This is the official thread of the Scottish premier League, there are twelve teams in the Scottish League with Celtics and Rangers dominating the league. Even though the season has gone far as a football fan I thought it is wise to create this thread to discuss the league.

The league has just gotten to the most interesting stage and for sure we can point to the dominating team for this season just as you have said Rangers and Celtics are topping the table and for sure Rangers seem to have more chances of winning this season despite occupying the second position currently, the reason is that the last two games happen to be their worst games this season and the reason why there still at the second position and looking at Celtic few next matches you will notice that are up against clubs that can drop them from the top of the table if care is not taken.

With the standing on the table I can say that Celtic is likely going to win the Scottish premier League because the point gap is really huge except something miraculous happen that will see Celtic losing form or injuries to their major players, But Rangers too has been impressive this season so let's see how season will go the Scottish League is one interesting league when it comes to European football and nice seeing it in this forum this is a welcome development

I don't get the logic behind you rooting for Rangers to win the Scottish premiership this season even after being 16 points clear behind the league leaders Celtic who have put of their better performance gotten that far in the league with 29 matches already played and just 9 more to end the season.

If you assume Celtic might drop points then what makes you think Rangers wouldn't as well drop points against some of their opponents in the 9 games left to rap up the season. It's obvious Celtic has conquered this season and rangers should strive on maintaining their second position that  Hibernian or Aberdeen not dispose them before end of season.

This time I support you @Lida93. Logically it is impossible with only 9 remaining matches, Rangers have the hope to shift Celtic's position which has more points. Maybe there are still 27 points that can be fought over by both teams but for me, expecting Rangers to experience a 6x winning streak and Celtic's losing streak is very impossible.

Yeah, Celtic will have a good assume factor for the upcoming match bur Rangers is team with potential to throw a curve thus it will be interesting  to watch their play. Much will be depended not on the individual skill of the players but on tactics each teams team choose on March 15 though Maeda has  a chance to show his  mettle and not leave the field without a goal ^{hope for this}.

@len01 I do appreciate, and the points which you had put forward from your analysis is also quite interesting which I would want to buttress by saying though both teams may be said to be if almost equal strength in their league the present situation (the points gap) gives Celtic all the edge it could get to win the trophy this season.

And by overview, Celtic has managed to win almost all the matches they had played even while they were still doubling with the champions league games at dame time thye still could top the Scottish premiership table how much more now they have been eliminated and would now have to direct all energy in the domestic league. So it's obvious Rangers can't stop them now. Not this very season.

Celtic have already won the league base on the current standing so I will be weary of playing them because they may not play competitively unless maybe to preserve their outstanding records. Assuming it was at the peak of the competition when the gap between Celtic and Rangers is not as wild as it is now, then I would have been confident to stand them to humble Hibernian, who have not been too serious this season like they used to be other seasons. What I will consider in that match is both teams score because Hibernian can get a goal which Celtic will generously allow since, by assumption, they are not really putting their best form in the match.

You may have gotten my analysis wrong and assumed that I stated that Rangers are going to overturn the leading club Celtic, this is not the case in my statement and I am sure that it going to be almost impossible for Rangers to be able to accumulate such 16 point advantage on Celtics side and even the current performance of both clubs is not in equal basis, but still, at that we can't out write the possibility of having advantage from other clubs that are lower on the table and in the Turkish league that could help Rangers indirectly and helping to pull Celtics down in points and ultimately putting Rangers on advantage, that just speculation so I don't take it to means fact since only time can tell at the moment.

They are not comparable because the league is not that competitive. Also you can not compare both clubs because Celtic is 16 points ahead of Rangers. Only Celtics is dominating the league in my opinion.

They are not comparable because the league is not that competitive. Also you can not compare both clubs because Celtic is 16 points ahead of Rangers. Only Celtics is dominating the league in my opinion.

Turkish League is one of the leagues that have fewer fans and we can see the results of that on this thread, this thread is going on 4 days now and is still on the first page, the reason for no interest in the discussion from other posters is that Turkish league seems to be unpopular to many and with less interest from football lovers, so for sure it won't generate much discussion, Celtics happens to be the Star club in this league and going by the Large point gab between them and their closest rivals Rangers is obvious that several past season have been dominated by the same clubs and Celtics happens to be the defending and leading champion in this league.

Of the 4 matches, only the St. Johnstone - Aberdeen match is interesting for me, that's because both teams have a clear vision to win. On the Aberdeen side, if they manage to win the match, they have the potential to shift Hibernian's position from third place. Meanwhile for St. Johnstone, they're also chasing the position currently occupied by Dundee.

Although it looks interesting, I personally have no intention of betting on that match. It's better to wait for tomorrow, because tomorrow we have a big match, it's Celtic - Rangers match. Although Rangers don't have a big chance to become the league champion, at least they can maintain their pride if they win the upcoming match.

Although this is the 2024/2025 Scottish premier league thread I couldn't find a more befitting thread to post in concerning the Scottish premier league than this one.

What happened in the Scottish premier league is just like a move and I believe it has been an entertaining week especially for Celtic fans. The Scottish premier league went down to the wire, went down to the last game where the winner takes it all.

Celtics and Hearts were going head to head for the premier league made possible by Kelechi Iheanacho's late goal in Celtic last match, that created this epic showdown were Celtic came out top in today's match between Celtic and Hearts making them the champions of the league this season.
