If Zelensky wanted peace, he could have obeyed the Minsk agreement. He had another chance of striking a deal and not losing any land in Turkey at the start of the war but he didn't wanted a peace. Today 20% of Ukraine is occupied by Russian force, Russia is advancing more. He and some European leaders are happy that more Russians are dying as if killing Russians is an achievement.
Media propaganda and brainwashing has played a vital role in this conflict. Even today a large part of people in Western Europe and USA believes its an unprovoked war to capture land of Ukraine by Russia. While if you ask to people in Asia, Africa or South America, they'd have a different view.

Minsk agreement was so flawed and wasn't followed by Russia too. And Istanbul negotiations, remember how frontline looked during these negotiations. Russians already had occupied significant part of Zaporizhia, Kherson oblasts, significantly advanced in Kharkiv direction. There was no talk about Russia leaving these regions

Peace can still make the two country to come together to start doing things that will be bringing progress and love again between the two country, I know that Zelensk is still thinking some of the properties that was destroyed in the cause of the war, which they will like to revenge. I don't think revenge always bring peace at the end, than to add more fire to the country situation, since Trump enter this issues to bring peace, I will advise Zelensk to embrace peace to let go some of the things that is hurting them not to listen to peace.
