Yes, I still use Electrum on my android phone for years and don't have a problem. I also install Unstoppable wallet to store some top 10 altcoin before I send it into exchange and take the profit.

But I don't use that android phone for daily use but only save some satoshi. I also not connect that android phone too often because I don't use that phone for chat, browsing, or others and only for storing some satoshi's and altcoin.

As long as you don't install suspicious app, your phone will be okay and you don't have to worry with anything.

I store everything related with the wallet, both Electrum and Unstoppable into a safe place and that is an offline place which only me that know.

From my personal experiences, Android is decently safe platform. I haven't installed anything not from Google Play.

I'm also here for the comments. Everyone else has been so informative.

Do not install applications from Google Play or Play Store on Android, but must be from the official source of the application.
Android is good, easy and not complicated to use, but the use of Android in installing applications such as wallets must be from official sources to anticipate things that can lose important data.

Based on experience, so far the funds I save on the wallet have not experienced obstacles such as loss and I hope forever is safe.
Even safer when using a hardware wallet.
Remember ... Not all software wallets are good to be used as wallets.

And there popular copyright apps but you just have to be very careful because I have seen similar links that are wrong, and when you are a crypto person it is even very easy for you to actually know the kind oh apps that you can make use of and we know that there are a lot of apps out there that are fake and people are always falling victim off, and if you don't know about a particular app it will be better to just make proper investigations before downloading it. Either of any platform.

I don't think have also experienced any loses and this is because there things that can be avoided so when you do the right thing by avoiding them and people that are always trading needs to be very careful thr kind of link they click on because when they want to snipe some coin especially meme and as far as you are into crypto you are clear at risk your funds and since it's not everyone that can manage there self so you have to make sure that were you downloading from so that you don't fall victim of anything.

Either of any platform.

It is very dangerous to click on the links that you get. That should be avoided.
Those of us here who have often taken the time to visit discussion boards about wallets or discussions about what is good about wallets, then the recommended wallets are wallets that have been tested by time and user experience. Electrum and bluewallet, two wallets that support Android.
Don't think otherwise, that's enough in my opinion because our goal in using a wallet is to make our assets safe.

I’ve been using crypto wallets on Android phones for several years. I’ve never had any issues with my funds. You just need to make sure to download the wallet from an official source. Also never connect your wallet to random sites or fall for tempting offers, hackers can gain access to your wallet and steal your funds.

If you follow what I just said, your funds will remain safe even on an Android phone.

If you follow the rules, you will be safe, especially when you download the wallet from the official source and not a clone one. But one thing which makes other wallets safer from mobile phone wallets is when you have your wallet connected to a device you use on a daily basis to shuffle round the internet, you can never be too sure of which link you are clicking on from search which you don't plan to, especially when one is not using an ad blocker; you can get yourself exposed unknowingly.

What I think is - it is safe for someone to create a wallet on their phone, but it is not safe for long term storage especially if the device always online. What I have done is - install the wallet, create the wallet and backup all sensitive data offline, then uninstall it. I believe this method is safe because I don't have a wallet on my phone - but when I need it I just need to install it [on the same device or another device]. But whatever it is, the risk is still there, but don't take security measures that are beyond your technical capabilities - it will have big consequences.

To be honest, I don’t think what you suggested adds much security to your wallet. In fact, it might make it even more vulnerable.
If your phone is infected with malware, all it takes is for you to open your wallet on it once for the malware to steal your funds.
Also, every time you reinstall the app and restore your wallet, you’ll have to expose your wallet seed.
While when you keep the app on your device, the wallet is stored on the device's internal storage encrypted, which I believe is safer than having to type your wallet seed every time you need to make a transaction.
I might be wrong, though!

Wallet file will be encrypted if the wallet is created using a password, and you are right,t though, it makes the chances higher but nothing is absolutely safe in a device which is connected to the internet. We can never be 100% sure that our device is free from any malware or spyware so that we can say I successfully deleted the wallet completely. what if the device screencapture and sends it to somewhere?

The safe option is to create in a mobile that won't be connected to the internet ever.

Hmmm, that's a good point to discuss!!!
You need to understand that it not about the device, it's about the stance. If you have an obstacle stance regarding through the privacy then there is no way to lose the fund, whether it's Android or IOS or blah blah. You can lose your funds only if you show any deficiency on your part. Like if you install any malware on your phone that makes you vulnerable to hackers. If you did, then apparently you can easily drain your funds at the hands of the hacker.

