We can learn from anyone who fails or succeeds and learning is not the same as copying what they do but paying attention to the causes of their failure and not repeat their mistakes also their success and doing what we have learned in our own way.

Yeah, people need to understand that from what others have experienced, you can only learn about the route, but you will still have to travel yourself, and it's you who should decide what can be good or bad for you on your way towards your destination. What others did can serve as lessons, but we should also remember that the same things don't happen to everyone; what might have happened to someone else might not happen to you, and what might not happen to someone else might happen to you.

That's why it's important for us to be mentally and physically ready for any kind of challenges when we decide to go a specific path that we've chosen after enough thinking and evaluating all the possible consequences, both positive and negative. Life is not and cannot be the same for everyone, and everyone will have different experiences while doing the same thing.

Others don't learn from their mistakes and even though they receive advice from those who have been successful before but due to mismanagement or unforseen circumstances they lose their wealth, these individuals would still want to follow in the same pattern that got them to poverty in the first place.

He who was wealthy and later go bankrupt and he who is wealthy and still standout may not have encountered same challenges so If think if their accounting wealths tips would be the same, where differences would come will be on their financial managements and since no amount of money is ever enough, their risk taking will also differ so, I would prefer hearing from those who had once been wealthy and got broke so they would practically tell me about their experience to what lead to their bankrupts then, I can take note of it and stay away from it so I don't become one in the future.

Don't waste your time trying to learn from people that have failed in life because when you focus on the failures of life, you'll fail too. Focusing on negativity affects you more than when you focus on the positive hence when trying to be great in life, learn from people that have been great too as they'll guide you through the path that they followed to become successful. Based on my personal beliefs, your thoughts are true. I was in a gathering, and a speaker said before you accept to receive a gift of shoes or clothing from an individual, check what he is wearing. He assumes that the giver should appear in a good outfit to prove that he would offer something good to another person. I was not pleased with his analogy.

I don't judge people for what they have achieved or how successful they are. I learn from everybody, even from animals, plants, children, ex-convicts, the mentally ill, failures, addicts and so on. Everyone has information that might be helpful to you. If you are very patient and observant, everything on earth has a message that can be beneficial to you.

Learning from other people's mistakes is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to avoid the same mistakes.

I thought this was common knowledge. I mean, everybody is supposed to know that they need to learn from others' mistakes. We have to always learn from the experience of others, whether it is a good experience or not. I believe that in life, no matter the outcome of a situation, there's a lesson to learn and the same applies to business, or a career. This is one reason why we should read books, and watch stuff that will help us learn. We can't rely only on our experiences to learn, if we do that we might make a mistake that will ruin us so badly that it will be difficult or near impossible to come back from.

We just have to know that people's realities are different and we cant do exactly all they did eve though it worked for them. Like I've always said, what worked for A might not work for B. This is why we have a brain and a mind to think things through.

Learning for the mistakes of others could be hard since your situations and theirs are not the same and also, what makes them failed could be somewhat non existence in your own case, although one can learn few lessons from the mistakes of others but still such learning can't be rested on as a good source of lessons since the real lessons comes from personal experiences

So in that case should you prefer learning from the experience of another from his failure or you would want to in the name of getting a first hand experience of the "real lessons" choose to lose some huge funds, when you can take from  the experience of the former and save your funds to perhaps some shitty scam you didn't knew? Not all mistakes are good lessons to learn from, most mistakes that brought success people down are always self afflicted and at such one can easily avoid those self afflicting situations if you choose to be discipline on your own, in reality what I am saying is that failure and success goes hand in hand and learning them from others could be harmful if anything goes wrong along the line, but if you build your financial experience based on your individual past mistakes you will absorb the lesson so well.

Maybe not all but in them all there could be something to pick from it which you can use it to your gain and strength adding to your self discipline.  I think it's much better to take in other experiences in addition to your past as it would help much more in limiting your chances of making some mistakes you've never made in your past.

One of the ways to avoid that kind of failure is to be very disciplined in all you dealing while you are at the top and never to trust anyone also make sure that you turn your early success into a foundation of sustainability for your future, I have a friend who won a government contract sometimes ago and he made so many profits after execution of the contract, but instead of investing the money he was busy buying liability like car's and women's, and in no long time he became broke sold the car and his only house, now what the lesson to learn from this irresponsible character, instead making his money work for him for future sake he wasted his opportunity.

Learning from failure is one of the most valuable experiences it helps us understand our mistakes and avoid them in the future failure gives us an opportunity to identify our weaknesses and strengthen them. Yeah I agree. Experiences are not only about venturing places that are new to us or even existing places because we can as well build happy experiences there, whether all by ourselves or with our friends, family, relatives, etc... I think that a bad experience can also be considered as an experience even if there is no growth here. If we try again thinking we know what to do and still fail, we can try avoiding the same area and proceed on the other. As they say, not all are built on some things and there might only be one that is dedicated for us. We can seek for others experience or info but the actual thing can still be different, so we must not be surprised for that.

i have come across this message before,  but it was on social media where a preacher talked that the best way of leaning to succeed is by learning from both the rich and the poor. he emphasized more on learning from those that has failed. some failure from people in life was due to overconfidence, pride, disrespectfulness, anger and may other. and this led to their fall. so having a chat or conversation with such person will teach you not to be overconfident in what you are doing that you should take advice where necessary. if a person is always comfortable to learn from a successful person then am afraid such person may never know about risk. so i agree to the op that we should learn from failure and not only successful people.

This I very much agree with.
There is a difference between having to learn from someone else’s experience than learning from our own experience. It comes with different feeling and connotation.

When it’s someone else’s, it’s some worth negligible given that, you never really get to feel the weight of the action that have result in that failure. Your completely out of that but, can only see how such decision did lead.

When it’s a result of your own action, you’re in for it all. The weight isn’t shared and you would take decisions to never want to be in same scenario again. If your disciplined enough, you just might keep to it.

See it as a precaution, you might still end up making the exact mistakes if you don't do it right. Some failures in life aren't something you would love to experience, Sometimes you may not be lucky enough to recover from such an unhappy situation, the best thing in life is to learn from different misfortune, whether good or bad scenarios, always be willing to listen and make adjustments without waiting for experience.

Those people who failed, some failed because they had nothing to sharpen their blunt edges, the mistakes they made was because they never had an instance to look up to, if lucky to have an experience to relate on when facing similar issue, all seriousness and discipline must be made to escape from such failures, it's easier to fail in life than to succeed, a single mistake can ruin a bright future.
