Very Good question you have asked, I have thought about this and also have discussed it sometimes ago in this forum but couldn't find the exact thread but in my own point of view, the Best way to let your loved ones or heirs know about your assets or the seed to you asset while you are still alive, is to separate your asset. What I mean is that if you have an asset worth $100m you may send $1m to wallet 1 and reveal to them the seed phrase then keep the remaining $99m in another wallet with a seed phrase wrapped and keep safe in the bank sothat if a sudden incident happened or if you are no more it may be part of your will and bank manager will give them the document to which the seed phrase is.

I have always been on the side of telling a family member about my seeds but I never really thought about "betrayal and divorce" because humans are bound to betray each other and divorce happens. It is advisable to keep our seeds private for security purposes And I don't prefer keeping it a secret from everyone because what if something bad happens to me in future, my assets will be gone and my family will be left with nothing, and all the privacy, secrets and security will be for nothing too. The only way out to at least give them a (clue), money is the root of all evil so I would tell them about the money involved, I will just give them a clue so they would know that I have something somewhere, I would probably lie to them that it's not of any great value.

It is not a good idea to give your wallet's Phases to someone who can cheat you at any time. No matter how close your friends are, you should not share these things with them. You should not share it with your girlfriend or wife because your girlfriend or partner can divorce or end the relationship at any time. I wouldn't trust bank safe deposits to keep my seeds. I'd want my family & friends to enjoy any thing I'm leaving for them but I can't trust ppl to deliver my seeds to important ppl in my life. I'm trying to stack sats for a better life so I'll have to find a solution but there isn't any thing simple.

There is definitely risks but the thing is risks can be minimized and avoided and that is what you should do if you want to pass on your seeds to your family.

You have to know whom you trust and have your reasons for that, it you can't get anyone anyone you trusted on this regard, then hold your bitcoin to yourself and inherit it to your children as they are growing and shows interest on bitcoin, because I've seen some people that can't trust any of their family members, not even wife, same applies to those having friends, they can't be trusted and at the same time you may find out that some people are trusting their friends than their family members, if you couldn't find trust in your wife then result to children and that's all, because this life can be surprising atimes, those you trusted can fail you in some situations.

Every method has risks, no method is absolutely perfect, the only difference when making a choice is what kind of risks we accept and trade off. Like you, I don't deny that revealing the seed phrase to your wife/relatives is risky but it's worth the trade-off. Because I don't want my life's work and effort to go down the drain if something unexpected happens to me and my children don't inherit anything. I don't want my children to live in poverty just because of my selfishness in not trusting anyone, not even their mother, who would take care of them if I died.

Truth be told, you can't really trust anyone at all, even if they are your family or your closest friend, you can never really know what goes inside their minds, probably that's the only time that you can trust someone, is if you can read their minds but trust is a big deal but in my opinion, if you absolutely need to give it to someone in case something happens to you and you don't really want your savings of bitcoin go to waste, always stick with family, you can't really leave behind your legacy with your friend no matter how close you are to them, probably the only time that the latter would matter is if you've got a toxic and vile family relations that has gave you nothing but trauma, that's the only time that I think closest friends would matter when leaving something valuable is being talked about.

If you are still undecided, probably for the best if you go with a lawyer and have them keep your seed phrase and write it in your will whomever will receive them, you can always rewrite it if you feel like the current heirs would be unworthy. And on that note, also worth noting that out of all the options, lawyers are probably the one person that can trust when it comes to your seed phrase as they're binded by client confidentiality and I don't think any self-respecting lawyer will jeopardize their career that they've created for themselves from scratch just to steal your seed phrase for themselves.

if you cant give your friend the password of your bank that contains a huge amount of money that is so valuable to you , then need to give your seedphrase to other people. the reason while some other person dont need to have access to your seedphrase is for security purpose. your seedphrase is your personal property which you dont need to expose to others, even if you have someone that you can trust so much, the question you need to ask yourself is if the person that you trust so much, if your seedphrase is being revealed the person they can be able to protect it and make it safe but it will difficult and risky to think your seedphrase will be safe in someones hand.
