I am writing my realization from four days of continuous fever (nothing serious, recovering well). While everything in today's world wants to entertain you, you really have no time to get bored. Why boredom is important? It brings equilibrium back to your mind and body. Consider it another form of dopamine detox, although it is much more than that. My advice is to consciously get bored for a few hours a week and you will see the benefits.
One of the reasons why older generations are good at managing stress and quality of life is because of boredom they have endured throughout their life, unlike the younger generations who can change their attention just by a swap. 
I know it may sound paradoxical but next time whenever you choose to watch any Instagram/TikTok reel consider its impact on boredom, not the other way around.

Unfortunately, our bodies have adapted to work, work work, and then relaxing on social media till we are completely exhausted and have to doze off till the next day when we have to repeat the routine again and again. The older ones are from a generation that the media wasn't looked at as a part of life so it's easier for them to easily connect to nature and get some natural feeling from just relaxing on the sofa or under the tree alone with no single distraction which is the highest form of relaxation.

My own form of relaxation comes from playing soccer and doing some fitness routine which gets me really physical after which I take a serious nap.  It's been of great help to my health and though it's not a complete form of relaxation but it's the simplest way of getting out of my comfort zone and doing what really brings me calmness.

Your case was a forced boredom since you had health issues. I am grateful that you have recovered fully. I have had a few opportunities to move to some countries that have better economic conditions than mine, but after some consideration, I had to let them go. I don't want to spend all my life working without time to rest and meditate.

These days it is really difficult not to see something both online and offline that will not interest you. There will always be news, movies, documentaries, and others that will take your time even when you are not at work. The past generation lived a more fulfilled life because they had time to focus on their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. I have always dreamed of retiring early and relocating to a rural area where I will spend quality time with nature.

Ok I have to say first off I thought the OP was crazy talking about boredom in such
a positive way but I now realise i think that the OP is talking about Mindfulness
and or being in a sort of Nirvana.

Boredom - is generally viewed as a negative emotion so I doubt that the OP has used
the correct term for the topic.

it might not make sense but i completely understand what you are saying

these days even if you just had one second to spare there is always to look at or listen to, there is almost no time to just sit with your thoughts and appreciate nature and it might seem corny but in such a time where everything is fast paced appreciation of nature is so helpful to out well being

I get your point. Even to watch tiktok is contributing to waken boredom. Sometimes we need to relax our brain and let our minds go away from all the things bothering us and just have a solemn moment all by our selves, it helps for the relaxation of our mind, body and soul. Thus, creating such boredom is a way of relaxation but we shouldn't create boredom for a long time because of health issues that might develop if you are keeping that much especially older people.

Just delete all your social media or just logout of all the accounts and disable the notifications for such apps in all your devices and here you go, you will starts to get a feel like nothing is happening.

If you started to deal with after social media then it's time to cut down the streaming apps, Netflix, prime, YouTube, etc that leaves you pretty much stranded.

It is true that in life we need to seek balance. Boredom is part of the life and we need to experience it once in awhile. Where I disagreed with Op is that being bored ought to be an involuntary action. It is not something you plan or put in your to-do list. Like, on Tuesdays by 4pm, get bored.
So, we need not think about it or force it to happen, otherwise we could easily push into depression.

This advice is very skeptical. You are saying that it should be a lifestyle to intentionally get bored.
Well life is not without boredom. So when it happens one can get the best out of it but to habitually indulge in boredom sounds skeptical.

The world is currently equipped with more basic information in the digital age. We've watch alot happening in the world, the universe that use to be more peaceful have been ravaged with more wars unsafe places, all for what exactly? Technology have come to existence, it's been relatively helpful in all means of survival for human and have also been the main reason behind the massacre of people during the world War I & II.

I do dislike the fact that the presence of technology have made most of us lazy and unable to perfect or carry out a job successfully and independently without the provided aide of technology. It can be subdivided into internet which is currently broad for the universe to get easy access. You mentioned these apps, tiktok, Instagram, Reddit, X there are actually but to mention a few. They've been core reson behind the major reluctance of people especially targeting students to be unable to carry out their project work and assignments. One last question, The world we live in, have advance for the better or worst?

The older generation could be said to blessed having not had the technological knowledge and how to navigate the internet space as the present generation could seamless do now. With this ignorance it helps them to have extra time to spend resting naturally either by sleeping or just sitting quietly meditating on something beautiful about the past when they were probably young.

