Society is heavy weight ground for crime and society vices but if they government of countries can available jobs and academics for students and graduate society will produce better people. People steals because they have no option other than what training they grow with.

There is no way to eliminate crime, even in the strictest countries with the harshest punishments, people still commit crimes. The best way is to educate children when they are young & try to mould them into better people from a young age. People need to have opportunities to get a good education, go to work & build a life. Where there is a lack of opportunity there will be problems.

And do you know where lacks of opportunities come from, in most of cases? corruption, specially when we talk about relatively poor countries but with enormous mineral and energy wealth. It is a minuscule group of people in power stripping the future of millions away for the sake of greed, stealing more money than they could possibly spend in three consecutive lifes.
The more corruption a country has, the more inneficient the system is to catch those who steal and misuse the people's funds, the more crime there will be within such society.

It is so easy to talk about crime and punishment against the desperate and poor, but it is not so easy to talk about punishment against those in the very top. It rarely happens.

It is highly impossible to eliminate crime , because even in the Bible there are huge of crimes committed , I can still tell that cain kill his brother Abel, so the best way is to teach them moral tell them how they should grow educate them more on how to live, already said it all but if it is to eliminate crime it is highly impossible.

To eliminate crime in this country it is not possible because even in the origin crime has been there in the Bible were brother kill brother, many things happened, the only way used to educate them on how they should live mostly living as a Christian life that will only reduce crime. But cannot eliminate it

Maybe you are from a country with a high rate of unemployment, that is why you think employment can eradicate crime. Truly, crime would be reduced if jobs were available for the youths, but it cannot be eradicated. As of January 2025, the US unemployment rate stands at 4.0%, but the crime rate in that country is 374.4 per 100,000 people.

Nigeria's high crime rate is not fueled by just unemployment. It has political, greed, religious and tribal undertones. One of the biggest causes of criminal activities is religious fanatism, and it has caused many deaths and destruction of properties.

Crime's a product of both nature and nurture, but tbh  you're way more likely to see crime in places where kids grow up with no support system and zero opportunities.
Sure, some people are just wired wrong. But most "criminals" are created by broken homes, poverty, and seeing crime as the only way forward. When your role models are hustlers instead of professionals, that shapes your whole worldview. Give love and crime will go down! Crime is product of the hate in society!!!

The best way to eliminate crime is to stop committing crimes. Bitcoiners tend to be completely oblivious to how Bitcoin has a mining algorithm that was never designed to advance science, so they are probably the ones committing crimes as well. Here are some things you can do to stop crime.

1. Refrain from beating up your wife.

2. Don't kick puppies.

3. Don't litter.

4. Make up your mind. Either legalize weed or stop smoking weed.

5. Obtain consent before having sexual intercourse.

6. Refrain from drinking alcohol while driving or operating heavy machinery.

7. If you are considering committing a crime, talk to a priest, a police officer, a therapist, or an attorney who will dissuade you from committing such a crime.*

* When talking to the cops, remember that anything you say or do can be used against you. Talking to the cops may decrease the number of crimes being committed, but it may also increase the number of crimes that people actually get in trouble for.

Organized crimes are not conducted by illiterates. At least not that I know of. So I am not particularly sure that education could really eradicate crime though it could to some extent have a positive impact on the lives of the people especially in knowing their rights as citizens of a society and demanding for those rights to be met.

But there are societies with less unemployment rate and we still see crimes been perpetrated in those societies tho it's weigh lesser compared to those with high rate of unemployment. Which makes we ponder does these yardsticks to tackling crime really function effectively in this contemporary times considering how the human being is just so unpredictable.

Crime co-exist among Humans.
Crime can't be eliminated but  can be controlled.  Even if Government provides job it won't be enough for whatsoever reason. Even graduates with Job commit crime and vices, don't have the believe that only those without formal education are crime lords, NO.

It the duty of Parents to incorporate moral values into there wards. Truth is, the life of anyone is subjective to there own decisions and choices.

And OP, people steal because they want to steal.
Moral compass of any individual is a personal journey he/she decides to explore after shown the path.
