I was thinking about this, I did not know where to put it out, so I am bringing it here. The trending leagues in football are the English Premier League, the Spanish League, the Italian League, the German league that has mostly attracted gamblers. Now looking to the future, do you think there is any possibility of another football league taking over in popularity anytime soon, and what do you think needs to be done to fast track the process. The Saudi Professional League already tried, can we say that they have failed?
I wouldn't say yes exactly to taking over but i know that other leagues can actually come up to level up and gain as much popularity as these ones which you have mentioned and that is because they have build a standard that people cannot just let go of just immediately because of the emergence of a new league, a typical example can be seen with the Saudi league recently that we see, this league has actually gradually beginning to mop some good level of support and recognition for itself and now its gradually becoming a very notable league that people now discuss all over the world. The introduction of some of the European star players into their league ahs also gotten them to be bale to pull this through to as well so they are gradually becoming of equal ranking as these famous leagues but are not taking the place of them in any way and not any soon either.

When it comes to gambling I would say most gamblers, especially those that have been in gambling for years prefer not to gamble in the Europe top 5 league, the reason is because they are very unpredictable, a team struggling to avoid relegation could beat a team challenging for the title, we have seen this scenario every season. So most gambling expert prefer to go to those lower leagues where the big teams have much guarantee of beating the lower teams.
Me for instance rarely involve matches from Europe top 5 league in my booklet, especially my main booklet, the premier league, Laliga and even the Italian always produce an upset every week and it could be the game you have included in your booklet already.
Nobody knows the future, but over 100% of gamblers today more than 90% always include the Europe top 5 teams in their booklet. They are the must watch league in the world so that one big reason why most people prefer to gamble on them.

Anything is possible. Football leagues of these four countries are very popular because of the culture and how long they've been dominating this sport. Football is part of our culture, in these countries, we play football since our childhood and admire football athletes, so every kid wants to become amazing footballer like Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. What helps us also is that we are rich countries and have access to good work-life balance, good healthcare and since football has always been developed here, we are top in it. Other countries can try and take it from us but I highly doubt they'll succeed. Money is not everything, it's a dream for many people to play in Barcelona only because Messi was playing there. No one can take away that from us. Other countries have to love football as much as we do in order to take it away from us. Do they can? Yes, but I'm sure that chances are slim to none.

For the fact we can't expect any new leagues to come to take over from the already popular and existing leagues championship of the world's most popular international leagues just as we have FIFA and the Europa Leagues and other national and international leagues, all these can not be overtaken just with a new idea. Although we can have some new developments that can make football competition more fun and competitive, it will not be up to a rewrite of the old formula.

IMO the world is so connected now that the rise in popularity of new professional leagues worldwide is more possible than ever. I also think that football has reached another audience over the past years. I mean there were already female fans in the sport back then but usually influenced by their husbands but now I noticed even young girls are getting into the sport so I think it is definitely gaining much more popularity. Classic leagues got their popularity over the years and even generations (fathers who passed their love for a certain team to their sons), but nowadays, with the proper links and capital, I think that it wouldn't be very difficult to position a new league among the top. China is getting it with cars in the automotive industry, even in Europe, which seemed impossible in other times, and although their league and also Saudi professional League are not so popular yet, if they really want to and they position them well, I think that they will finally make it.
It is not just about money. They should know where to direct this money so it doesn't get wasted. Reaching the right audience and getting people's attention can be done even without maximum amount of money if they are efficient enough.

It is possible that another league could over take, especially if you look at how MLS is doing in America. They have been able to create some huge leagues in other sports like NBA, MLB and the NFL - given enough time it could surpass some European leagues at least in money floating around it. The MLS is potentially a more accessible sport than basketball and American football. However it will need to gain in general popularity before this happens. I wouldn't be worried about Saudi Arabia growing much, it's like a sandcastle on a beach that will wash away when they stop throwing silly money at players, it is simply not sustainable long term and not even a hospitable climate to maintain it.

Of course they can as long as they have a lot of money and maybe Saudi Arabia did that by bringing in some of the top players in the world. The popularity of the Saudi Arabian League increased after they made a breakthrough by bringing in top European players and if it is said whether other leagues can do it then of course money is quite influential. In modern football money plays a quite important role because popularity can be achieved if top European players are in the league and added to the role of the media which tries to influence the public about how interesting the league is.

Before now we didn't have what we call pro leagues, and Saudi Arabian club side leagues weren't in existence, but now we have them and are very popular day we have star players moving from European club sides to Saudi Arabian pro league clubs, such as Christiana Ronaldo who formally played for Europe clubs Manchester United and na at Al Nasrr so this shows that we are beginning to recognize their presence.

English Premier League - La Liga - Serie A - Bundesliga is not formed in 1 year or 10 years, and the big names that dominate football have appeared on the site since long ago, that means popularity will not be built perfectly in a short time, it takes decades. discussing whether the Saudi league failed to gain popularity! I don't think so, because they have only received great attention from the public since Cristiano Ronaldo and other big names were there, so it will take decades for the Saudi Arabian league to become popular.

