It is better late than never. What sort of mentality is it in the first place that Ukraine would believe they can defeat Russia in the war? This is not just about them being a Nato member. If time is not taking the US government in form of the capital territory of this military alliance (Nato) is somewhere somehow politicizing the war and while providing Ukraine the war equipments, they are draining their resources even when noted the Ukraine can not win the war.
Zelensky has well taking good decision to make the peace. Sometimes ago last week, he has as well said even if it requires him to leave office, he will do it amicably just so his people can gain normalized peaceful freedom again.
After long time being deceived he has come to realize he was fighting ignorantly.

I thought that many were saying that if it were to be Trump in power, the Russian-Ukraine war wouldn't have escalated to this extent, now look at what is coming after it, if Zelenskyy already know the way out, then he should go for it so that the killings of innocent ones will end, it's high time they all embrace for peace and let bye-gone be bye-gone, we don't even know if US have been benefiting on this right from time, but am surprised this visit yielded to nothing.

That is the best thing Zelensky can do, compared to holding on and getting nothing. although it seems that Ukraine feels disadvantaged, but in war tactics, giving up does not mean losing, because a wise leader knows when to fight and when not to.

Ukraine can agree to the rare earth agreement, and then they will get protection from America. in the long term they can slowly learn how to process rare earths, and after the conditions are much better and stable, they can then renegotiate and then acquire most of the agreement.

All this was pretty much expected to happen, though. It was clear there were deep differences between the democrat party and the Republican party when it came to whether it was convenient to continue to support Ukraine against Russia, the democrat party viewed Putin as a dictator seeking to expand his influence in eastern Europe while Republicans tried to white wash all of it and call the support from the United States to be a waste of money, tax-payer money.
If I was Zelensky I would have not net with Trump at the White House, specially after all the stuff he has said about democrats support for Zelensky and his army, it was clear from the presidential campaign Trump is more on Putin side than he is on Zelensky.

As it stands for now Ukraine will have to count on Europe for it's defense and Europe will need to learn how to defendel themselves without the influence of the USA

Take enough time you say? Ukraine has only survived this far because of America support. So when the president of the country who has supported you this far asked to see you, and have a gentleman discussion with you, you don't delay or keep him waiting. The truth is this senseless war has to end and Zelensky and his people are tired of the war already. That's why he had to go for the meeting as soon as possible with hope that some tangible will come out from it. There are lots behind the prolongation of the Russia and Ukraine ongoing war, but at this that the US cannot be able to intervene due to the laid down conditions which Zelenskyy see as not an alternative, then there might be some secrets sponsors backing the continuation of this war till they see that everything summoned under their own interest, I knew it, that a lot is going underground with politics and the war between the two countries.

Maybe Trump and Vance expected to meet a weak president who would accept all their views and proposals. But the Ukrainian president showed so much courage and I was pleased he acted that way.

Will these US companies remain in Ukraine forever, or will they be present in all parts of Ukraine? All Zelensky needed was a security guarantee that would protect his country. The pausing of aid and support by the US had forced Ukraine to accept the exploitative option presented by Washington. Without US intelligence, Ukraine will suffer.

Either the find a way to sign a peace deal soon because of the current situation with Ukraine, or there could be also a other option with Europe serving as the main benefactor of Ukraine in the defensive effort to repel the Russian aggressor. The European Union by themselves could provide ammunition and military equipment which is needed by Ukraine, but they are very careful when comes to sending their own troops or allowing their citizens to engage in wars which do not involve their own country. That is specially true with Germany, which has forbidden people with a far right background to travel to Ukraine and fight for Zelensky.

Note that Russia has 10 to 100 times the natural resources that Ukraine has. Putin is crying for people to come and work her lands. But Western countries don't want to come, because they want to take Russia over completely. Putin will never allow that.

It was a regrettable meeting indeed, because after all Zelensky was lured into a trap to be publicly humilliated by the country which so far had been the most influent ally of Ukraine in the war.

Trump and his scum did that on purpose to sign sympathy to Putin. That was a clear message not only to Putin, but to Europe and the rest of the world as well. Trump is letting it very clear who he wants USA to be friends from now on.

In his view, Europe is weak and worthless, a burden for US to be carried. The times when USA was the protector of the weakest in the West is gone. Now USA wants to side with the bullies to abuse the weakest, which have been protected so far.

I risk saying it goes beyond financial interests. It's a matter of character as well, as Trump identifies himself with personalities such as of Putin and Kim Jong Un.

I'm sure USA will awake and get conscious at some point. Even Trump might become regretful as soon as things start going all the way down for him due to these new friendships. I just hope that once it happens, it's not going to be too late for the free world yet.

Yes there seems to have been a "storm in a teacup" about Zelenskyy's attire.
Everyone knows at this stage that he wears a military theme in solidarity with
his military, its not new. There were some media Vloggers present who really
kept on his case about what he was wearing, The whole meeting was just weird.
