Looking for info on solo solar mining

What's up, gang? I did a quick search, and was unable to find satisfactory answer.

My main objective is to contribute to decentralization of Bitcoin mining, and not making money. If I end up making a few dollars a day, that's cool. Or, if I mine solo for a small chance to win a block within a few years, that's cool, too.

I am in the area with electricity cost of $0.25/kWh, not to mention I don't want 'them' to know, hence using solar is a good choice. I am guessing I could generate a few kWh/day, and I am guessing could run solo rig for a couple of hours per day.

I don't want to waste time on experimentation. Most likely, someone already knows what would be a reasonable setup. My budget is about $2000 for initial setup, and have space for around 20 sq ft for solar panels. Have small shed outside to store ASIC/battery.

Best part is that considering high price for electricity of your country and market around this miner you will get second hand for very cheap price.

Simply because sending this miner to some.places like ethiopia is too expensive compared to nits value. It cost about 500 usd to send used one and install in reliable data center .

With $2000 a small solar setup is possible but mining time will be limited. If decentralization is your goal, go for it! Just watch the sunlight efficiency, battery storage and seasonal changes.

When you said Solo solar mining what do you mean exactly? Because to me it sound like you want to solo mine Bitcoin? If yes then you should understand that solo miners don't make profits every day, it can take weeks or months before you solve a block.

If you are fine with this then you don't need power hungry Asic miners like S19pro because this miner takes over 2500watts, with your $2000 I am sorry it won't work, you will be able to power this miner when the sun is up, and when the sun is down it is over, your battery backup will die in two hours.

As a solo miner you want your miner to run non-stop around the clock, you can never know when it will hit a block. I think you should consider BTC home miners for example.

FWIW your statement is true when the solo miner have tens or hundreds of latest generation ASIC. But with single Canaan Avalon mini 3, it would take longer than human lifespan according to https://solochance.com/.

I tried using the calculator, and it shows that it would take 408 years for a miner with 37 TH/s to solve a block. Interestingly, a Bitaxe miner with 1.2 TH/s successfully solved a Bitcoin block a few days ago, which was covered in the news, and several BTC mining YouTubers created content about it.
