Just flashed that version and can confirm that it's way better. The target temperature is a nice setting, I don't think we had that before? That is kinda what I was missing. Love it Smiley Seems to be running nicely now. Running it at 600MHz and 1215 core voltage. See how that goes.

When you overclock, how do the ASICs handle that? I have years and years of experience with overclocking PC's, with custom watercooling loops and all. I'am from the early days. But I always wondered how ASICs would handle overclocking. If you enter wrong values on a PC, it will eventually become unstable and will blue screen on you. How is that with ASIC chips? Do they tend to do wrong calculations when the voltage isn't up to par? Or is that simply not the case with these chips? Kinda learning as I go, by just trying settings and watching hashrates and see if the device spits out errors, but never encountered one.

Hi everyone, I am using ESP-Miner-LVXX from https://github.com/mrbonkerz/ESP-Miner-LVXX

I tried to re-flash my luckyminer Lv08 with the firmware of v2.7.1-1.0.7, but v2.7.1-1.0.7 doesn't work.
After several attempts, I found that only v2.6.0-1.0.3 could work properly, and version v2.6.1-1.0.5 including the new version could not work properly at all.

What doesn't work ? were you still able to access the webgui? did the display still work ?
It has happened before that the config.cvs file for the LV08 was included in the LV08 factory image.
That would prevent the ASICS from getting power. In the log files you would find that condition.
If that is the case, once you have a working 2.6.0-1.0.3, just updating the www.bin & esp-miner.bin from the above github via the WIFI WEB GUI interface, would get you upgraded to 2.7.1-1.0.7

I have tried to upgrade to 2.7.1-1.0.7 using webgui, but after refreshing www.bin or esp-miner.bin, the webgui and display do not work, but the fan will run at full speed and the restart button does not work.

Using 2.6.0-1.0.3 does not work completely, and the LOG will show the following error message.

Did you power cycle after the upgrade ?
off (unplug power) - wait 3 seconds, turn it on again ?

Of course, it is completely in line with teaching practices
But it just can't work normally
It must be LV08 version. It is impossible to use LV07.

I was not referring to you but the LV08 image out on the github might have the config.cvs included for the LV07.
LV07 has 2 asics parallel to eachother on the same VR (Voltage Regulator)
vs
LV08 has 3 x 3 asics in series on 3 VR's.
The log files imo shows that the ESP32 is not able to read certain aspects of the VR because the wrong config was included.

Since the author is already involved, I will now stop communicating.

I have currently changed to version v2.6.3-TCH-302. It works fine and the LOG has no errors,
but the home screen says Power Fault Detected. Check your Power Supply.
I have checked the power supply and it is fine.
And I have also flashed ESP-Miner-LVXX V2.6.0-1.0.3 and this problem did not pop up!

Someone provided me with a backup of Lucky Miner LV08 V1.0 firmware, and I want to flash it back to the machine.

Impossible.
The TCH version is for 2 x 3 asics = 6 in total.
It can not work fully with an LV08 since it is missing support for the 3rd VR.
You would be hashing at only 66% of what it is capable of.

I found the problem!
The lack of support on the 3rd VR was due to a damaged capacitor next to it (C19), after replacing it with a new SMD capacitor it works fine again! ! !
Thanks for providing the firmware, I will try to re-flash the machine.

I'm having the some trouble with the Vreg it seems also, what SMD cap size was it?

Perhaps I'll take mine apart and take a look.

I'm having the some trouble with the Vreg it seems also, what SMD cap size was it?

Perhaps I'll take mine apart and take a look.

Code:

I don't know the SMD size, but the resistance value measured after replacement is about 9.08K
The result is obtained by measuring the same capacitor in three VR groups.
It is recommended to measure the resistance and capacitance near VR. If the values are different, there is a problem.

I'd like to order one before taking it apart....what size did you put in to replace your blown capacitor?

Edit: It looks like I have 2 vreg's down for some reason.
Does anyone know the "0,1,2" order on the board?

Ok hold on...I disassembled the unit, and reseated the 6 heatsink screws, and all seems to be ok.

The two vregs came back to full power.

Don't ask me why since they don't ground or somehow function other than to hold the board to the heatsink...but it seems to be better and hashing at 4.5th now.

I don't like fixes that don't have a measurable value, or reason why, but its working again.

Let me answer the previous question about the order first. I think the order is U1, U2, U4 (the part circled in red)

I also found similar problems! When the large heat sink is mounted, it will be very close to the three capacitors (the red boxes), so I used high temperature insulating tape to separate them before locking them.

Thanks so much for your help with this.

I'm now mildly overclocking to around 5TH with this unit and it's running so well on the 2.7.1 software.
