Just as the topic says, there are times where we tend to make wrong judgment in gambling  based on the outcome of the game. Take for instance, if a gambler has the opportunity to cash out from his bet which is eventually higher than his staked amount and he refuses to cash out, if the game  end up in loss and he tells the story, its very easy to term him a greedy gambler. But if another gambler is presented with thesame opportunity and decides to hold on until the game end and he eventually wins the game, we tend to see such person as smart to not give up. Lol it funny how we make judgment. This is also how we think of addicted gambler who is lucky to win some huge amout as strategic gambler meanwhile another gambler who is not lucky enough to experience a good win we term them as addicted gamblers.

If you look at it from the same perspective, you might consider it a form of greed because if you see a profit that is more than the capital issued and does not withdraw it then think that he is on the right side and can get a much bigger win when getting the whole match, it is difficult to distinguish this perspective if only in one bet that is made, but if this happens repeatedly and still has a large profit orientation then it can be said that the person is in a greedy mood.

I clearly understand your point and at the same time you're right, I said this because you can't please anyone in life. Have you imagine doing the right thing and people complain about it? and at same time you've done the wrong and same was applicable because life is unpredictable, so this is how it is whatever choices you make in gambling it's either you're good or bad so you have to understand that because alot of people will always want to complain no matter what. But then in gambling the moves you take matters alot because winning and loosing are two different category.

It is pretty funny how your odds end up measuring you up in the eyes of others. No gambling is "smart" there is always a risk to lose everything. If anything gambling is a really dumb thing to do for the most part. People lose all their money, and they spend their whole paycheck to "get back in the game" and they lose that too. Sure, maybe they win from time to time but for the most part gambling is probably the worst past time & the most foolish way to spend one's money. Like I said in a previous thread, you're better off just investing that which you were to gamble in a shit coin, you might have better luck ahhahha

It's not about judging whether he is an addict or not, or if you interpret him as a greedy player, it's simply a matter of probabilities, that's where you have to look at it, I don't know where you're going with this poor post proposal in the simple concept of making a cash out, it's simple, you do it or you don't, rate it, why?

I clearly understand your point and at the same time you're right, I said this because you can't please anyone in life. I agree with you. You cannot please everyone no matter what you do good or bad people will always criticize your action, its a normal behavior in humanity. How this is mostly common on casino house games where other gamblers also see your  bet slip or ticket or those you told about the bet ticket.  You can imagine if you stay anonymous with your information. Sometimes we share because we think everyone is our friend until we hear them say terrible things about us. It depends the kind of person the gambler is because I know that some people have the vision of believing that there are going to win gambling their spot that they have been given the option of cash out but then believe that There will win and they will cash out in full, but sometimes it does not happen such way but I believe gambling is all about something that is supposed to know and you supposed to understand, Someone who fell to cash out when they give him or her option of cashing out and the cash out is above lots of the person use to bet I think from my own side I may say that the person have a decision and the way look it at all that way around it, So for me I may say that the person is greedy because he's out of goodness that makes some people to think that they are going to win in the gambling why they will not win

This is mainly why the house usually has the ultimate advantage.  Takes the emotion of winning and losing (on top of the odds).  Some people temd to chase losses based on pure emotion.  Thats why i gamble for entertainment value.  I dont expect to win but its nice when i do.  Takes the emotion and greed out of the decision making.

It seems like to take emotions and greed out of the script of a gambler needs another episode, as it appears nearly impossible for some gamblers to do that. Gambling is a disease and an addiction. Yes, there are people who enjoy the tension and anticipation and are happy that their bodies are pumping with adrenaline and they feel special.

All of them are addicted gamblers but sometimes we just differentiate the winners and the losers. So, this is a norm in the society that if someone is a huge winner, we praise them and have some positive feedback to them. Being greedy is the reality of gambling. We risk money for a better outcome which isn't known. We'll know the result only after sometime, and the outcome can be a win or else it'll be a loss. No one bet with the mind to loss, which means everyone is greedy as said by the above member. The difference is how much they expect out of a bet shows the level of greediness. In my view placing a $100 bet and expecting $20 is fair, but $100 and expecting $1000 is greed. It is possible, but the risk is really bigger than what we experience with the $100 bet for $20 win.

I've seen gamblers who have made up their minds not to cashout even if the cashout reward is 5x+ bigger than their staked amount.  One do the reason gamblers refuse to cash is based on their previous experience.  There is this gambler i came across with and he also had this mindset of not cashing out until the last game has ended. And his opinion was, he has lost several opportunities to have made huge wins but because of fear of losing everything he cashed out but at the end the ticket was read as win but since he cashed out early he was not eligible for the full amout. So since then he has made up his mind to not cash out. But the only problem is sometime you lose everything or win everything it's as simple as that, but from my perspective since I don't see gamble as a get rich quick scheme I'll accept whatever cashout is presented provided its highe than my stake... after cashing out I'll use some of the money to restake the remaining games.

You are right, I am just one of the few humble gamblers who don't want something big from gambling, the truth is this game is too risky, and I am not ready to lose my head because of gambling, so I never use more than I can afford to risk, instead of risking too much money I prefer risking few dollars and if my wins isn't that great either I will still be happy about it.

People call me names for risking very small money all the time, one said this is why I haven't make any life changing money from gambling but I don't care, the goal was never to make any life-changing money but to be responsible about gambling.

I agree with that. But there are other ways that we could use gambling for good. Sports for example. When you have been following a sport since you were a kid, there will be a time that you will get bored with it. I did. But after I bumped into sports betting, everything was spiced up again. I get to check the rosters, updates, and injuries, and watch the game more because my money is also at risk while watching the game. Then, I get to cheer better for my favorite team because my money is also on the line. There were times before when I watched a whole game without any emotion anymore but thanks to sports betting it became lively again.

I do agree that it is a bad way to spend money but if it could fill the joy that you want for the weekend, it might help.

Man, there are all kinds of times in gambling... I don't know how else to say it. To say that we sometimes make the wrong decisions is an understatement, there have been moments where the decisions were more than disastrous. But it's not all black, there were good & great times as well. So we can make only one conclusion, many people have written the same lines so many times: "Gambling life is full of ups & downs".

As for the second part: "After the battle, everyone is a general!" When things happen, it's easy to act smart and talk about what could have been done better/differently... Ignore what most people say, do things the way you think & feel it's best.

We all can't want the same thing and I have seen too many people losing everything they have to gambling, I don't want to find myself in that same situation.

We don't want to see ourselves on that tough situation. Having this realization is a good thing as a gambler because we know that we have limitation. And we're trying to avoid somethings that we don't us to be in, and that's why.

Those that are lucky can take risk for as long as they can and as long as their pockets can take it.

I agree that greed is at work in almost everyone when it comes to gambling and once they win they bet and risk more to get a little more. When a gambler loses they try to gamble more to get back the money they lost. Greedy gamblers are not aware of their financial limits. They gamble with money that they should be using for other essential purposes.
