Looking at this fake.. would it help if you took the picture with the shadow of the coin on the paper. Definitely harder to fake
It would be an added step, I can create and add shadows to images relatively easily. Although, a missing or odd shadow in an image would/should certainly raise suspicion if noticed. A 5 to 10-second video is much harder to fake. The longer the video, the harder I’d say it is to fake, (but not impossible) as it requires more work/skills. Additionally, there is usually a greater chance of a noticeable glitch or default in a faked video. As mentioned by other members throughout the post, escrow is a very strong deterrent against these type of scams (Likely the strongest). New members or members who are attempting to sell items which don't have an established trust rating should always be directed to escrow.
I appreciate the positive results received from the post. As well as the responses/suggestions from everyone here. I'm happy to bring some awareness upon the topic.
As I mentioned in the initial post, I've created these 'proof' pictures to sell thousands of dollars' worth of various items I've had, utilizing this technique. I've done it out of necessity more than anything, often forgetting the 'proof' photo and having to edit it in later. I'd say 99% of people overlook 'proof' photos. It takes me 60 seconds to create a fake, and it has never once failed me in pursuit of selling an item (maybe now it will).
