If given an opportunity to be an entrepreneur between two options of which is to build a business brand from scratch just to sell it to bigger pocket buyers later or keep growing the business until it gets so big and expands into branches/divisions until retirement. That is, once the start up business has shown remarkable growth, one prefers to sell it and start up another one or stick to the growing business until the very end, probably opening up branches and keeping at it until one does retire and pass it on to your children?

If there's no context I don't think choosing one over the other matters that much if it means I will make profits anyway. That being said, if I have a successful business that can grow easily, maybe I'll focus on that because it will be easier to do marketing compared to starting from scratch. I know a lot of rich families do this in different countries. Unless I can see the future that anything I touch can be sold, that sounds like a solid plan to execute.

Living a peaceful life is our goal! Some of us wants to live in the mountains and some of us wants to live near pristine beaches. The goal is to live life to the fullest without worrying about financials. Money is just a tool. So if I am able to build a business which I can sell to a bigger company at a cost that takes care of my lifestyle for the rest of my life, I would choose that. Because running a business won't give me retirement from daily hassles.

I prefer a true entrepreneur. Because it will have a beautiful story about extraordinary efforts and hard work, have a clear beginning, middle, and end with various interesting experiences and stories, which reflect important events or phases in the business experienced until it reaches success and have many branches that I will run until retirement and bequeathed to the generation of my children who I educate before I retire and remain under my supervision.
And it is very unfortunate if there are entrepreneurs who sell their businesses that have progressed because the money obtained slowly will run out quickly and other reasons if starting with a new business, will the business be successful from the business that has been run from the beginning until it finally succeeds and it is not as easy as imagined. Because being a true entrepreneur will never end and will continue from generation to generation so that they feel its success.

It depends on your passion for a particular business and how much an individual or a company is offering you to sell your business. If i start a business that i have always had a passion for, something i wake up in the morning for, it would be difficult to sell it, but then again, it depends on how much is on offer, if a powerhouse is offering a crazy amount for it and i know they have more resources than i do to take that business to the very top, i would prolly sell it and pick up with another investment.

An entreprenaur is someone that does not stand still and is constantly evolving. You'll find that most will have gone through many different ideas and attempts before finally landing on a business that makes financial sense, all you're talking about is the final outcome while missing the bigger picture. If you are an entrepreneur you are constantly testing new things, if you decide to settle with a solid business that you have grown, then you might have made enough profit to stop reaching for new ideas. Indeed we need people that stick with businesses long term, because they can often stumble when a highly knowledgeable owner steps away without the proper support system in place. I'm not sure there is a clear cut answer to the question you have posed because it comes down to individual circumstances.

There are many entrepreneur that has started a business, resisted selling it only for it to fail in the end, I can say for a certain that majority of people like that would have regretted their actions. I will not say I have a preference yet because I believe it can be subjective. If I have a business and I see lots of potentials in at but I have done my calculations and discovered it will require a huge deal to grow, I believe i may sell it out for a very good Price but it still depends on how what the situation is like.

why wouldn’t anyone want the latter option? if you sell the business you started and worked so hard on, that’s over all your efforts will be someone else’s now and they are the ones to reap the rewards but if you keep continuing your business and eventually build an empire the people who will benefit from your business is yourself and your family and your future kids and grandkids and their future kids and grandkids as well yes the good are all yours but also the bad but i would still choose the 2nd option anyway

I remember a few years ago when cryptocurrency was not as popular as this, there was a game platform with dogecoin as a payment that was developed for the community and when the developer had difficulty surviving because of difficulties he preferred to close it even though there were investors who were ready to buy, the reason was only one because the goal was definitely different and he didn't want the game platform to end up being a scam and harming many people because the investor could have a goal like that.

I imagine a corporate entrepreneur has a far more limited autonomy than a serial entrepreneur but probably makes more money due to the more controlled and structured environment. But a very talented serial entrepreneur could make a lot of money as well... I would go with corporate.

Same here. It sounds like you are thinking about building something that lasts, something that can help your family for a long, long time. Thats a really nice goal! running your own business has its highs and lows, but the rewards make it worthwhile. When I think back over my journey so far, there have definitely been times when it seemed like giving up would be easier. But whenever we power through and overcome those obstacles, its incredibly satisfying. Thats why I would also choose the second option and build my business to the maximum.

