Save to Draft interval

I noticed something recently  regarding the draft but I will like ask if the draft has a specific save to draft interval or all we have to do is click on the preview button everytime we need to save to draft.
If yes then can we have a lees time interval to accomplish this  , if a min interval would be better.
I recently lost a wall of texts due to sudden reload of the Web page, not sure what triggered it but I know it's unusual and I know there will be other members who had similar experiences, sometimes it could be an indelibrate reload of  a Web page.

This, this is only the way i think it is, as long as there's new characters you entered and hit the "Preview" button it will be saved as draft on the draft page. This is based on my experienced, and observation on how draft works.

I don't say I know everything about draft feature of the forum, but I can help you some information.

My advice to you, don't rely on forum draft feature and if you are composing your posts, do it with text composing software, app and save your drafts with them. When you feel you finish your post content, copy and past it here for posting.

It happen to me in the past where I lost a wall of text since I didn't click preview and then I accidentally close the page or reload. But, after that, whenever I want to create a long post, I edit on notepad first, then I copy the text and post in this forum.

I did this most of the time too; after I experienced one painful experience, which was when I was typing and making comments on the forum on a particular thread, I got carried away and left to attend to it. When I tried to come back to the forum, I noticed everything had been wiped out. Notepad is a lifesaver in such a case. Sometimes I wonder if it's the network or low memory that usually leads to that reload.

I think the moment you preview your post, it is automatically saved as draft, this being one way of saving a posy as draft. When you are typing your post, you will already see the statement under the post/preview buttons "click preview to save as draft". I think there are already scripts developed to autosave your posts as draft, I will check if I can find it because that should be the second way of saving a post as draft.

Reading only a topic title or the first post, then jump to reply it instantly without intention and time spent for reading previous replies, is very bad posting style. Sometimes issues were solved by previous posts/ answers and you don't no longer need to make your reply if information is only repeats of what already posted.

Read first before composing and posting.

Though everyone would have their different experience with the forum draft and other features. I personally don't use any other text app to make my post on the forum. The draft feature works fine for me, all you have to do is remember to click on the preview button when you have written a whole wall of text and don't want to loss it. The only time I use a text software is when I'm working on a translation or something that would be longer and I don't have time to finish it till another day. I could as well use the draft to save it, but I'm likely to post it mistakenly unfinished, so I just use the text software instead. Well anyone can choose what suits them best..

This incident is mostly experienced by members that uses phone gadget for posting, on clicking the preview you'll have to scroll to see how your wall of texts looks like and if you ain't careful through you could just reload the page leading to a loss of the entire wall of texts. It's an experience I had faced many times while using a phone but don't remember having it happened to me using my laptop because you get to have everything appearing on the screen.

It's painful and tiring having to rewrite same texts over again which I am recommending you use laptop if you own one. I don't subscribe to the idea from some members about having to write their post elsewhere (notepad), copy it to paste it on the typing space for posting. Using a laptop you don't need those procedures.

Basically I don't rely on the forum draft option. That's because when you type you can sometimes refresh the page mistakenly which happens the most when I make use of mobile to post. Like I mean the drag to refresh can be frustrating sometimes imagine writing a whole block of text and then you lost it with just a drag from the top.

Nevertheless I suggest you get a good note pad or text editor to make use of because that's what I actually use anytime I will be making any bulky posts of I have a couple of articles I'm working on.

That happened to me many times using mobile, while its okay on desktop since it still remain even after an accidental refresh but it is different on mobile browsers. But fortunately, i used to use the draft/preview feature so opening another app just to write a post isn't an issue to me.

Not really. I was a coder (more like my hubby,) before I joined forum and as a result It's way easy for me to write over 90% of the forum Syntax here without needing to use the buttons here.

There is no specific button to click to save writing in the draft box but the preview button is an auto save to the draft. As you click the preview button the post will automatically save in the draft for your future use and view. But if you didn't click the preview button and mistakenly the post disappeared, you can't see it in the draft.

That has been a frequent occurrence in the forum and it has been complained several times of which I'm aware that a solution has been provided for that at the point of writing this I can't find the link yet but I know either PowerGlove or Tryninja proffered a solution to the lost of walls of text because of the click to preview drafting that lost people forget to do while type long messages.

Reading the whole thread and all the replies before making a post allows you to avoid saying things such as, "I'm sure a solution is there, but I can't find it.." when the solution you are referring to has already been posted before you.

This has also happened to me on countless occasions, but I've got nothing to do about it than starting all over again, but for those that manage to preview their content before they ran into any problem, they will always have their content intact, but I've noticed this while I amkenuse of my laptop, once I launch on the browser app I use for the forum, it will immediately ask me whether to open the last page visited or not, in such case, if we close some browsers and they have this same feature enabled in them, there won't be any loss of data because a prompt will come up regarding that at every successful launch, finally, I noticed browser like brave also have something similar to this, they don't easily lose on contents like that.

The preview bar button is display the content of texts you have written in the "typing box".
It displays how the texts should be when successfully posted in the forum.
As for the draft, I don't know it usefulness in the forum because I have not been able to recover my disappeared texts with it even even when clicked it initially before the text disappearance.
The method i uses to keep my texts secured is to copy it before reviewing or posting it in case there is a breach of network or I mistakenly clicks the back button on my device.
So I can always recover it on copy and paste