So it means to say that there is no hesitation in using a wallet on Android, but one should not install any such apps or APKs that allow all permissions from you and become a tool for hackers.

Although that's true, some OSs are far more vulnerable than others. Windows are by far the most vulnerable, or at least, the most attacked (targeted). This doesn't necessarily mean that Windows have the most reported vulnerabilities, because most of them, we never find out. [1]

I've used wallets in android and as well as downloaded android supported wallets from online wallets. It didn't took me a while for using them but I had no problems during that experience.

If I'm going to use them again? maybe no. I'm trying to avoid downloading and installing wallets on my smartphone. If I'm going to have such wallets, I want it stay on my desktop or laptop.

I'm not confident bringing it with me or if I do, maybe I'll fund it with a couple of hundreds only for some whatever purpose I might encounter.

If anyone has experience managing wallets on Android, tell me if your funds have disappeared some time?

Has Android system spying for private keys?

I mean on a pure Android without any installed apps excepting crypto wallets + google play
I haven't heard or seen anyone lost their assets because they used android phones. Android phones are just like every other devices out there. Ever since I started my bitcoin journey, I have always made use of android phones to store my assets and I haven't lost any of my assets before. What I will just say is that keep your phone updated, keep an eye when there is a new software upgrade from your mobile developer and update your android phone regularly.

iOS is safer then android, saying that , android is safe if you don’t click on anything or download anything. Either way I’m paranoid so I just use a cold wallet and only small amounts in hot wallets

Android is quite weak in security systems, but if you know how to maintain it, I don't think it will ever be a problem. So far I have used Elextrum and BlueWallet on Android during the use that I have done, there have never been any problems until now. There are some features that you might need to turn off if you use Android and if the use case is only a crypto wallet + Google Play, I don't think there will be a big problem.

Security must start from the way the user maintains it because hacking often occurs due to mistakes made by users and many unofficial sites are sent and then opened and in the end they succeed in hacking the Android that we use.

BTW, Electrum Android has a fee-adjustable option like ETA, From mempool and static for years, then why did you download another wallet?
Probably becuse he only started using Electrum after he got rekt by downlaoading the fake wallet. That lesson wasn't cheap either considering he lost $400 worth of bitcoin when price was around $17k.
That's really a deep loss if we consider how many $17k there's in today's price of around $96k+. That $400 should be over $2k now. Well, the deed had already been done. It's part of the learning curve for that user (and for us too). Most of us here have had one ugly experience or the other in this crypto space. It's the scar we wear.

Quote
I learned my lesson with wallets as well, as I went on phishing website and lost almost all my bitcoin that way also in 2017.
This is why you won't catch me downloading anything from random links. Never. I always wait to get links from official handles of any project I want to download its app. I'm really weary of links.

Everything related to asset storage must be like that careful and careful before installing any application. Not only wallets but also other applications, because maybe you are right when installing a wallet from an official source but if you install other apks, the risk will be the same. Because sometimes from other applications that can make your wallet hacked. So always be careful when installing something from the Google Store or Google Play.

I am a loyal android user and so far the same assets are still safe and hopefully it will continue to be so. Because basically the security of the wallet depends on its users if they are always careful it will certainly be safe but if careless even storing it in an offline wallet will be at risk of being lost.

Yep, you gotta be careful as all it takes is aocuple of minutes of not being concentrated on what you are doing to loose everything.

I know a guy who lost 100k few years ago by connecting his Metamask to a scammy website. He was in a hurry and wanted to buy some shitcoins, scammy add brought him to the fake website of altcoin project he wanted to invest in, and then second he connected his wallet, he lost everything. And this guy  is working in crypto full time and in industry since the early days, meaning he was no newbie at all.

...

Back when I didn't have hardware wallet, I used coinomi to store my funds, and to keep it safe, I would use this app called 'Net Guard' — where you can individually block access of Internet to apps and I would only allow access when using it and never used it over unsecured WiFi network.

Secondly, during creation of wallet or restoring wallet (when changing phone), I would disable mobile data/wifi and then paste the recovery phrase (coinomi allowed pasting recovery phrase offline and fetching addresses from same, other wallet apps I've come across require Internet access for some reason), then copy something else random after pasting seed phrase so clipboard doesn't retain my seed phrase.

I don't know how good that was, but must have worked out well, as funds were never drained.

I instinctively stay away from shady stuff, can't be fooled there knowingly.
