least 2 months and if the market conditions especially BTC go up. This is the risk when someone puts more hope in Altcoin which does not have a history of price resistance. SOL is one relevant example when it falls the fastest to recover. If you choose the usual and low capitalization, it is also the same as gambling. The percentage of you losing is 80% losing in all lines of time, money and investment emotions.

Before we invest we need to make sure that we have a big patience because the market is unstable, and not all the time we will earn, altcoins are not the same they have different function and they have also different market cap and different supply, so there is no way to track when the particular alt coin rise, but mostly they will rise when the market is bullish and they always follow the btc trend based on the past experience.

I don't think it's too difficult and there are lots of tutorials that explain general things like this, but there are also those who look for references from trusted and updated sources to be useful for your investment decisions. don't just rely on one source of information, compare it with other sources, then take steps and decide to enter or not. of course and this is one of the good tips to consider. Many lose if someone takes the wrong step.

The real question isn't when alts will recover, but whether your current picks will be among those that do. Not every alt gets a second season, research hard and like the Occam's razor, choose the simplest answer. Don't complicate things to much while elaborating your perspective. Btw i love defillama for some analysis.
