Is It Possible for DeFi and Traditional Finance to Coexist?

DeFi's current situation and its connection to traditional banking have been on my mind a lot lately.  With some initiatives attempting to combine DeFi with conventional financing and others adopting a more decentralised strategy, it appears that we are at a turning point.  How do you feel about this?  Do you think DeFi and traditional finance can coexist, or will one eventually become more important than the other?  I'd love to hear your opinions and have a longer conversation.

Defi and tradfi already coexist, if you see most of the project, especially stablecoin, most of them trying to reserve tradfi assets to back up their stablecoin so it can retain 1:1 peg.
same thing happened with other, if any, defi comes in to fill in the hole that's left void by traditional finance.
in the future you'd see more and more integration of defi with most of tradfi, as I've seen from many projects nowadays, they always try to bring people to switch from tradfi to defi, and how to do that? by giving seamless integration so that they can switch easily.

I've been thinking about how DeFi and old school finance could actually work together instead of just butting heads. I've noticed some big players starting to dip their toes into DeFi ideas while others are digging in their heels. I figure stuff like rules and security swill really decide how they mix and honestly I can see them blending into something cool that pulls the best from both worlds.
