I don't get it. They seem to be about twice as efficient as 5 S1's, but also cost twice as much. Is the efficiency really worth the extra cost? I guess so as Bitmain Tech is sold out, but can someone explains if I am missing something?

I guess it depends on your electricity cost. An S2 should draw ~900W less than 5 * S1..

AntMiner S2 SPEC:
Hash rate: 1,000GH/s
Power consumption: less than 1,100W from the wall
Power efficiency: Around 1.1Watt/GH/s

ANTMINER S1 Dual Blades Spec
Hash rate: 180 GH/s
Power consumption: about 360 W from the wall
Power efficiency:  2 W/GH/s on wall
