Both are not necessarily needed to even be under trading board because they are not solely about trading. Trading board is not yet necessary for this reason.

If we discuss much more about trading, we can consider to propose having a trading board.

As it stands now, we get three board wey be our main discussion board, politics and society and off topic board, honestly speaking na only the our main discussion board dy mostly active, most of the thread for politics & society and off topic na our moderator move them go there because na there him see them Dem fit to be, people no dy like post there because them dy mostly feel say merit source dy hardly check post their unlike the main board wey be the center of attention, so I believe say even though them create another board wey be trading discussion board, people go still carry trading post put for our main board because them want where the post go get more visibility.

So in my own opinion, make e remain as e be so.
Any crypto related discussion should be stationed at the main board, while the politics and society post, and off topic post should be stationed accordingly as e already dy.

If the posts are created on the main naija local board, it can easily moved to local trading discussion board. It can be done by correcting the OP and/or report the post to be moved. The later is the recommended.

The main issue is that we are not really discussing about trading. Not about merit or any other things.

As I read the topic title I first think say na about p2p trading, my mind don flash go Igebotz and Brainboss cos them been dey tidy the matter that year before them stop. But as I read the OP I come see say na another different level you dey yarn. This your suggestion nor bad at all, if we fit get one self moderated thread where traders go dey post their daily trades and signals e go really make sense.

I wanted to make this one self moderated but then I have to wait to see our local board members contributions and suggestions on this before I take the next step, I believe as we keep discussing we will definitely come up with a formula to follow in creating this trading discussion in this local board.

If you want to start a thread for trading discussions in the local board, i don't think there is a problem with that. Users in the local board can use the thread to discuss trading signals and strategies, technical and fundamental analysis and also the type of trading they do, either spot, futures, margin, etc, and their success rate. It has to be real discussions about trading and not just generic stuffs.

That said, if the thread is a success and turns out to be a megathread, then we fit come dey discuss on the possibility of a child board for it; that's my two cents.

I have read through from op com reach here. @ Op , I commend your idea for thinking towards this direction, oil dey your head.

However, as Coyster yawn, if to say you go start a single thread wey you go dey update base on the kind of trade wey you sabi do whether na futures, spot, arbitrage, deriv or even fx and you dey show workings wey the thing dey move wella, guys go dey wait for your update and visit that thread then with that more guys fit still feel say them get more skills on the kind of trade wey dem too fit do, na so the child board go start for trading because of the interest and activities.

We don't have the traffic to have another sub-board at least not yet and those few trading and altcoins topics can be accommodated on the main board. The three sub-boards is all we need for now..

There's a high market manipulation going on right now - trading is the last thing anyone with inexperienced should be taking about now or planning to venture into. You go bleed your body fo tell you. Enjoy the small thing and try to DCA some of the altcoins now and HODL, it's better than risking the small thing your account dey give you on trading..

There are some newbies who understand this our broken english very well to understand crypto discussion, which is the reason u seen many members has improve in other general discussion section. The way some will be bold to ask questions about crypto in this local board, it will be difficult for them to ask such question in other forum because it can make them not to be active again in the forum until he or she recover from the disgrace given to he or her.

Despite I learned trading from this forum, there are some discussion section u will enter to meet some good users that have excellent wisdom about trading and you will see the signs of trading expert from them.

I think the sub board matter no bad but one thing be say why will you go for certain sub board I will say it depends on the kind of topic we see, for now the main board is looking ok because of the few discussions of certain topics that may need a sub board, if you look at the main board even Altcoins discussion you are advocating for are actually few.

As for the suggestion of the OP I second with the reason that most of the topic I see on the general forum trading board are mostly from locals here so this might be the reason why OP think we should rather have one here so that the local newbies can get to learn easily. But irrespective of the lack of a sub board I think a thread by OP might do for now.

I already had this in mind and I wouldn't mind publishing my post at the Meta after organizing my post but then, what actually made me break down a bit was moderator we had and the merits source given. I think if anyone here make further moves that could be used to counter the application, and again was looking for a way to know how the merits aren't that circulating even as having two sources in the local. I did had in mind to submit my application but then theymos do take time to do his things I know no harm in trying as I have began to see the activities of the local board declining as many are going out to the English board to source merits on themselves.