I prefer to be a corporate entrepreneur because it is difficult to let go of a business that has been pioneered from the beginning and when it has grown it is sold to another party because the developer will definitely be different so that it is no longer the same as the initial purpose of creating the business, unless there are other factors that make me have to sell it, for example, difficulty in getting more funds to be able to develop it further.
The difficulty to actually allow a business to grow bigger on its own due to financial constraints is the major reason why we have serial entrepreneurs. Personally I think no serial entrepreneur will want ti continue as such because serial entrepreneurs are usually the ones who on upto the biggest tasks in the business and mostly are the major risk takers in the business, starting a business from scratch is usually the major breakthrough point in the business and as such more risky and time consuming. So for me I don’t think most people will actually choose the serial entrepreneur over the cooperate entrepreneur if they definitely have the choice to choose between the two, most of the times they are not opportune to actually choose between the two because of lack funds and in other not to lose everything they end up been a serial entrepreneur until they can afford to grow their own business to any length. So to even choose between the two I think Cooperate entrepreneur is definitely the better choice

As much as it is exciting to think that your business may actually be able to stand the test of time, it may actually not be able to do so and this can be because of unforseen difficulties and challenges that you could face later on as an entrepreneur. I noticed that I am an idea guy. I love doing the basics and setting up the foundation, of which I am also interested in selling the idea to potential investors or stakeholders. The reason why I do things this way is because some businesses require finance to grow; if you want to struggle with the business, it may not work out well in the end. If we dont have the finance to push the business to the level of competing with other industry competitors, there is no need to struggle, just look for people to invest in it and have small equity.

the 2nd choice is actually really hard to do, you'd face so many things on the way growing the business and will probably become middle sized business at your age of retirement, truth to be told most of large corporation that exists right now needs 2-3 generation before becoming that big and even that requires immense luck to begin with.
I see the first choice as more realistic choice for people who just starting out and focus building their foundation instead, after all if you can successfully sold your business to bigger company you can always start another one and maybe since your financial is already getting better you can focus on cultivating your business on a path of corporation.

I choose the second option. I will keep growing the business until it gets so big and expands into branches/divisions and pension if my children can continue my works. I will prepare my children to lead my business so they know that having a business is not easy and it need passion and work hard and smart. I will teach them how to build other businesses if one business can run properly so they can expand the business to the other fields.
That will give me and my children to have so many businesses for our family. Having so many business will create a passive income for me and my family while I also teach to my children that when their business can run properly, they can pass it on to their children so they can retire before they are getting too old.

serial entrepreneur is the idea kind of thing for me since they can do the work of both parties, and also considering how people are making a lot of money from the business brand they bought I will definitely want to sticked with my brand, though it will not be easy but with consistency they will become the best, though if someone has more one business brand they can sell some if they want because you cannot build all at the time, you will have to focus only one to make it successful and instead of another brand again is better expending from the current brand. However those who sell there business when it has become successful is actually losing because they may not even compete on what the buyer will make from the business, so if someone is to sell is better selling on scratch than when the business has started paying off.

there are levels your business will get to that you don't necessarily have to be directly involve in its operation. you just assign some competent persons that are able to take care of the business which will relieves you of whatever pressure that might be associated with being an active person in the business. if i am to choose between building a business to a certain level and either sell it out or continue growing it to retirement, i will say that it depends on what i speculate the future of the business to look like. if from my analysis i see that the business might not do too well in years to come or that the industry looks like what might go obsolete with time, then i will certainly opt for selling it when i have built it to a certain extent. if the future of the business looks promising, why will i ever consider selling?
retiring early is a good thing but having a business to my name even after retirement is part of the plan and even if i might not want to be too involved in the business, i would not subscribe to selling a business idea i have built out of my sweat and rigorous effort.

If given an opportunity to be an entrepreneur between two options of which is to build a business brand from scratch just to sell it to bigger pocket buyers later or keep growing the business until it gets so big and expands into branches/divisions until retirement. That is, once the start up business has shown remarkable growth, one prefers to sell it and start up another one or stick to the growing business until the very end, probably opening up branches and keeping at it until one does retire and pass it on to your children?
* Would you prefer to be a serial entrepreneur than to be a corporate entrepreneur (intrapreneur)?
The question is how long do you intend to start a business and then end up in selling it to another person, in just one life time, that kind of business is not sustainable, because do you know how long it takes for you to start a business that will be recognize for somebody else to come and buy it from your hand outrightly, then multiply it with the number of times you feel you can do it, for me is practically impossible, except you guys are a co-operative that has a blue print on how you can strategize an outcome. So because an entrepreneur and growing my own business and not selling it out to anybody is the goal for me, because on the long run, I will still pass it over the next generation and it will remain a household legacy.

I will prefer serial entrepreneur. We live in a world where things are changing globally daily, and it will help business men and women using this serial entrepreneur to bring in new products from local market or foreign markets that will attract customers to increase the number of products they are buying. There are some people that are tired of old products in the market, and whenever they see new products in the market, it will make them to go after the new products to be the first person or group of people that use the products in the society.
Not that corporate entrepreneur is not good, but it will not be profitable more than serial entrepreneur because the time you will be using to develop new products for the company, it may not be the desire of the customer or the companies.
