IMO, nutildah's thread, AI Spam Report Reference Thread is the most valuable thread as of now for the future of this wonderful forum. AI spamming is now becoming too difficult to distinguish from human caliber. Gone are the days when you can differentiate easily between an AI post and a human post by just reading and comprehending the post. I am highly confident that a lot of users are posting humanized text directly from AI and honestly, it is very difficult to stop this.
Many of you think that we are very aggressive in our approach to tagging AI spammers, but believe me, it is very much the need of the hour and if we do not guard the gates, this infection can cause severe damage to this healthy forum.
I am not against AI but against those who mindlessly post AI garbage which is very dangerous to consume.  
If you are a qualified person who can help us by making/suggesting AI detectors better or want to contribute to our fight against AI spamming please visit the thread. I see that in the near future, we will be in need of serious brainstorming there which will eventually decide what will be the nature of the relationship between AI and this wonderful forum.

Edit: Oh I forgot the most important part, why I felt the need to make a separate thread (human error ).
I want this discussion to take place in every local language board, which seems untouched by AI detectors. If you are a native speaker, please look for AI spamming and report them as well.

I think even they can humanize the AI generated text, they're likely to commit plagiarism since the sources of AI generated text are come from content who have been posted before.

That's a good point, moreover campaign managers don't even understand with the grammar and how native the poster is, they can only translate it to English in order to know the point of the post. It depends on the local users who want to report to the campaign managers or not.

While you and many worry about how to ban the use of AI, AI is already bringing about a revolution like the internet in the world out there.

To me the debate should focus on how to legitimately use AI in this forum so that it doesn't remain a cave of Australopithecus while the world moves forward but that doesn't seem to be on the table.

Months ago, a discussion about deployment of tag against AI-generated posts.

It will cost a lot of resource to scrape forum data as well as check and compare it with many data on Internet. I remember a global moderator said that doing this will require huge resources and cost, so it won't be deployed.

Should this forum ban the use of chatbots and AI entirely?

Not this post, but perhaps hilariousandco talked about tag somewhere else.

Currently there are no rules but AI posting shouldn't be allowed for people to just copy and paste responses with no effort. In certain circumstances it could be ok as long as it's quoted and noted that it's AI generated content in a similar way that another's work you are relaying should be quoted and sourced. If it's not then it's the same as plagiarism to me.

Not sure that this topic is most important one, but yeah, sad to see AI being used for bad purposes.  AI is advancing so fast, but it feels that it can do more damage than good. Why to use your brains when AI can do everything for you...

Ok, now I am getting (50-60%), why he thinks that I am licking ass .
So, nutildah and icopress distrust me and mv1986, charles-Tim and DaveF trust me. No worries, they might have their own reasons. A lot of things are making sense now which I totally ignored. I see now that when charles-tim said memehunter should be on my trust list and I was sad to see that no positive trust is showing , he actually meant this. I had a little conversation with mv1986 also about this if he allows me, I will post the screenshot where I asked about what DT means (because a lot of members were talking about it on one of the thread on reputation board)? and I thought they were paid mods . There are other things as well but lets come to the topic, and I apologize for not paying enough attention to it, I am sure there will be many other things as well that I do not yet understand.
So I am a DT now and will leave a negative trust on  'Free Market Capitalist' who accused me of ass-licking just because he feels like it. Naah! kidding  .

First I want to address the one who gave you 5 merits for your worthy post; @Igebotz,
I am sure these 5 merits have nothing to do with our last argument where you chickened out from your conversation, because this will not look good on your merit sending abilities.

If anyone can show me even a single tag of me is not good or that I have not taken due diligence before giving any of my trust feedback. I will publicly apologise and other DTs can tag me negatively.
I will be making my own trust list soon just give me some time if that is needed. I am not the one shying away from responsibility, if you have given me some duty for this forum I will do it gladly.

