Guys you see the reason why i say this our so called country is a big scam based on some research i made this action has cost so many civic servants dissatisfaction, most of them didn't even no that the addition of salary that was paid to them in December 2024 time were erroneous, now the unexpected deduction has cost alot of thing to so many FG workers we can just imagine a local Government primary school teacher who earned not less than 60k in a month with families and many other to feed how would it sound to he or her with the bad cost of things in the economic this is really been unfair to the worker, this deduction that was made has an emerged loans to most people who are dependent on the salaries, and also the government have said the salaries deduction will stay a little bit until all the overpaid sum are been recovered by the FG, unless a new salary structure is been bought out which the amounts that was been pay in the month of January and February are expected to remain unchanged.
This is one of the reasons why i choose not to be unemployed by the so called FG because there is no amount that can buy my time by them

no de yarn anyhow bros. imagine say you de work for a private sector when de pay you $80 at the end of every month, and then e come pay you $160 because of system error and decide say him go deduct am from the next month salary, you go argue with your boss when you know say normally them de get budget when de allocated for the payment of your salary?

I understand the point you are trying to say here, but if you look at the op post again, you will see where he said that these civil servants initially thought that it was an exmas bonus that was added to their take home salary, which I believe that you and I will be thinking the same if we were in their shoes, but honestly it would really be a bitter pills for the civil servants to swallow considering how costly the price of things are in our society today.
In my sincere opinion this wouldn't have been a big deal if they hard created awareness about this earlier like in that festive season when the money was paid, so that people would have prepared their mind that the money will be recovered back, and they would have spend more wisely, but they stay mute till now that they have all moved on from it, this particular act will really be a bitter one for our civil servants workers honestly if this piece of news is actually true.

to me haven't gone through the story line to know how much that was actually over paid to teachers that has lead to deduction of salary among federal  workers, but to no avail no amount was mention there, however considering the way politicians are toiling away and mismanaging our public fund including the presidency is too bad, haven't said this, it is said what is good for the goos should be good to the gands, he who comes for equity should come with a clean hand, summarily the oder he gave to federal civil servants, should also be given to other federal parastata where where ghost name of workers and other anomalies are on going

The mistake was discovered in December and according to them, they will continue deducting even after this month. With the cost of living in the country, its simply not fair to do that  to people. You're right this move is causing problems because when the money was paid in December the government didn't say anything concerning it to address the situation in a bid to correct the impression that it was not a bonus or Aries as was is the case in others years and allowed people to spend the money and after two months that is when they are coming to deduct monies from the salaries of workers using the excuse of over payment, this is not a sincere government that has the people in mind

My husband is a civil servant, am not sure of this information, and to the best of my knowledge some federal agencies that i know received their December salaries after Christmas and it's just for one month, while the federal institutions were not paid December salaries until January 2025 because they are no longer with the integrated payroll payment information system (IPPIS), and as for Christmas bonus,I don't know when last Federal civil servants received Christmas bonus, most time their December salaries comes after Christmas celebration before January , if the information OP brought says the government paid Christmas bonus,the accountant general and his cabinet knows where the money is and should be brought out, except the double salaries were paid to the director which they have embezzled, and so they should be held responsible for the returns not the individuals, as i speak to you the since January  the institutions have not been paid their full salary, that the federal government has short fall until the budget is being implemented this March that is when they will have their full salaries imagine that, the money should be fished out among them.

if it's correct that it was a mistake then the staff has to return to the government, there is no big deal here and no one should speak evil against the government.  Because you don't know it will affect the government fiscal budget for the year. So if they have resolved to use deduction policy on the staffs that's even fair enough for them than to collect a whole month salary. Like play like play this country is getting bad every day oh. Because if really this was an excess payment that the government is reducing to cover up cost, then no wahala. But if it was money that was thought to have been Christmas bonus that the federal government is now calling excess payment and wants to deduct from their salaries, then it's really a sad news to go by. Because considering the amount of hardship that is currently affecting lives, how much is even this amount that they want to deduct from civil servants salary? Is it even up to the amount they use in buying bullet proof cars? Or neither up to the amount senators and house of rep members share every week as sitting allowances?.