The fact that football is considered the sport of choice for most people allows other leagues to rise. It is only a matter of time before this happens, and it also needs more adoption from fans, as the market is vast.
The Saudi league may need a new approach to succeed…

Popularity is cultural, legacy, emotional rather than only money and celebrity endorsements. The Premier League is tribalism, communities, deep history that hooks followers for generations. Thus, might another league perhaps knock it down? probably. Is it easy? Absolutely not. The Saudi League is an Interesting case study but still early to label as failing. They have the money, but money by itself is not magic. Remember Tevez? The Chinese Super League tossed bags of money at well-known names. Remember Oscar, too?
Real transformation goes back decades, authentic narratives, grassroots passion. You need rivalries felt viscerally rather than hyped. Saudi's league right now seems like a star-studded exhibition game - interesting but lacking something more, a type of authenticity that die-hard fans yearn for. You sign a Ronaldo or Neymar, but you can't replace Manchester against Liverpool or Barca against Madrid overnight. Infrastructure matters. Youth systems matter. Coaching philosophy matters. Above all, your fast track is creating something followers emotionally connect with, and that transcends money or marketing tricks. Indeed, another league can grow; but, unless they are ready to invest in their own culture and heritage rather than pursue instantaneous worldwide admiration, you should not hold your breath

The Saudi Professional League already tried, can we say that they have failed?
The intention of the Saudi league was not to take over who is the top on all leagues. What they did was to make their league well known and so that people should start watching their favorite players in their league. That is why they go for players who has made name for themselves in other top leagues so they can retire after having a playing time in the Saudi League. Honestly i dont see any league that will top the well known league we already know. Up till now the English Premiere League is still the most valued.

With some human rights abuse allegations against Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom is seeking diverse means to give the country a good name. Some of the strategies they adopted are making the football league attractive to top players and winning World Cup hosting rights. Money alone cannot make the SPL world-class because leagues take more than that to improve. The League would have to grow players, attract investors and export players to other leagues. The quality of their games also needs to improve.

They tried and still trying, I won’t say they have failed in it or won’t continue to try to make their league as relevant as those in the European countries. First of all, they should know that what was built for more than a century to become what it is today cannot just be overthrow and replaced by another. The European football was able to conquer about five leagues from five different nations to be what it is today. The Saudi professional league is just one faction of the Asian league and if they really want to achieve as big as the European football has done, they need to carry other top leagues in Asian along to get close to achieving that. The Saudi Professional League itself hasn’t achieved that yet, not an easy one but let’s see how far they can come in some few years from now.

The market is vast and the is always new money flowing into the market, that is true, but this is not a discussion on whether the market has place to occupy new leagues or not, it is rather a discussion on if there is some way to break the dominance those European leagues have over the world of football and there would be new generations of leagues to come for them to take their place, perhaps some football leagues from South America, or Asia. In my opinion, it would be possible for such thing to happen, sure, but it would require an immense amount of investment for those leagues to have any chance to catch a fraction of the attention those European leagues have from the public who likes to consume football in a regular basis. We are talking as much money that some state intervention would be needed in order for those leagues to progress and face the European ones, I won't expect to see such a big change in my lifetime.I have already grown accustomed to follow the same leagues and give my attention to them since I started to follow the biggest events on football.

You did not mention Ligue 1 in France but I think it is among them.
I agree with you, I think the french Ligue 1 is among the prestigious leagues in Europe able to take over in popularity in the coming years IMO. Because several Ligue 1 french teams are playing in the european championships and they are doing pretty good things overall. In addition national french team has very good results since several years. And many people know the country because they came there to do some sightseeing. The league needs some bigger international players and better teams though but it can happen in the coming years.

Earlier La Liga was one of the most popular leagues, but with the change of time, La Liga has lost its popularity, now the English Premier League is the most popular league and we see the most excitement in this league. As you said, English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga are the most popular leagues now. Now the question is whether the Saudi League can include its name in the list of these leagues. If it is said that the Saudi League is trying then I would say they are trying 100% and investing a lot of money behind this football but the problem is that the young talented players are not really willing to go to the Saudi League. Young talented players always dream of playing for one of the best clubs in Europe. From the day young and talented and world class stars play in the Saudi League, you will see the Saudi League become one of the most popular clubs in the world.
I really struggle to even image something like this happening. The dream of the majority of football players is playing the Champions League because you go against the best teams in the world. Saudi Arabia is in Asia, they will only face other Asian teams, best case scenario you play against some Japanese or Korean team, that's it. If you want to make a lot of money that's the quickest way, if you want to become a football legend than you need to play in Europe. It's the same with basketball, if you're a European player your aspiration should be playing in the NBA, they have the best teams and the best league.

Football is a combination of economics and sports culture. Of course, the Turkish, Belgian and Dutch leagues will be able to lead in the future. Saudi Arabia and China also have a chance. However, this should be a general and simultaneous rise in the level of organization of the game and investments. Otherwise, if these are individual players and individual clubs, then talented players will be bought by leagues of other countries. Unfortunately, these countries exploit their historical advantage in development. But we see a rise in interest in football all over the world. So in any case, interesting changes and intrigues await us.

Yes, there is the possibility of another football league taking over in popularity. We already see that in sports including football where one team can be more popular than others and make the league popular also. The Saudi Professional League has not yet failed and if they want to keep trying, they have that chance but need to use different approaches to gain popularity. We may see something happen in the football but we need to wait for more.

They failed because they can't expect to be done all from the players they bring in from outside the kingdom there, in the major leagues you are listing here they have an academy of football since kids are 5-6 years old and they keep investing in local talents heavily and this is the main difference why Saudi has failed in this thing. In order for them to try and gain popularity or even take over they need to start building academies of football since early age of their kids and invest heavily in there, for sure they are the only country in the world who have unlimited resources of money as long as they are the country richest in oil and they should do it soon because electric cars will make them lose a good chunk of their revenues.