My advice is to consciously get bored for a few hours a week and you will see the benefits.
One of the reasons why older generations are good at managing stress and quality of life is because of boredom they have endured throughout their life, unlike the younger generations who can change their attention just by a swap. 
I know it may sound paradoxical but next time whenever you choose to watch any Instagram/TikTok reel consider its impact on boredom, not the other way around.
Good to know that you are recovering from the fever, I understand what you are trying to say. Boredom is a form of therapy that helps me reflect on a lot of things, once in awhile I put down every gadget and make myself bored intentionally as it helps my brain and mind reset from stress, after spending hours on the forum reading and entertainment from social media, I make out time and give my brain, body and mind the chance to reflect, wander and recharge, we are in a generation were constant entertainment is just a click away so let's not be carried away to forget to take a break and get a nap to reboot. Not just for our bodies, minds and brain, our eyes also need a break from being on screen everyday.

Getting bored is not what most of us could like to have, because it makes one to remain idle doing nothing and at this stage, there's nothing coming to mind on a constructive manner than being depressed with thinking, which we also know not to be a good sign for our health, we may take some time to rest, to on holidays and have fun, all these are more better than having boredomness.

Absolutely, the calmness of the older generation comes from those spaces that aren’t filled up—like watching clouds, taking walks, or waiting for a kettle to boil. These "useless" moments build up life’s resilience. You should really try locking your phone in a drawer for a while, sitting by the window, and just watching the leaves sway for ten minutes. You'd be surprised by the unexpected benefits it brings.
I am now making a personal policy of not responding to AI garbage.

My own form of relaxation comes from playing soccer and doing some fitness routine which gets me really physical after which I take a serious nap.  It's been of great help to my health and though it's not a complete form of relaxation but it's the simplest way of getting out of my comfort zone and doing what really brings me calmness.

Don't get an Indian started on these generic spiritual terms. The problem is that these are so subjective, and everybody can use them as per their convenience. Very few actual practical use cases.

Boredom - is generally viewed as a negative emotion so I doubt that the OP has used
I am not talking about chronic boredom. There are broadly two types of people: firstly, those who crave constant dopamine spikes (every spike needs to be higher than the previous) and second, those who shut themselves completely off from the outside. It's the first type I was addressing, obviously. The second type will go into chronic boredom.

Sometimes we need to relax our brain and let our minds go away from all the things bothering us and just have a solemn moment all by our selves, it helps for the relaxation of our mind, body and soul. Thus, creating such boredom is a way of relaxation but we shouldn't create boredom for a long time because of health issues that might develop if you are keeping that much especially older people.

Want to experience the boredom, it's pretty simple.

Just delete all your social media or just logout of all the accounts and disable the notifications for such apps in all your devices and here you go, you will starts to get a feel like nothing is happening.

If you started to deal with after social media then it's time to cut down the streaming apps, Netflix, prime, YouTube, etc that leaves you pretty much stranded.

Good advice. I have tried this many times, and it is like a sour pill to swallow but good for your health. Although combining this strategy with hiking or trekking is another level.

I am also doing it, and it feels great afterward. Rest will also make your neural connections stronger, which will eventually make you good at things that matter.

Well, I am not saying that boredom will earn you money NO obviously you have to work for it. Have you ever tried meditation? In the initial stages, you have to be bored. Just observe the thoughts no matter what the nature of your thoughts is (this is common knowledge in meditation).

Boredom? I see that as a loneliness.

Most of the time people get bored because they doing something repetitively, but loneliness is when you're feel alone and you're not interested or not want to do anything.

Loneliness is very underrated, most people judge loneliness as mental health disease or lazy, but if people can use loneliness in right way, they can change big thing. If Einstein wasn't lonely, he might not discover theory of general relativity.

To beat this over as not to normalize it as an individual, we just have to be very intentional about having or creating time for such moment's when we practically just have to do nothing but relax and enjoy the  environment. He's right about the veterans why they're good at handling stress because they know how to deal with boredom. To be honest, I've figured it out that being alone sometimes is kind of boring but I find peace with that. When I have nothing to do and for others this seems boring and just staring at nowhere looks crazy. But you'll find your mind to be quite of slow with that moment and when you get older, you'll realize that these things are also enjoyable when we're getting older because we don't want to be too active at all and want away from the noise of the city and stress that we're dealing with.

I feel bored by so many stimulus on the internet sometimes. There is always something new on the news feed or on youtube. And most of that content is worthless. At some point I conclude it's a waste of time to access those apps so often.

At same time, what to do when there is nothing to do, then? We are getting more introspective and solitary each new day, so the only "friend" we have are the apps and their real time products.

It seems bad with them, but worse if it wasn't for them... The modern human being doesn't have much compatibility with each other. I remember when I was a child it was simpler. It was easier to make friends, because that compatibility among people was more frequent. There were more factors to unite than to divide us, while in the current world it's exactly the opposite. So, we have to stick to the artificial facilities provided by technology.
