Anyone who is not ready for what comes next with gambling should not be gambling in the first place; they should avoid gambling instead of being afraid of losing the money that they have staked already, just like the OP of the thread that I mentioned above, having an unsettled mind because of the money they staked in a game, which is always what happens to him often.

I was In a group chat on WhatsApp yesterday when a member told us he won his 5 odd bet was very angry still, he said it didn't feel like a winning to him and would have been better if he had lost the bet, many of us were surprised as to who in their right senses wishes themself loses in sports betting.

I later tried to find out what actually happened and discovered the dude had only put around $0.7 on the bet and won around $3.5 (amount not enough to even buy him a snack and a bottle of bear), this was the reason he was not happy and wished the bet ended in a loss 😁.

I later in the chat asked him why didn't he bet a bigger amount of money like atleast between $20 and $50, any of this amount would have given him a nice total win amount from $100 and above, he responded saying he initially wanted to bet $15, but he was afraid of losing this money, coupled with the fact that he wasn't also sure the bet would win, and I then asked him, why is he now angry for winning a small amount of money when it's completely his fault? And what is the essence of gambling in the first place when the fear of losing money outweighs the desire to win big amount of money?

The person mentioned here is a fearful gambler and greedy because he used a very small amount of money and expected a lot of money which is never possible because with a small amount of money one should always expect a small amount of money. Perhaps he was so worried about losing money in gambling that he could not use a large amount of money for gambling due to this worry. One thing should always be remembered that I can expect more money than the amount of money I will use but I can never be greedy with a small amount of money because my capital is very small. However, if gambling is used for entertainment then that is fine and if gambling is not used for entertainment but for earning money then in that case the amount of money should be put in the bet.

Agreed, gambling should only be done by people that understands how to play the game because without knowing how to play the game, you'll be giving away money to casino owners when they're ways you could've played the game and come out not losing as frequently as you'll be losing without the knowledge of gambling. Fear and losing shouldn't be seen with someone that wants to become a gambler. You're definitely going to lose when gambling and you're not supposed to have fear in you because there's nothing that'll happen to you as there's no challenge because you'll have known how to play the game.

The thing is that losing what you can afford, isn't a gambling strategy but advice because gambling is highly addictive and can destroy your life in minutes. There are different kinds of gamblers and different strategies for different types of gambling and for sure they all play to win. But they also lose and there is no single one that he never loses and only wins. So any kind of gambler knows that from the moment he puts his money in a bet, he loses them, they are gone from his wallet. If he wins, everything works. If not, be ready for the next bet.

If his so afraid of losing why take the risk at all?
It also doesn't seems like he is gambling for fun cause it is clear that he isn't happy with the result no matter what it was.
If he wants to have enough profit to celebrate, then at least take a decent risk to earn more.
It is not like those bets small bets would give him a huge multiplier.

 Nobody wants to lose when they walk in a gambling arena and the only goal a gambler only have banging in his or her head is multiplying the money he or she came with but something gamblers do that is not suppose to be is making fear to cloud their thinking on how to approach the games they play. It is really that very evident or something obvious that this industry is really that making up some serious money or revenue on which basing up into the numbers of businesses out there flourish out like mushrooms on which this do really indicates that there is really that the demand. You can feel it more in slot games where a losing streak does happen then a win and then a losing streak again. I have been playing casino games and slots and I can tell that whenever I play long, I will just end up losing all the budget that I am prepared to lose because that's how it really works.
Unlike in sports betting, it's slower. You can just bet on times when your favorite sport is playing and place a bet that will not make you end up being broke or you can budget your money to play longer.

Quite interesting thoughts were going on in the head of the person who was not happy about winning. With such a psychology it is definitely not worth playing, because he gets irritated both when he loses and when he wins, i.e. he does not get any positive emotions from the game at all. But such people are rather an exception to the rule. Most people are still happy to win whatever they are. Bookmaker's office always shows the amount that you get in case of winning, so you immediately understand what you can claim in case of winning. And if this is not enough for you, it would be logical to bet with higher odds. This is for those who are afraid to risk substantial money. And in general, they for 5 bets can lose in total as much on the distance as for one, but large. So another way out of the situation would be to play less often, but as you like.

if this is alll he can risk in gambling then he shouldnt feel bad about his gambling outcome. i think the amount he used in playing is the amount he can afford to lose, so even if what he won his small or he never won the game i dont expect him to feel bad about it. he doing the right things and the wrong things the same time by gambling with a small amount that he can afford and still not happy because of he won a small amount of money.

if a gambler is afraid to lose money in gambling then it is better for the person not to make any attempt in gambling because it means the person cant afford to lose in gambling, so their is no need to take the risk.
