Nice script, but I don’t think it’s for me since I’ve never used it before. I already have a betting log and just use a simple spreadsheet, which works fine for me. Still, that was a great share, OP. I hope every sports bettor realizes the importance of tracking their records so they know exactly where they stand, whether they’re in profit or at a loss.

It takes just a moment to try a new thing or new way of doing something, like it and then decide to ditch the old way and go for the new way of doing that thing, most especially if there are features In the new way that makes doing that thing even much more easier than it is with the old.

So, still won't be out of place if you decide to give the script a trial since you think it's cool and you are already a type of gambler who loves to keep record of their bets.
One important feature I did love is if the script will be able to capture all my bets across all casinos automatically, also capture my wins and loses across all casinos and enter it into my log without me doing a thing 😁 like impossible since for this to work the script will need my account APIs of all the casinos I need this to work on, but still though, I am not interested in using any script and neither am I interested in keeping a betting log, i would have given the script a trial if I was a fan of keeping a betting log.

Tracking our bets is actually easy, whether by using what OP shared or just a simple spreadsheet. The real issue is whether we’re truly committed to doing it. If we gamble regularly, that also means we need to log our bets consistently to get accurate results.

Honestly, I doubt most of us here, even if we find the tool interesting, will actually apply it in real-life gambling.

It is ok if you want to track your spendings but I'm not sure if this will help someone to make better bets.

Personally, I don’t think keeping betting log is necessary. I mean what’s the point of doing so? I already have a weekly gambling budget and I know how much of my weekly or monthly income goes into gambling every week.  Maybe those who just gamble randomly and don’t really have a weekly budget may actually need it to monitor how much of their earnings go into gambling but for gamblers like me, it’s totally unnecessary.

Yes indirectly with your budget for the weekly gambling is already a log, though the log can be individual interest but generally record keeping is very important sometimes it helps to regulates one's spending on gambling as the record will definitely tells you if your on loss or profit .

Yes, it's mandatory to keep records at the early stage as that will enable the bettor track their progress. That's my modus operandi in all I do.  It's not just only in gambling is that applicable. It cuts across everything we're getting into. For me, at least a period of six months should be ideal to evaluate oneself. That way one knows of it's something that has brought one more wins (joy) or losses (sorrow) so one knows what lie to toe, going forward. This is an integral part of "planning to succeed."

No. I do not think that it's important to track, I mean it might take the fun out of gambling if you keep on the logs of his +/- daily or whenever you gamble. If you win then it's good, maybe just take your capital and spend your winnings, simple as that.

The concept of a bankroll allows for gamblers to be able to gamble as much as they can, for as long as they can without needing to deposit more and more of their money. I think it’s important even if you are just playing for fun so that you don’t end up out of budget too soon. You wouldn’t want to lose all of your budget for a week in just one day.

Or maybe if you see that you are losing money already, then it could go either way, you totally stop, which I doubt when you see your losses, and it could lead to what we call chasing what you have lost, and trying to win back and it might accumulate big that you become addicted already because you keep track of your L.

Managing a bankroll also requires great mental strength so regardless of what you see from your records you should be able to control yourself and still gamble responsibly.

If you ask me how much I’ve lost in gambling last week or this month, I may not be able to give you an accurate answer but if you ask me how much I’ve spent on gambling that same period, without a log, I may be able to give you an accurate answer. Not every gambler fancies to keep a record of their gambling losses, and I’m amongst those gamblers who feels it’s unnecessary to keep record of gambling losses, I mean what’s the point exactly? Except your gambling for profits or view gambling as a business or an investment, then you might wanna check if you’re making more profits or losses. For me that’s not the case, I don’t care to know how much I’ve lost, as long as I’m sticking to my budget. Tracking your losses could actually result to chasing them in an attempt to recover them and of course we know that this could potentially lead to even more losses.

Rather than be inspired to further manage my bankroll responsibly, I might only be disappointed and bet more and more to try lessen the losses. That would be unfortunate. This python script might be an example of how you could do it.

This is crucial especially if you have a lot of accounts in different casinos, I know that some casino give you bet slips and history of betting but when you have an account in another casino meaning you can't all of that on a single app.

I believe not everyone are similiar with the python or even programming language. I mean it would be great if you put this in the form of a website so everyone can access it/

Well, if keeping a betting log doesn’t help you, then there’s no need to force it. But for bettors who are constantly wagering and aiming for long-term consistency, any tool that helps track performance can be useful. With timely recognition of their winning rate, a gambler can easily make adjustments to improve their strategy.

However, if seeing your losses discourages you or makes you lose control, then maybe the first thing to work on is managing your emotions. At the end of the day, it’s all about what works for you, so just stick with whatever keeps you in the right mindset.

I used to do that on offline betting platforms, and I hate myself for losing a lot of money; that's enough to buy me a high-end laptop, which I have been dreaming of.
So for me to stop hating myself, I stopped tracking my losses and just learned how to move on past with all my losses. Very people beat the house; you will just become disappointed seeing the money you lose. its better to just allocate money that you are comfortable losing so you can move on without hating yourself.

Even though betting log and script are useful, I would prefer not to use it, as it kills all the fun. It will turn gambling into bookkeeping. It will turn gambling into using numbers to get numbers, and putting down numbers to form a list of numbers. Thanks but not. I already write down all expenses into app, and I keep gambling under "Entertainment" section. Dont want to make that section into even more detailed.

While yes you can just straight up post the code, I'd recommend just putting up a repo for it instead lol. Can even make it so that people can run their own instance of the python app and it's own sqlite db which I reckon is enough since it won't be that much data anyway.

Anyhow, rather than this I'd much rather all my bets be separated as they're made though. Can be through extensions or if casinos may allow API access to their match histories or something, then even better. Granted idk if the extensions one is possible since it may go against some kind of ToS for casinos.

Most casinos do that for you, sportsbook have this by default as you actually need to see the results of your placed bets from two weeks ago since sports only deal with bets put in advance, so why go through the extra step of having this all done by yourself?

Also, this might work for a single game like one type of slots play somewhere but if you're betting on sports your friend is a spreadsheet in excel, so that you can check the bets by the type and the team that has made you either win or lose money, which in my view is what most gamblers are about, and if we talk slots, then there is a simpler way to deal with that. You write down the deposit you have made and then you look at the balance available, one simple math equation and you know the results. Plus, in any type of casino game this will not help you at all, completely different thing for sports.

But I'm not interested to keep my betting log because I don't want to make myself stressed out with the money I've spent for gambling. I think when we spent money for entertainment, we shouldn't really serious because it could ruin the fun.

We might remember the amount, but it's better to forget it.
