Selling BTC for dry powder during this dip?

I would really like to add to my Link, Ondo, and Render bags but don't have any dry powder. I was thinking about selling a little BTC to do this. I'm in massive profit in BTC, and considering selling $20k worth to do so.

You know best of your investment plans when it comes to diversification of assets. I also don't know when you invested on bitcoin to say you want to sell at this time as when last I checked today bitcoin was $83,000 which is over 25% lost from the current Ath of $111,000.
If you also think bitcoin is doing so well in yielding you massive profits why don't you hold further? But if you think selling some of it is the only option for you to expand your portfolio, then you can follow your mind. Jus hope you don't regret every single move.
Ad for me. I am not holding the above mentioned alt coins because I have not been followed up to know their potential values in the Short or long term.

I think cashing out some BTC when I'm ahead feels smart especially if I want to put that money into something else or mix things up. But I really believe BTC's got legs for the long run so maybe I'll just  sell a chunk and keep the rest to play it safe. I know the market's moods matter so I'll peek at what's happening before I pull the trigger. Spreading out my sells little by little could smooth out the ups and downs too. If I'm excited about my new ideas, I might just juggle both and see how it goes.

see the gain that bitcoin has gotten within this bullrun and compare it to the like of the altcoins that you mentioned, if you think the altcoin outpeform bitcoin then go ahead, but I personally would prefer to stay with BTC, strong flow of capital from institutional investors as well as if there's any strategic reserve in the future, BTC will be the first one to be considered meanwhile the coin you mentioned might not even cross the minds of the big player.

so in my opinion, not worth it to be honest, altcoin also isn't good for long term holding.

Are you personally convinced that the potential value from the said altcoin could give you the amount of profit or maybe above what bitcoin could in the long term with that $20k you're contemplating on risking to this coin? Think about this over again and give yourself the perfect answer.

If we must diversify a segment of our bitcoin portfolio based on the profits made then it should be on assets that have a reliable potential to do better with value in the future, and should be a random trial and error experimental-like means.

It will be better if you get some funds out of your pocket and just keep your Bitcoins hodl for long time because for me its bad idea to sell your Bitcoin then exchange it to altcoins since you might lose more with that especially they are more volatile that Bitcoin.

But its your choice since you are still the one can decide to whatever things you like and if you want to risk then do those things what makes you feel comfortable.

For me I would rather sell those alts then add the funds on my Bitcoin holdings.

BTC is the way to hodl through 2025 and beyond.

The biggest part of the portfolio should consist from it, not diversifying that much.

where are you holding your bitcoin? is it in stablecoin or just bitcoin? because bitcoin now is not doing very well though not that low but not really high either i wouldn’t want to sell at this point of time where bitcoin is priced like this

not especially to convert it into altcoins but we all have different strategies and priorities so really it’s only you that can answer this if i really needed to use some money for altcoins i will only take a small amount from bitcoin since bitcoin is my biggest priority

It's a good idea to sell bitcoin and buy coin you believe in. I wouldn't recommend selling all of it but if your are after profit, bitcoin won't give you as much profit as newer altcoins can. Ethereum too is too stagnant, profit are being made in newer coins. If you want some risks in memecoins, if you want lesser risks, in utility coins.
It would take years for bitcoin to do a x3 from here. A great bull might lead it to 150K but It won't be going above 200K soon. But if you choose the new, right alt, it might go x2 within months and if you chose the right one, a x5 within a year.

It’s your choice to decide if selling is the best thing for you to do, the tokens/coins in question I don’t know about them so I can’t consider selling any portion of my bitcoin for what I don’t know about but if you feel that it’s worth it you can take the risk but make sure not to dump all your bitcoin in pursuit of another profit, just try to go in with a reduced risk which is what I could have done if I’m to invest in something else.

Well I do not know any of those coins you did say other then Link. But to sell your Bitcoin right now before we have another 'bull run' I do not think you should do that.
If you want to use some of your fiat to stack cheaper alt coins then yes. But if you are in such big profits from hodling your Bitcoin I do not think you should sell that to buy any of the alt coins.

I wouldn’t advise selling Bitcoin for any of that crap but you do you. This correction will be eaten up & we will return to new all time highs for Bitcoin within a couple of months. You can play around & try to scalp but what if the price reverses fast & you get left holding badly performing shitcoins? Make sure you know all the risks before you proceed.

BTC for alts is a no-no for me. I have done that and it just made me massive losses instead of profits. Well, that's my story and it could be different for you so, do it at your own risk.

Those are known alts and I'm aware of your choices. But if it's about converting your BTC for it, I don't think it's wise. If you want to buy them, use spare money and any other funds outside BTC so you can keep it.

Well, for me, I’m not holding much BTC, but I’m holding on to the little I have. At the end of the day, the decision is yours. However, a $20K profit in BTC is quite massive, buddy.

 If you still want to hold onto your BTC, you could just take out $5K instead and invest it in each of the tokens you listed. Of course, this is not financial advice just my take on how I would go about it.

Most people usually sell altcoins to buy bitcoins because we all know bitcoins are the best and most investable coins in the market. There are very few people who do the opposite so it's no surprise that no one agrees with your idea.

But in my opinion: it is a portion of the profit you make from your bitcoin investment and although there is a risk, it is clear that you are investing with money you can afford to lose and not with your initial capital. So I don't see any problem with this idea but at the end of the day it's your money and you are the only one responsible for it. You should consider carefully when making decisions instead of relying on other people's advice when we are not the same.

It is those who don't understand the potential profits Bitcoin has over altcoins in the long run will like to risk their Bitcoin holdings to altcoins they don't know what lies ahead in the future for the altcoins they intend to accumulate.

I can't have up to $20k in Bitcoin and I want to invest it all in altcoins that I haven't seen much gains in them in the last 30 days. What I will do best, if I really want to invest in altcoins I have in mind is to bring out $300 for those altcoins, the rest of the $20k will still remain in bitcoin.

Massive profit in bitcoin? meaning when bitcoin reached 109k$ were you able to sell it at all? oh are you still going to sell btc even though it has dropped from 109k$? though even at its current price now there is still a big profit you can get even if you sell?

And in fairness you are going to sell Bitcoin that you have now worth 20k$, wow! meaning you are holding a lot of bitcoins now?

You're better off leaving your money in Bitcoin than to patronize any of this crap. I was in your position a few years ago and went ahead with it. I haven't still recovered from it because I exchanged my precious bitcoin for shitty alts that go -90% after previously dumping over -99%.

If anything, you can sell your bitcoin at high prices and rebuy it lower to increase your stash. But I also don't recommend because some people I know did this during that run up to previous ATH (66k) and thought they'll get a chance to buy Lower. They didn't.

Selling BTC to buy altcoinis is a big risk and people will not advise you to take such risk because you will not earn what BTC will give to you from that altcoin. You can sell altcoins to buy BTC which is a good advise people in this industry can give to you, but selling BTC to buy altcoins in this season, it will make you not to be successful in that decision because the price of BTC is falling for other altcoins price to start falling too to allow people to buy coins of their choice and hodl.

I know you need Money to add altcoins to your wallet so that you will not be hodling only BTC, but you can wait for the price of BTC to rise before you can see in the high price and wait to buy altcoins in the bear run, if truly you want to buy altcoin.