This pours ass leaking from the ops because I am sure that this Forum is still very friendly to AI content, but in as much as that needs to be looked at, I saw another thread around the forum today that seeks to forum second thoughts about AI acceptable content, there is no doubt that AI has some potential in this era and forum members shouldn't be left behind in such opportunities that revolve round about it, But ops have failed to intellectually make a constructive argument on why he thinks the report AI thread is the valuable thread around the forum and from his mentioning of the thread started separately in his comments makes the whole boots leaking thing very clear.

I know there are many other valuable threads/posts/topics worth mentioning. Please look at the context in which I mentioned the thread in question. The problem with fighting against AI spam (not AI) is that our tools are becoming less and less efficient. The thread already has some mechanisms in place and a team of members who are willing to go the extra mile, if more technically qualified members join, I am sure we will find an effective approach towards AI.
If we do not pay enough attention to it right now, I am afraid we might lose something very valuable.

I faced criticism before when I agree about the use of AI to help user construct a better post structure using the same thought that they want to express when replying in someone post. I’m not even suggesting to let AI create the whole post without a thought first.

I support this ideology since AI development goal is to be more human like.

I cant argue this with you, but you know what, you would have just personalized it to yourself, because what you see may be different from what others are seeing, this may applies to you and no one needs to argue that with you, but of all the forum threads since inception, this is your own most valuable thread, i think the forum rules and regulations are the first, because no one is above the law, then we may move on to Satoshi post, Hal Finney post and so on, don't take it personal, this is just m own view as well.

You're right here, but the more they are coming in, there are also developed tools in detecting for such, there is no how one can exist and not detected once verified.

Does this show that of recent times, not too many good posts are being produced. Besides, an AI generated post with good prompts will likely make a better posts than human especially if it is analysis related kind of posts that doesn't actually need human humour.

Thanks OP, but I'm happy enough having a thread that is the 16th most merited on this list (although frankly I think my Bitcoin SV scam accusation is more important -- the amount of harassment & threats I've endured over the years because of it speaks to its effectiveness in helping to curb possibly the greatest fraud perpetrated on the Bitcoin community of all time.

I use AI "legitimately" all the time, and even get merits for it. There's no need for debate: just give AI credit where its due so as not to misrepresent yourself and your abilities. Really doesn't seem like too much to ask, IMHO.

In fact I have reviewed his feedback (they are "aggressive", my style) and if I have not added him to my trust list it is for the two reasons you mention, that this account has not been on the forum for long and that he does not have a trust list.

The essence of a forum is debate, and in the same way I, who am for a positive approach to AI, have also tagged AI spammers and reported them in your thread. I guess we have a similar stance but from different points of view.

But again I still do not see my fault, apart from that I was not aware of another trust apart from which reflects on everyone's profile.

Exactly, but when you see experienced members posting AI garbage or newbies trying to farm/rank up solely using AI. You (we) need to tag them but honestly, we do not have enough awareness (especially on local boards) and our tools are also becoming less effective (sorry for repeating that but it is the crux).
I am very much aware of what AI is doing to our schools and my country's education system. Most of the graduates are not even able to write one paragraph on their own and the situation is becoming worse. I also tried to post that in your thread but it got deleted by mods;

I do not even know when I was on DT or not DT, BUT, my trust feedback has always been of the same importance since the beginning.

You seriously expect to convince someone that tagging people for using AI when all they do is copy what the AI says without quoting it is anything special? I do it myself and it has nothing of magical microscopic detail.

So my objection is that your main thesis, the one you put in the title, is false, something that has been shared by other members although for other reasons.

I don't know what you are afraid of. If you mean that the way bitcointalk works today will be replaced by a simple copy-paste of AIs, that is not going to happen. What will happen is that AI will become more and more a part of our lives and an increasingly important part of what is being written will be created by an AI, even if it is later reviewed by a human, or simply suggested, or part of the analysis.

Are you afraid of AI in medicine? If it scares you in a forum it should scare you even more in health matters, and for some years now doctors have been using AI to suggest possible diagnoses or patterns when you explain the symptoms and write them in the computer. Although the final decision is up to them.
